| Chapter 1
Note: This takes place before he meets Daiki in Gunma's story, few years before.
Wangan, Tokyo, Japan
"Tsch, too slow" Raymond yelled as he gunned his stock Porsche 911 down the long Wangan straight.
In front of him, a full-tuned green R32 was speeding up as well, leaving Raymond further and further behind.
"Damn, why can't I catch up" he muttered to himself.
Yet, Raymond's pride would not allow him to give up that easily.. he pressed the accelerator pedal of his Porsche even harder, not caring about the machine's limits.
Slowly, but surely, his Porsche caught up with the leading R32. Using it's slipstream, the Porsche steadily gained more speed. Eventually, the Porsche became neck and neck with the R32.
However.. right when Raymond is about to pass the R32, the Porsche's engine gave up on him, exploding with a dull thud, and pillows of smoke came out from under the hood of his car.
"DAMN!" Raymond yelled loudly, forced to pull over on the Wangan straight.
Naturally, the R32 went on, leaving Raymond alone on the side of the Wangan street.
"Stupid slow car... I thought Porsche's were supposed to be invincible... Yet, it gets defeated by a Japanese car.... How dissapointing" Raymond thought to himself.
He lifted the hood of his Porsche. Horrendous amounts of smoke came out from the overheated engine.
"Damn...I am gonna need a cab. My dad is gonna kill me.."
NEXT DAY, Wangan, 22:30 PM
"Yeah, yeah, dad, I get it, I won't butcher the car today"
"I swear, Raymond, that Porsche was one of the best cars I ever had.. And you obliterated it. Parts of those cars are hard to come by, you know?"
"Fine, fine, sorry, I'll use one of the Japanese cars then..."
That conversation repeated itself on Raymond's head as he drove down the Wangan Straight with one of the Japanese cars he found on his dad's extensive garage, the Toyota Supra RZ, the JZA80 version. As far as he was concerned, the car was stock, slow, and crappy.
"Damn it, I have to use this useless car... Japanese cars can never defeat European ones..There is no grace...no speed. Tsch.. " Raymond thought to himself.
Suddenly, headlights flashed from behind him.. The universal sign for "Let's race"
"Fine..Let's see what this car can do." Raymond said.
He pressed down hard on the accelerator, and the engine of his Supra roared into life, propelling the car forward, easily breaking the 200km/h mark.
"Not bad, I suppose, but the Porsche is faster.." Raymond thought.
The car behind him, a white R33, followed suit, and the race began. Raymond's stock Supra was no match for the tuned R33, and he was quickly left behind. Even Raymond realized that it is hopeless..and he stopped on the side of the street.
"Damn Japanese car... Wait till I get my European babies back... I'll show you stupid Wangan racers how it is done.." Raymond thought out loudly, fire burning in his eyes.

| Quite a good start there. Well, it is true... racing stories such as this start out in two ways...
So first off is his Porsche 911 (that's definitely a 996 chassis as the 997 appears at around 2006, etc. etc. < time frame of SLAC is at 2K4. I wonder when is your time frame) which failed... carrera or turbo? Probably a Carrera 4S or S considering the situation. correct me if I am wrong...
Then a stock JZA80 which fails too...
What would be his decision on this...? How will he progress? Hmm?
|Posted by: Paladinoras Jul 14 2009, 10:16 PM|
Hmm, thanks, but I feel that it sounds too forced.. I need to make it flow more.
Lol, I think he will be the second one, going from hating Japanese cars to loving it. And slowly increasing his skill level..and racing style. And of course, loving the colour white. Hahaha
And now..NEW CHAPTER!

Note: This is an insight to Raymond's life, instead of the usual racing story. Pretty long, so boredom might ensue. Hahaha
The Prancing Horse on Summer
11th June 2002
Shinjuku District, Tokyo
‘BEEP, BEEP, BEEP’ An alarm clock rang loudly across Raymond’s room.
“Ugh, frigging thing” Raymond muttered, as his hand moved around his nightstand, trying to find his alarm, scrambling to find the snooze button. By the time he found the snooze button and shut the alarm off, he already lost all the will to sleep. He slowly got up and rubbed his eyes lazily. He got out of bed and headed for the door, trying to go to the bathroom.
Suddenly, the door opened forcefully and a figure came running towards him, hugging him tightly. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ONII-CHAN!!!” The figure screamed. “Ca-can’t breathe” Raymond managed to utter, despite the immense pressure on his lungs.
“Oh, oops, sorry, Nii-san” The figure quickly released him from her iron grip, and stood in front of him, grinning mischieviously. “Ooof, don’t you think you are a little too old for this, Yui? Being 16 and all..” Raymond said, in a somewhat annoyed voice. “Ahahaha, I am never too old to say happy birthday to my dearest Nii-san” the figure replied.
The figure was none other than Raymond’s younger sister, Yui Yamazaki. Unlike Raymond, who has mixed traits from both of her parents, with blonde hair, Japanese good looks, and blue eyes, Yui looks naturally Japanese, looking very much like her mother. She also inherited her mother’s beautiful looks, and now, at age 16, that trait is showing clearly. Raymond is a protective brother, and he had lost count of how many suitors to her baby sister he turned away, not thinking that any of them is worthy.
“Fine, fine, thanks anyway” Raymond relented, and walked down to the dining room of the large penthouse he and his family lives in, his sister following him. His dad, 48-year old Tom Patterson, was sitting down on the breakfast table, munching on a piece of toast as he read the newspaper, while his mother, 43-year old Hitomi Yamazaki, was working at the kitchen. Raymond had always thought that it was weird that his dad wanted his kids to take his wife’s last name, but he wanted his kids to fit in Japan, so it was only natural that they have Japanese names. Well, partially for Raymond, at least, Tom was adamant in giving his son a Western name.
Tom looked up from his newspaper and smiled. “Happy Birthday, son” he said. “Thanks, Dad, I appreciate it” Raymond replied. “Ahh, Raymond, happy birthday as well, you are 19 this year, right?” his mother said, while kissing him on the cheeks. “Yeah, mom, 19 this year… one more till I am legal!” Raymond said. Hitomi laughed and put a few pancakes on his plate.
“So…Nii-san, do you want your birthday present now, or later?” Yui asked, in a cutesy voice. “Hmm? I did not really think about it. Well, anytime is fine by me” Raymond replied. “GREAT!” Yui yelled, and ran back up to her room, coming back with a finely wrapped box. “Open it, open it, open it, Nii-san” Yui said, excitedly jumping around. “Okay, okay” Raymond said, while chewing on a pancake. He took the box and carefully opened it, not wanting to destroy the ribbons and other decorations. Inside the box….was a incredibly thick book, titled The Art of Modification, describing all of the intricacies and ways to modify all types of cars. “WOW, SUGOI!!! THANK YOU, YUI!” Raymond exclaimed, genuinely happy. “No problem, Nii-san” Yui smiled, happy to see that his present is appreciated.
“Ahaha, you know your brother well, Yui, well then, I guess now…” Tom took out a small box from his pocket. “You need a car to apply the stuff in that book” he continued. Raymond opened the box. Inside was a car key, with the unmistakable logo of the Prancing Horse on the key. In other words, they keys to a Ferrari. Raymond nearly fainted. “OH GOD, A FERRARI?!! THANKS, DAD, BIG TIME!!” Raymond yelled. He also hugged him tightly, in an outburst of happiness. He also did not neglect hugging his sister tightly. Right when he was about to leave the room though, his mom yelled for him to come back. “I trust you did not forget about my present, dear?” she said, as she handed him a small, rectangular box. Inside was a simple silver necklace, with the Japanese character for speed there. “Wow, mom, you know me so well..” Raymond uttered, amazed. He hugged her as well, then dashed for the garage, his main destination.

| Aww... that's so sweet of his parents. Personally, though... I think a Ferrari is too much of a present. Well, that's just me, and besides... in this story, He is super rich so I am speechless at this point.
What Ferrari would that be?
carry on then with the next Update.
Wait... since Raymond might be coming back on the story, mind if I borrow his little sister too?

| I have a quick read through the 2 chapters, and well, there are some things you might want to be careful about.
- Being in Japan, foreign cars like Ferrari and Porsche are hard to come by, especially when they are imported into the country. This means that a lot of money is being poured in just to get the car.
- You might also want to tell the readers how financially sound the characters are. I was being a bit skeptical when Raymond first wrecked the Porsche, then borrowed his father's Toyota Supra, and then getting a Ferrari on his 19th birthday. In my opinion, it does feel a bit... over the top, if you understand what I mean.
- For his family, I can only seem to visualise Raymond's sister, while I can't get a feeling on how the rest look. You could do a bit of describing how each character's look like.
-If there's one thing I admit of one similarity comparing my story (Racer 666: Shutokou Wars), and yours... well, my first few chapters were cheesy as well. Haha

| Try seeing mine as well, Outlaw-2. And Ferraris do seem over the top unless it is like in the original Wangan Midnight story where a ferrari is evident too...
Oh, and Paladinoras, I don't think the chapter is boring as you say it is. There should be a balance between a battle and the lives of your characters.

I agree with outlaw-2, though I have my opinion to share
It's a great story to emphasize how exotics can influence upon Shutoku
Because your character seem very rich, perhaps you need to fill in on his personal background because he's obviously no average Jap
|Posted by: Paladinoras Jul 16 2009, 05:47 AM|
Lolz, yeah, go ahead, borrow his sister. That sounds a bit creepy. Hahaha
And everyone, thanks for the feedback. Will take it into consideration.
Well, yeah, i was gonna talk about the parents more, but i feared that the chapter might be too long, so I cut parts of it.
Ahh, yeah, I need to talk about their financial state more, yeah, well, I thought that saying that they live in a large penthouse, and his father having his own personal parking lot is good enough, but ok, I already have a background for him, again, I didn't want to make the chapter too long.
Oh, and RIT_Ninja, he likes exotics yeah, but *spoilers* he won't be using them for the whole story... haha, pretty obvious, considering he uses an R34 in Gunma 34's story, but yeah, it will be a life-changing moment for him before he changes.

|amazing...speechless...19 th bday..he gets a ferrari...if on my 19th bday i get a skyline..i would be..realli stun..for 2 days..haha..ah well..look like this is gonna be one hell of a ride huh...|

| if u plan on having ur character living in a large estate, you should try 1 of 2 things
1. have their place located in the outskirts of Tokyo
2. his dad had the power to tear down several buildings in tokyo to make their territory
just some of my suggestions. depends on what you want to be in the element of your story, realistic or fantasized
|Posted by: Benovelence Jul 20 2009, 01:59 AM|
|damn man...he's filthy rich.....|
|Posted by: Paladinoras Jul 20 2009, 07:49 PM|
|Well, a large penthouse in Shinjuku does cost a lot of money, cause the Shinjuku district is sort of the high-class area of Tokyo, if I am not mistaken, where all the government officials live in, so I decided to put them there. Sides, it is too troublesome to put them in a rural estate, cause Raymond is practical, and he prefers a place where he can go to Wangan fast.|

The Angel Horse
Raymond dashed to the garage. The apartment he lived in had reserved a substantial amount of parking space to accommodate the many cars that his dad owns. Raymond weaved through all of the cars present in the garage, looking for his new car. Despite his father’s love for cars, and although Tom can certainly purchase tons of Ferraris, he only has two Ferraris, including the one for Raymond, a yellow F355 and a…
“OH MY GOD!!” Raymond exclaimed.
Parked in front of him, a ribbon tied around the car, is none other than a 550 Maranello, white in colour.
“Amazing….” Raymond thought out loud, his eyes fixated on the white car in front of him. The car was beautiful to Raymond, a piece of art. He ran his fingers from the hood of the car to the trunk of the car, slowly admiring the car. He took out the car keys, and went inside the car, popping the hood. He lifted the hood…and there it is. The famed engine of the Ferrari lay naked in front of him. The Naturally Aspirated V12 Engine, the dual overhead cams…Raymond took in all of it. It was pure bliss.
“Enjoying it, son?” Tom’s booming voice came from the doorway of the garage. He came over and patted his son on his back. “Wow, Dad…I don’t know what to say…It is beautiful..” Raymond replied, his voice stuttering a bit. “Ahahaha, well, you better be happy, I had to pull some strings to get this car here without sacrificing the food on our table.” Tom said. Raymond nodded silently, still in awe of the car parked in front of him.
“Well now, what do you say we take it out for a spin?” Tom said, climbing into the driver’s seat, and turning on the car engine. Tom’s tall, muscular frame fitted nicely to the interior of the car, although he looked awkward in it, being used to getting driven, instead of driving.
“Uhh, sure, I guess…” Raymond muttered, while closing the hood of the car. He then climbed into the passenger’s seat, a seat he is not usually found in. Tom turned the ignition on, and the car engine roared to life. “Can you hear that, Ray? Hear the sound of that V12 Engine!!” Tom said excitedly. Raymond could not reply, all of his attention taken by the engine of the Ferrari.
“Let’s go then..” Tom said, and pressed on the accelerator of the car. The powerful engine of the Ferrari propelled it forward, heading for the exit of the garage. Being a Monday morning, the roads of Shinjuku were crowded as usual. However, as soon as the car reached the Bayside Route Highway, also known as the Wangan route, Tom pressed down on the accelerator. “WOOHOO!!!!” he yelled, as the Ferrari’s engine roared into life. Within seconds, the Ferrari had reached the speed of 180 km/h. Looking at Tom now, no one can possibly tell that he was the owner of an international corporation responsible for the production of 20% of all car parts being used around the world. Tom is a daredevil at heart, and that trait is obviously being exhibited on the long Wangan straight.
“Uhhh, Dad…” Raymond uttered. Tom did not listen looking like he is in a hypnotized trance…or maybe, he could not listen, as he pressed on the accelerator even harder. Soon, the Ferrari reached 200 km/h, 220 km/h, 240 km/h… “DAD!!!” Raymond yelled, breaking him out of his trance. “Wha—Oh, damn!” Tom yelled, as he saw two trucks directly in front of him. He pressed on the brakes, hard….
Meanwhile, back at Raymond’s penthouse, at the kitchen
“Hmm, I have a strange feeling that your dad is umm…relieving his stress right now..” Hitomi said. “Hmm, how could you possibly know that, Mom?” Yui replied. “Ahh, Yui, you will understand once you get a husband of your own” Hitomi said mysteriously. “Whaaaaa, that is not an explanation!” Yui exclaimed. Hitomi laughed, smiling at her daughter’s reaction. “Well, Yui, one of the advantages of having a husband like your father is that I don’t have to worry about him getting too stressed and exploding, he lets it all out rather easily” Hitomi said, while smiling. Yui pondered over that statement. Certainly, looking at her mother’s nearly flawless skin, with almost no wrinkles, it is pretty obvious that she lives a stress-free life. Her dad isn’t so bad, either, being 48, but his skin having the lustre of a man much younger, and his blonde hair is still…well, blonde, no white hair has sprouted out to her knowledge. “Hmm, my parents are pretty weird…” Yui thought to herself.
Back at Wangan…
“Ahahaha, I was a little crazy just now, wasn’t I?” Tom said, while smoking on his cigarette. “Uhh, yeah...pretty much” Raymond replied, laughing a little. It is obvious where Raymond gets his racing genes from. Tom had braked hard, evading the two trucks in front of him, and drifted from the gap between the truck on the left and the walls of Wangan to escape the potential crash, and quickly parked on the side after that, taking a smoke.
“Well, son, it goes without saying…Don’t drive like me later at night.” Tom said to Raymond. “Ahaha, yes, don’t worry, father, I will be fine..” Raymond replied. Tom suddenly turned around and looked at Raymond directly in the eyes.
“I know what you have been up to on the Wangan strip at night, Ray…and I am certainly not pleased with it…But I realize that this is your calling. So far, I have allowed you to race freely, and even gave you the means to do so. But this is a very fast car, Raymond. If you break it, I can afford more Ferraris…but if you die crashing it, no amount of money can bring you back. So…no crazy stuff, alrite?” Tom gave a long lecture.
“Yes, Dad, I completely understand. Don’t worry…I love this car too much.” Raymond replied, grinning all the way. ‘But I guess you will have to wait till tonight to find out, Dad’ Raymond thought to himself.

| Sorry for the long wait. I was busy.
The Prancing Stallion
Shinjuku District, Tokyo, 13 00 PM
The white Ferrari 550 Maranello moved along the streets of Shinjuku, drawing the attention of every single commuter of the streets. Exotics are hard to come by in Japan, and most of the onlookers had never seen a Ferrari before. They have heard of it, sure, who hadn’t? The Prancing Horse logo is as recognizable a logo as the Mercedes Three Pointed Star, or the Three Diamonds of the Mitsubishi Corporation, yet no one had actually seen it in real life. And seeing a blond man driving it seems suitable somehow.
Inside the car, Raymond Yamazaki is turning around restlessly in the driver’s seat. Such slow speeds do not suit his explosive personality. But if he wants to take a shot at the Wangan strip later on when night falls, he has no choice but to go to his current destination. Turning around a corner, he saw it, the only thing that Raymond probably treasures as much as his cars.
His tuning shop.
Raymond parked the car inside the bustling shop. His tuning shop is considered a rising star in the automotive industry, tuning more than 50 cars monthly, of different origins and types. The name of the tuning shop suits Raymond’s personality almost perfectly, Speed Addiction. Or SpeedAdd among its customers, and the moniker suited his shop. Any car that enters his shop will come out faster, stronger, and better. Because of conditions from his father, who provided the money needed to start the shop, Raymond has to, grudgingly, put safety first in tuning his cars.
“Yoo, boss, a new car? Wait…is this…a FERRARI???” a voice exclaimed as Raymond stepped out from his car. The owner of the voice is a 25 year old man, a tall and well-built man who is covered in grease and oil, with the name of Kazuhiko Yamada. He is one of the best mechanics in Raymond’s tuning house, and Raymond personally trusts him with the tuning of HIS cars, and this time is no different.
“Ever seen one of these?” Raymond asked him. “Hahahaha, you are joking, right, boss? Heard of it, but this is a first for me.” Kazuhiko replied. “Heh, good then, Kazu, today you get to tune one, I trust it will be up to your usual standards?” Raymond said.
“I doubt that any other standards would please you, boss” Kazu exclaimed.
“I’m glad you understand. Well then,..” Raymond tossed the keys to his Ferrari to Kazu, who caught it awkwardly “Get to work” Raymond finished.
He went to the back of the building, entering the office section of the tuning shop, and the place is packed full with people paying for their transactions.
“So, a bolt-on turbo kit with Volk TE37 rims for your DC2 Integra, correct? That adds up to 436 thousand yen” a female voice rang out from behind the cashier counter.
The customer, a young executive type man, probably 20ish years old, moaned loudly. “Oh come on, Ayumi-chan, can’t you give me a discount??? That is my paycheck for a month, man!!” he complained to the cashier, a beautiful woman in her 20s with a deceptively easy-going look on her face. “Ahh, Tatsuya-kun, you should have thought about that before you went here! If you want to save money, go buy ramen, not bolt-on turbo kits!” she replied with a smile on her face, sounding cute while saying something that is completely hurtful. “Acckkk, Ayumi-chan….fine..” the man relented and took out his wallet.
“All good, Ayumi?” Raymond yelled out. “No problems here, sir!” Ayumi cheerfully replied. “Alright then, keep up the good work!!” Raymond said. He then walked on to his office, and opened the door. Inside, was a gigantic mess of papers, billing statements, binder files, car posters, and even the occasional half-eaten donut here and there. Raymond looked around his office for a few minutes, scanned it, and proceeded to close the door to his office.
“It will be a cold day in hell before I do any paperwork…” he muttered. He turned around and the face of a beautiful bespectacled woman stared back at him. “Are you sure you want to do that, Raymond-kun?” the woman said to him, in a rather threatening voice. “Ehhh, Chihiro-san, didn’t notice you there..” Raymond said, trailing off at the end. The woman is Chihiro Satonaka, his secretary, and a supervisor of sorts, appointed by Raymond’s father. “You know very well that when you were given this office, you would have to do administrative work as well..” she said calmly. “Well, yeah, but I can’t be bogged down in an office, I am a free spirit, I belong in the ROOOAADDD!!!” Raymond said, while waving his hands around in a dramatic manner, and tried to sidestep Chihiro.
WHOOSH!!! The air was suddenly cut by Chihiro’s arm, moving suddenly to bar Raymond’s path. “Dream on, you are staying here and finishing your job!” Chihiro exclaimed, pouting her lips. “You know, Chihiro-san, you look kinda cute with that face.” Raymond said. “Wha-Wha-What does that have to do with anything?? Flattery will get you nowehere!!” Chihiro replied, but her furiously blushing face betrayed her statement. “Ahaha, I made you blush! I am so good at this” Raymond said while laughing loudly. “D-Don’t be stupid, go in there and do your work!!” Chihiro said to him, getting increasingly angry…and…happy..? “Ahaha, fine, fine, only for you, Chihiro-chaaannnn!!!” Raymond replied in an annoying tone, as he entered his office.
Chihiro returned to her table as well, muttering about how her boss is such a pain. She sits down and sighs, while staring at the door to Raymond’s office. “He is so freakishly immature…” she thought to herself. “But…he is a nice kid..maybe..one day…I could date..” “Chihirrooo-chaaann, mind if you buy me ramen???” Raymond’s head suddenly popped out of his office and spoke, going back in a second later. “WAAA!!!” Chihiro exclaimed in surprise, very nearly falling from her chair. “Urrghh, what was I thinking back then?! I am two years older than that immature jerk, and his subordinate… Plus…he would never go for me.” she thought again, and stood up, walking to order ramen…
P.S. Sorry for the rather slice of life chapters so far. Chapter 5 will definitely have shutokou racing involved!!!
P.P.S Any feedback will be appreciated. Hahahah

Return to Action
Speed Addiction Tuning House, Shinjuku District, 18 30 PM
“This should do it..” Raymond muttered to himself as he stacked the last binder file on top of an incredibly tall and wobbly tower of binder files. He looked around his somewhat clean office, which has all of his paperwork arranged…although rather hastily and uncaringly. “I can finally see my computer again!!” Raymond said as he sat down on the singular chair at his office. He did not like having guests at his office, he preferred meeting his business associates on the garage section of his tuning house.
“Well, then, off to Wangan..” Raymond thought to himself, as he stood up and walked out of his office. “Kazu better be done with the mods, I can’t wait to drive it down the Wangan strip any longer..” Raymond thought, increasing his walking speed to reach the garage faster.
“I trust you are finished with all of your work…” Chihiro’s voice suddenly emanated from behind Raymond. “Of course, I told you, anything for you, Chihiro-chaannnn” Raymond yelled as he ran from the office, waving his hand goodbye to his secretary. “Some boss I have..” Chihiro sighed, and went inside his office to pick up the bowl of unfinished ramen he left behind. “Typical, I swear, I think he is 5 sometimes..” Chihiro muttered as he walked out and locked his office door.
“KAZUUUU!!!” Raymond exclaimed as he came dashing into the garage section of his tuning house. “Oh, boss, I am not really done with the car, the rollcage is still..” Kazuhiko never finished that sentence, as Raymond snatched the keys away from his outstretched hand and jumped inside his white Ferrari. He inserted his keys to the ignition and started the car. The sound of the engine was noticeably different than when it first came in the shop.
“Dammmnnn, I am loving this sound…What did you do to it, Kazu? Give me the short version” Raymond said excitedly. “Uhh, with the short time you have given me, I have changed the bonnet of the car into a carbon version, painted of course, cause we all know how you hate the original carbon colour of those hoods, and I did a small NA upgrade of the machine, Bored and Stroked the car, balanced the engines, optimized the ECU of the Engine, and added new suspensions to make it more stiff.” Kazu replied, answering hurriedly. “Awesomee, so did you do a dyno of the car?” Raymond asked. “Ehh, yeah, the power output of the car is now 640 HP at 7300 rpm, and a top speed of approximately 312 km/h, but with the rollcage not yet installed, I don’t suggest that..” Kazu’s words were cut short by the Ferrari, which roared into life as it dashed out of the garage into the Wangan strip. “you go past 290 km/h, cause you might lose control” Kazu finished, with no one listening.
Raymond quickly drove his car to the Wangan Strip. At 7 o’ clock in the night, the Wangan Strip is still filled with ordinary commuters, moving about with their mundane lives in their slow cars. Raymond feels restless.. He wants to go fast, but he knows that he cannot harm anyone at the Wangan strip. It is one of the principles he made when he decided he would street race, he would not cause any harm to civilians in the process. However…with the explosive power lying under the hood of his Ferrari, driving at speeds below 200 km/h is becoming increasingly difficult.
Raymond tapped his fingers repeatedly on the steering wheel of his Ferrari. Shifting is effortless now, Kazu must have changed the clutch and flywheel of his car as well. But…being stuck on 4th gear is killing Raymond inside, who wants nothing more but to press on the accelerator hard and gun the Ferrari down the Wangan strip. He reached the Kawasakiukishima junction and kept on going straight, heading for the Haneda airport. “Hmph, nice view, but much good it will do to me..” Raymond thought, as the spectacular Tokyo shoreline greeted his vision. As he kept on going, suddenly, lights flashed from behind him. “YES, FINALLY!!!!” Raymond thought out loud, as the car behind him, a black R32, with a Nismo S-Tune body kit, flashed his headlights repeatedly, wanting a race badly with the rare exotic in front of him.
“Bring it on, bakayaro..” Raymond muttered under his breath, as he pressed down on the accelerator pedal of his Ferrari hard. The dormant engine of the V12 beast roared into life instantly, propelling his white 550 Maranello to speeds of 250 km/h..and rising…fast. The black R32 tried to keep up, desperately, but to no avail. The acceleration and top speed of the barely modified R32 cannot compare to the Ferrari. Within a minute, the R32 disappeared from Raymond’s rear-view mirror. “Hahaha, this is how a Wangan racer should be..EXOTICS RULE!!!” Raymond exclaimed loudly. Another pair of lights flashed from behind him.
“Heh, bring it onnnn” Raymond thought to himself, and revved his Ferrari. His enemy is a JZA80 Supra, white in colour with a TRD decal on the side. The Ferrari dashed forward, at the speed of 275 km/h. The Supra surprisingly managed to keep up with him, managing to stay by the Ferrari’s side. “Impressive…but not for long!!” Raymond yelled out loud, and shifted to the sixth gear, giving the Ferrari a new dimension of power. The car slowed down for a moment, as the rpm of the engine decreased…then roared back into life, increasing the speed of the Ferrari rapidly from 275 km/h to nearly 290km/h. This is where the exotics pull away from the heavily tuned Japanese cars…
Exotics have always been famous for their high top speeds, while Japanese imports are famed for their exquisite handling. Even a heavily tuned Japanese car will have a hard time keeping up with the naturally more powerful exotic and it’s high top speeds, unless if an amazingly good tuner works on the engine. This was not the case for the Supra behind Raymond, which did not undergo substantial modifications to its engine, and therefore, unable to keep up with Raymond’s well-tuned and demonically powerful Ferrari.
By the time Raymond’s Ferrari reaches the speed of 295 km/h, he is already pulling away from the Supra, who could not maintain its high speed any longer, while the Ferrari’s speed is still gradually increasing. “Chalk another one up to Raymond Yamazaki, baby!!” Raymond yelled out loud, happy over his recent victories.
Reaching the Tatsumi Junction, Raymond turned left, heading for the C1 Inner Loop Area. Just as he reached the Edobashi Junction, another car flashed its lights from behind him. The car is foreign to Raymond, who has seen many cars from being at the tuning shop for so many hours. “What kind of car is that..? Judging from shape of the lights… a modified FD? Well, doesn’t really matter… I am gonna smoke him” Raymond thought cockily to himself.
The car behind him is indeed an FD3S, RX-7 R1 type, widebodied, which explains the unusual shape of the RX-7. Inside the car, a young man looked calmly at the Ferrari in front of him, tapping the headlights handle of his car, repeatedly flashing his headlights. “An exotic…this should be interesting.” The man thought to himself. As both cars entered the C1 Inner Loop area, there is nothing else on Kazuhiko Aizawa’s mind but the thought of beating Raymond and his Ferrari. Kazuhiko shifted to fourth gear, and bursts of flames erupted from the RE Amemiya muffler in his FD.
And so the race began…..

Here's an update
Edobashi Junction, Tokyo, 11:00 PM
Raymond Yamazaki pressed hard on the accelerator pedal of his Ferrari, propelling the car forward to speeds in excess of 240km/h. The FD behind him was soon left behind. The driver, Kazuhiko Aizawa calmly shifted to fifth gear and tried his best to keep up with Raymond’s blistering pace. He knows very well that his FD could not hope to match his Ferrari on the straights, which is why he restrained himself from challenging him on the Wangan straight, instead preferring to wait until they both reach the C1 Inner Loop area, where his RX-7 could have an actual fighting chance of beating Raymond’s Ferrari.
The two cars ran up the wide slope associated with the Edobashi Junction. Raymond was increasing his lead fast; Kazuhiko must do something fast if the thought of victory was in his head. Soon enough, a chance presented itself to Kazuhiko, the famous Suicide Left corner in the Edobashi Junction, which would lead to the C1 Inner Loop Area.
“Tsch, this corner…” Raymond muttered to himself. He knows this corner very well, nearly crashing there on several occasions. The corner requires hard braking and quick reflexes, and Raymond knows this very well. “NOW!” Raymond yelled to himself, while braking hard on his Ferrari, shifting to third gear and turning the steering wheel hard. The demonically powerful Ferrari was very difficult to control, but Raymond was able to barely fit the car into the outside apex of the corner, nearly shaving the walls. “Oof, lucky break there” Raymond thought. He looked at the rear mirror to see where his opponent is, and he could not see the headlights of the widebodied FD any longer.
“Is that all..? Man, I thought this was gonna be interesting…” he muttered to himself.
Suddenly, the FD passed him, coming in from the left side of his car. “WHAT THE…?” Raymond exclaimed. Inside the FD, Kazuhiko was grinning. He knows very well that this is one part of his car that could outclass any exotic in the market, its superior handling. While Raymond had to brake hard and rely on grip driving to corner, Kazuhiko merely drifted through the corner, maintaining his high speed through the dangerous corner, while Raymond had to practically stop his car before turning.
“Mehh, no problem, I will lose him here!” Raymond muttered. The two cars reached the Kandabashi area, filled with relatively easy corners. Raymond, for the first time in the night, is actually in danger of losing. The office buildings flashed past Raymond as he pressed down on the accelerator even harder, increasing his speed to 265 km/h. The FD of course, could not keep up with the Ferrari, and pulled back to second place. The Ferrari navigated through the simple corners relatively easily, but Raymond was going too fast for his own good. He soon reached 300km/h, and the Ferrari became practically undrivable, and on one of the corners, the rear end of his Ferrari spun out of control. “DAMN!” Raymond exclaimed, braking hard in order to regain control over his Ferrari. Kazuhiko did not waste such a precious chance and dashed ahead of the Ferrari, taking the lead for the second time.
“You are not gonna lose me that easily..” Raymond said, and chased the FD in front of him. That was the only thing important to him right now, to retake the lead and defeat the worthy opponent in front of him. Within seconds, the two cars reached the entrance to the Chiyoda tunnel, another difficult corner to negotiate. Kazuhiko again drifted through the corner, maintaining his speed. Raymond was getting increasingly frustrated, and his driving style was getting more reckless. There was already a considerable gap between the two cars, and Raymond realizes this.
“Hmph…will this be my first defeat in this Ferrari…?” Raymond thought to himself. As the two cars raced through the Chiyoda Tunnel, Raymond managed to calm himself down, and slowly, but surely, caught up to the FD in front of him. As they reached a moderately long straight road at the exit of the Chiyoda Tunnel, the power of his Ferrari took over, and he easily overtook the FD in front of him. “YES!” he yelled in happiness, at the prospect of yet another victory.
But the FD was not going to give up so easily. “You may outpace me…but you will NEVER outmaneuver me, Ferrari!” Kazuhiko exclaimed, slotting his car behind the Ferrari, attempting to slipstream, trying to prevent Raymond’s lead from increasing. The stunning sight of the Tokyo Tower greeted both racers, right after they passed through a sharp corner. The FD capitalized on the chance and managed to overcome any gap that existed between the two cars, placing the two cars side by side. “Why can’t I lose him..WHY?” Raymond wondered in frustration. He has never met a racer quite like Kazuhiko Aizawa before, and this experience frustrated him dearly. But…despite of everything…Raymond is enjoying the experience. He is loving every second of it. The adrenaline rush, the frustration, the feeling of not-knowing who is going to win or lose..everything. “Is this how a Wangan racer is supposed to feel…” Raymond pondered.
He quickly snapped out of it, as he saw the monorail lining on the road in front of him, which can only mean one thing… the Hamazakibashi junction is coming up, and the downward sloping corner that comes with it. “Hmph, I can’t let him retake the lead..” Raymond thought to himself. He had managed to obtain a sizeable lead over the FD in the straight road leading to the junction, but both he and Kazuhiko knows that with that one corner, the FD can overcome, if not overtake Raymond altogether.
The corner soon appeared. “It’s now or never!” Raymond thought aloud, taking a deep breath, and turned, trying hard to maintain his high velocity through the corner. “Man, I have to give it to him…his car positioning is perfect, although his car control is lacking.’ Kazuhiko said. In front of him, Raymond was forced to brake hard yet again, unable to maintain his initial cornering position, and was very close to totaling his Ferrari.
“My chance!” Kazuhiko exclaimed, drifting through the corner perfectly, reducing the gap between the two cars from nearly 100 meters to only a cars’ length between them. “Ferrari, this battle is mine!” Kazuhiko yelled, his car closing in on the Ferrari. But suddenly, from behind him, Kazuhiko could hear the all-too familiar sound of a RB26DETT machine closing in. The R34 Skyline practically glided through the corner of the Hamazakibashi Junction, and slotted itself between the Ferrari and the FD, flashing its lights toward the Ferrari in front of it.
‘WHAT THE…?!!!” Both Raymond and Kazuhiko exclaimed. Both were not expecting the arrival of the R… Who could the racer be????

Chapter 7 is up... I am in the mood today.
The Wangan Princess
North Ginza Area, Tokyo, 11:07 PM
The three cars raced through the Ginza area, the 550 Maranello Ferrari, the Nissan Skyline R34, and the Mazda FD3S RX-7, all gunning to be the number one racer. Moments ago, the race was only between the RX-7 and the Ferrari, but the R34 suddenly appeared, making it a three-way race, and rather unequal too. Both Raymond and Kazuhiko are formidable racers, but the R34 are matching up to them rather easily, and in fact, seem to be holding back a little bit.
“I don’t know what are your intentions…but I am not going to lose to you!!” Raymond roared. The three cars reached the S-corners of the Ginza area, and Raymond was leading, if only slightly, the race. The GT-R behind him took an outside line, attempting an out-in-out maneuver. “I’m not that easy!” Raymond muttered under his breath, cornering early to prevent the R from using the inner apex of the corner. “That’s very naïve of you, Ferrari..” Kazuhiko muttered, watching from behind the two cars in front of him jostled for first place. The R changed his position instantly, instead of taking the inner apex of the S corner, it cornered late, taking the outer apex of the corner, blocking the path of the Ferrari from taking the lead, and cornered quickly afterwards, taking the lead.
“Damn it…he is talented” Raymond grudgingly said, referring to the driver of the R34 in front of him. The racer has near perfect positioning, both blocking the path of the Ferrari, and taking the most optimum position for the next part of the S-corner. “Forgetting about me?!!” Kazuhiko bellowed, drifting through the S corner, and positioned the FD right beside the R. Raymond went from being race leader to dead last within one corner.
“What…what is going on here..?” Raymond thought to himself. It felt like a trance, dropping two positions within one corner. The R took the lead, having more power than the FD, which is blocking Raymond’s Ferrari, preventing him from catching up to the R. The three cars soon reached the latter half of the Ginza area, which contains three road dividers, making it highly dangerous. The R easily negotiated through these corners, maintaining high speed. The FD followed suit. Raymond knew very well that this could be his last chance to overtake anyone, as the race is about to finish very soon. “This is gonna be close….” Raymond muttered. Taking a deep breath, he pressed on the accelerator, passing through the left side of the divided road, while the FD and the R took the right side.
The upwards slope soon greeted them, leading to another road divider. This is a very dangerous corner for Raymond, who is moving at far too fast a speed to negotiate the corners successfully, and he could very well kill himself on the road dividers in front of him. “What is he trying to do, I wonder..” The driver of the R mused. Raymond, in an act of pure skill, drifted through the corner, missing the road divider by a hair’s width, taking position on the left. The R went into the right side of the divider, coming out at the same time as the Ferrari, side by side.
The three cars reached the Edobashi junction, and the R pulled ahead by a small margin, winning the race. Raymond’s heart was pounding hard, amazed at the move he just did… “Man…that was intense.” Raymond muttered. He was curious though…who is the driver of the R in front of him, who had defeated him with ease. The GT-R in front of him stopped at a café, and Raymond followed suit. Kazuhiko, who had tailed the two cars, after coming last in the race, stopped at the café as well.
The three cars parked side by side, and for the first time, Raymond stole a glance at the R, which was looking very different now that it is exposed to bright light.
“THE CAR IS PINK????!!!!’ Raymond yelled loudly, shocked.
“Is that a problem?” the driver of the R asked, standing at the entrance of the café. Raymond looked at her, and for the first time in his life, he could not utter a single word. The driver of the R was a breathtakingly beautiful redhead, with exotic looks and a perfectly sculpted body to die for. She was wearing a simple pink blouse, with a yellow thin vest covering it and a white mini-skirt. Even while dressing so simply, she still looked stunning, perhaps the most beautiful girl Raymond had ever laid his eyes on.
“Well, well, if it isn’t the R Princess…” Kazuhiko said as he walked towards Raymond. “Oh, famous am I?” the girl responded, chuckling. Kazuhiko’s voice pulled Raymond out of his trance, and he looked at Kazuhiko. “Excuse me, the R Princess?” he asked him. “Yes…she is a legend around these parts…The Pink R34 who went 38-0, all within 5 months. Well…39-0, now, I guess. Driven by none other than Miss Kallen Kouzuki, who is presently standing before you…” Kazuhiko explained. “Oh, by the way, Ferrari, my name is Kazuhiko Aizawa” he added, extending his hand. Raymond shook his hand. “I’m Raymond Yamazaki, call me Raymond.” he responded. “Oh, hmm, the owner of the Speed Addiction tuning house..? And so young too” Kallen, as that is her name, mused. “Heh, you ain’t so old either, princess” Kazuhiko said. “Why, thank you, Kazuhiko-kun, I’ll take that as a compliment. Oh, right, nice to meet you, Raymond-kun!” Kallen replied, while extending her hand. “Ohh…uhh, yeah, you too, Kallen-san” Raymond stuttered, shaking her hand. Her skin was incredibly soft, but she has a very strong grip. Raymond had never met a girl quite like this before.
“Please, please, don’t be so formal, chan or no honorific at all is fine, Raymond-kun.” she replied, chuckling at Raymond’s attitude. “Ohh…okay then, Kallen-sa…Kallen-chan, I mean.” Raymond stuttered yet again, nervous for the first time in his life. “Well, the night is still young, let’s go get a cup of coffee or something.” Kallen said. “I’m game, how about you, Raymond-kun?” Kazuhiko asked. “Hmm..? Oh yeah..sure.” Raymond replied, in a quite voice.
The three walked into the café.
It’s going to be a long night for Raymond Yamazaki…

| O_O Wow...
now that's a cool way to continue a battle... It feels so Nostalgic... as if it is Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune all over again... Why do I have this feeling that Ms.Kallen Kouzuki would become Raymond's love interest or the reason why he'd go for an R years later when Akiyama Chronicles start...?
Kazuhiko... placing third... well we can say that he isn't giving it his 100%. It is as if he just toyed around with them, though he's in full form.
That is an interesting and grueling battle, Paladinoras.
Is Kallen, gonna last long? I might make her ride with Schneider on Silverblood's upcoming act right after the upcoming update if she does...
I'll be waiting for the next update soon...
Man, while I was reading, I could 100% see at the back of my mind the actions moving... as if I am watching a Maximum Tune game with wicked revolving replay mode!! The Maranello going at C1, the FD gunning them... and the R34... before I knew that it was pink... yeah... it could be good for a screenshot... only if there's a game that has photo mode and holds an FD, R34, and Ferrari at one sitting to accomplish that...
|Posted by: Paladinoras Sep 13 2009, 07:08 PM|
Lol, well, partially, but I will PM you the details, so as not to ruin the story.
Lol, yeah, Kazuhiko at that time practically just wanted to watch the R and the Ferrari slug it out.
Lol, yeah...I wished there was a game with all three cars involved. Pity.

| Chapter 8
Like a Trance
Le Fascines Café, Wangan District, 11:15 PM
“No waaayyyy, your dad gave you a Ferrari for your 19th birthday???!!! You are so lucky, Raymond-kun!” Kallen exclaimed as Raymond explained how he managed to obtain such an expensive car. “Tell me about it…I had to work my ass off buying this FD…and it’s pretty old too.” Kazuhiko added. “I didn’t ask for it or anything…I would’ve bought it on my own eventually once I had enough money” Raymond responded. “Ohh, not a spoiled rich brat, now, are we? That’s nice.” Kallen commented as she slowly drank the hot chocolate she ordered.
The three Wangan racers were all sitting around a small metal table, attracting quite a substantial amount of attention from the patrons of the café. It is not everyday that you can see two good-looking foreigners sitting together on a table with a Japanese youngster. And considering one of them owns a Ferrari, it’s more of a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence than a rare event.
“Hmm…that blonde hair..is it dyed, Raymond-kun?” Kallen suddenly asked. “What? Oh, my hair. Nope, 100% natural, got it from my dad, I guess.” Raymond replied, running his fingers through his striking blonde hair. “How about you, Kallen-chan? That red hair natural?” Raymond asked her back, trying to make small talk. “Heh, well, my mom is from Britain…and my dad is Japanese…so who knows..?” she nonchalantly responded, looking intently at the chocolate cake she just ordered. “What kind of an answer is that???” Raymond said, incredulous. “It’s a seeeccrreeeettttt…” Kallen said, while winking at Raymond. ‘Ok, stop, stop, this is getting ridiculously stupid for me to handle.” Kazuhiko suddenly interrupted. “If you guys wanna talk about these kind of things, feel free to go on a date, but I am only interested in knowing about your cars at the present moment.” Kazuhiko said, an incredibly bored expression etched across his face.
“Geez, you are such a killjoy, Kazuhiko-kun, I was just getting to know Raymond-kun here..”
“As I said, I could care less, go on a date if you wanna get to know him”
“But that’s totally different, sides, it’s more romantic at the current moment, just look at the bright Wangan lights!!”
“Are…you seriously the R Princess? Did I mistake you for anyone here…?”
“What’s that supposed to mean??? Is it so wrong that I am a fun-loving person instead of a car-obsessed freak like you??”
“F-f-freak???!!! What the hell was that for? I am a car journalist, so it is only normal that I would like cars! It’s MY LIFE!!”
“I think you are in need of a girlfriend, Kazuhiko-kun..and fast.”
“WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING???!!!”
Raymond silently watched as the two talented drivers went into a verbal debate, a very childish one too, at that. Despite of her looks and attitude, Kallen is certainly one of the most, if not the most talented driver he had ever seen in his life, and using a Japanese car too, a car he considered inferior. There is more to her than meets the eye, Raymond thought to himself as he watched the two adults in front of him engage in a debate that is progressively getting dumber and dumber.
“Stop, both of you…you are giving me a headache!” Raymond shouted, unable to watch them argue any longer. “But…but, she insulted me! And a very hurtful one at that!” Kazuhiko spluttered. “Oh come on, don’t be such a girl, Kazuhiko-kun.” Kallen calmly commented. “For the love of god, both of you are in your what? Twenties already? Quit acting like a kid” Raymond tried to put some sense back in their heads. “I AM NOT IN MY TWENTIES!!!” Both of them uniformly declared. “I’ll have you know I am a fresh 19 year old, Raymond-kun!” Kallen pointed out. “And I am also 19 years old!” Kazuhiko added. “FINE, 19, I DON’T CARE, WHATEVER, JUST STOP ARGUING ALREADY!” Raymond bellowed. “Fine, fine, geez, I sure have FUN company tonight” Kallen sarcastically commented, taking her seat. “You started it.” Kazuhiko muttered while taking a seat as well.
I am surrounded by idiots, Raymond thought to himself. “Well, eitherway, if you wanna know about my car, I’ll be happy to tell you about it.” Raymond told Kazuhiko, who instantly sat up straight. “Gimme all the details…” Kazuhiko said, his eyes focused on Raymond. “Well…I didn’t do many modifications to the engine of the car…only Bore & Stroked it, and reprogrammed the ECU, I didn’t have time to install a turbo or anything of the sort.” Raymond recollected. “But I did modify the suspension, the brake calipers, and the transmissions. I changed the flywheel and the clutch, also added a driveshaft just in case.” He continued. “But how is that possible? I mean, where did you get the parts and the mechanics to do this kind of work?” Kazuhiko asked. “Well, a couple of months back someone came into my tuning house and he was using a 550 Maranello Ferrari as well…so we had to buy parts from Italy, and we still had leftover parts from that time, so my mechanic, Kazuhiko, just installed it to my car.” Raymond replied.
“God, you two are so boring, can’t you two possibly think of something else to say in the presence of a beautiful lady other than CARS?” Kallen suddenly spoke, sulking. “Well, I don’t give a rat’s..mmphhh” Kazuhiko was forced to stop from finishing, compliments of Raymond’s hand clamping down on his mouth. “How about your car, Kallen-chan? It seems that it is very powerful, what did you do to it?” Raymond quickly asked. “Hmm? Oh, I wouldn’t know, my dad takes care of that stuff, I just drive the car on the Wangan strip.” she answered. “Your dad??” Kazuhiko asked, right after moving Raymond’s hand away. “Yeah…he is the owner and the top mechanic of Noir Eclipse, his tuning shop.” Kallen mused. “Wait..your dad is…Shinchirou Kouzuki??? Of Noir Eclipse??” Kazuhiko asked, shocked. “That’s what I said, wasn’t it?” Kallen replied, annoyed.
Raymond was also taken aback by Kallen’s statement. Shinchirou Kouzuki is a legendary figure in the tuning house industry, also known as the Lightning Tuner for his innate ability to make any car reach its maximum potential, and moving as fast as lightning. No wonder her car was so demonically fast…he tuned it after all, Raymond thought to himself. He gave a small smile. “Finally, a worthy opponent…” Raymond muttered quietly to himself.
The three drivers continued to talk for another hour, after which they decided to call it quits and go home. Before Raymond walked into his car, Kallen slipped something into the pocket of his jeans and winked, before continuing to walk to her R and driving off into the night. “An interesting princess, now, isn’t she?” Kazuhiko asked Raymond, right after she left. “Heh..yeah, certainly.” Raymond answered, as he watched the rear lights of the R continue to fade away…

| Long chapter...Teh epic DATE CHAPTER!!! Hahaha
This Is Not A Date
Harajuku District, Tokyo, 11:54 AM
The famous shopping district in Tokyo was incredibly crowded, thousands of people walking around back and forth along the streets, carrying large plastic bags filled with their purchases. Girls wearing strange clothes posed for pictures, some looking like a Victorian Era princess, some looking like anime characters. An interesting sight, one might say, unique to Japan’s diverse culture. And in the middle of the Harajuku District, a blonde Japanese-American stood still, observing all that is happening around him, not uttering a single word.
“I never liked this place..” he muttered to himself. He never understood the place’s appeal. There are never any interesting cars anywhere near the area, and all you can do is shop. The blonde man, like most non XX-chromosomed human beings, only shops for clothes when necessary, and generally, that means never, considering his mom buys him more clothes than he will ever wear, and all keeping to the latest fashion trends as well, so he does not need to worry about looking out of style. Sighing all the while, Raymond, as it can only be him, then proceeded to walk along Takeshita Street, looking for a McDonald parlor. All the shops around him sold a variety of products, mostly counterfeited Japanese and American street goods.
“Bloody hell, next time I am gonna decide where we meet.” Raymond thought to himself, as he ordered a Big Mac Package and sat on a chair, resting his head on his curled fist, feeling completely out of his comfort zone. “At this rate, I am gonna go crazy before she comes..” Raymond said, munching on the grossly oversized burger he just ordered. He inserted his hand into his pocket and took out a small piece of paper, given by Kallen Kouzuki, the R Princess. He re-read the note, perhaps for the hundredth time already.
Meet me at the Harajuku District, Takeshita-Dori, McDonald at noon tomorrow, k?
P.S Leave killjoy over there-alone. =.=”
“Is she really gonna show up?” Raymond grumbled. He recollected the conversation he had with his sister in the morning.
“My onii-chan is going on a date??? Yaaayyy!!! Good job, nii-san, I hope she is pretty!!!” Yui had exclaimed excitedly when Raymond had told her about his plans for the day. “It’s nothing like that, Yui… I barely knew the girl before today.” Raymond had replied, blushing slightly. “AH-HA, you are blushing!! That means that this girl must have some meaning to you after all! So sweeettt ~~~” Yui trailed off, closing her eyes and grinning like an idiot. “Wh-what, cut that out, what the hell is with that face? IT’S NOT A DATE, I SWEAR!!!” Raymond quickly replied, obviously flustered by Yui’s words.
I told Yui that…but come to think of it, isn’t this basically like a date..? This place is famous for its date spots after all, Raymond thought to himself. However, his moment of deep contemplation was cut short by Kallen Kouzuki’s voice, who had suddenly appeared behind Raymond. “BOO!” Kallen yelled, while grabbing Raymond’s shoulders. Raymond, who was drinking Coca-Cola at the time, nearly jumped out of his seat. As it stands now, all he did was violently shake the Cola he was holding, resulting in it getting spilled all over the place, mostly on him. An incredibly wet, annoyed, and agitated Raymond Yamazaki stood up and faced Kallen, who was laughing loudly, failing to notice the expression on Raymond’s face at all. “Hahaha, Oh my god, Raymond-kun, if only you could see the look on your face, hahahahaha!” Kallen continued to laugh, holding her stomach. Raymond’s eye twitched uncontrollably, and in an act of retribution, he took the chocolate ice cream that came with the burger and stuck it on Kallen’s head.
“EYY, WHAT THE HELL?’ she screamed in shock. “My god, that was so mean, Raymond-kun, do you have any idea how long it took for me to get my hair done?’ Kallen quickly wiped off the ice cream off of her head, grabbed a handful of tissues and tried her best to remove any traces of ice cream left on her hair. “Tsch, you started it.” Raymond retorted, still dripping wet with cola. “That was just a joke, man, sides, it’s not THAT bad, a girl’s hair is her LIFE!!” Kallen countered, dismissing Raymond’s complaint. “What the….? Stupid girl..” Raymond muttered under his breath. “I heard that.” Kallen said, an annoyed look on her face. “Well, eitherway, you look terrible with all that cola on your shirt… hmm, well, it IS the Harajuku district after all… Come with me, we’ll get you some new clothes.” She added, and not waiting for a reply, she walked out of the shop and ran down Takeshita street. “What have I gotten myself into now…” Raymond thought to himself, as he followed her, running along the streets of Harajuku.
The pair, after walking for a while, eventually stopped at a boutique near the end of Takeshita street. Well, in all actuality, Kallen did, and Raymond just followed. “Hmm, Raymond-kun, you are pretty tall…you’re a great model to play dress-up on!” Kallen said enthusiastically. “W-w-wait, what? Did you just say dress-up?” Raymond replied, a tad flustered by her remark. “I sure did” Kallen then proceeded to dash around the boutique, picking up clothes, trousers, accessories, and shoes. “Here, try these on” Kallen told Raymond, as she handed him a large pile of merchandise. “I’m gonna go to the bathroom and clean my hair, you try those clothes on, alrite?” Before Raymond could utter a word in reply, she dashed off into the bathroom. “Crazy over-energetic hyperactive girl..” Raymond muttered. He scanned through the objects he are holding quickly. Raymond is not the type to care about fashion, and is pragmatic, preferring to wear clothes that he is comfortable with instead of those that are ‘in-style’ or ‘cool’. Therefore, within 3 minutes, he already picked the clothes he wanted to wear, and quickly changed into them. He looked at his reflection in the mirror. He was wearing a white shirt, unbuttoned, with a red T-shirt underneath, together with a pair of branded jeans. He walked out of the changing room, and Kallen was waiting in front, drying her hair with a towel. “WOOOWWW, Raymond-kun, you look so handsome now!” Kallen exclaimed. “Eh…really.. uhh, thanks.” Raymond replied, blushing furiously. “Well, I don’t need clothes, so pay for that, and let’s go!” Kallen said, jumping up from her seat.
“And you’re paying, of course.” Raymond calmly stated.
“EHH, NO WAY! Why should I pay for it???” Kallen replied, indignant.
“Because…you destroyed my earlier outfit….?”
“That’s not fair, Raymond-kun, how is it MY fault that you have a weak grip on your soda?”
“W-w-what? I wouldn’t NEED to hold it so strong if you hadn’t come up from behind and shocked me!”
“Ahh, would’ve, could’ve, should’ve, whattevvveerr, sides, you’re the rich one here…”
“That’s not the issue here! And if you can afford to tune your R until it can match up to my Ferrari, then paying for my clothes shouldn’t be that big of a deal.”
“That’s not even a decent comparison, I love my R way more than you!”
“Oh, fine, just shut up already!” Raymond relented, taking out his wallet and pulling out a few 10 000 yen bills to pay for his clothes.
“Ahaha, you are so fun to play with, Raymond-kun” Kallen mischievously commented.
“Why am I feeling so idiotic right now…” Raymond muttered, and walked out of the boutique.
The two strolled down the streets of Harajuku yet again, with new clothes and dry ice-cream free hair. “Mmm, I’m hungry, let’s go eat!” Kallen pulled at Raymond’s hand and dragged him down to a ramen shop, named Hagakure. “I’ll have a Hagakure Bowl please, and umm, what do you want, Raymond-kun?” Kallen asked. “I’ll pass, I already ate at McDonalds just now” he replied. “Okay then, your loss, one Hagakure bowl it is!” Kallen yelled her order at the chef, who instantly cut some meat. Now that the two are finally standing still, Raymond turned around and was about to say something to Kallen, when the same speechless sensation struck him again. Kallen looked stunning as usual today, sporting a white tanktop, layered by a short sports jacket, as well as hot pants. Her hair, despite having ice cream on it a few minutes prior, still looked marvelous, with the unique red colour that it possessed. It is amazing how such a simple outfit could drive Raymond speechless, especially because he encounters beautiful women on a daily basis. Raymond quickly shook his head to regain his composure, and asked her the question that has been nagging him since last night.
“So, Kallen-san, what made you race on the streets of Wangan?” Raymond asked, trying to sound casual. “Hmm…well, I loved my R, and wanted to test out its performance in comparison to the many other fast cars out there, and there really is no better place for that purpose than Wangan, wouldn’t you agree?” Kallen explained. “I see… but Kazuhiko said that you went 38-0 within 5 months. That’s an amazing feat, are you seriously just testing your car?” Raymond questioned her further. “Heh, well, I promised myself that I would stop racing if anyone ever beats me… and nobody did. So….I just kept on racing.” Kallen recollected. “Will you be the one to take down the R Princess, Raymond-kun?” Kallen nonchalantly asked, looking at Raymond straight in the eyes.
Needless to say, Raymond’s heart skipped a beat.
But of course, forever calm and collected, Raymond merely chuckled. “Of course, I can promise you that.” said Raymond, rather cockily. “Ahaha, then I better not lose to anyone else before you beat me then.” Kallen retorted.
And before they knew it, it was already 11 pm at night. The two were both sitting on the hoods of their cars, watching the stars from the hills of the Hakone mountain road. “Wanna go for a quick run down Wangan?” Raymond offered. Kallen thought about it for a short while, then promptly refused. “Sorry…but I have something to do tonight, maybe next time, ok, Raymond-kun?” Kallen replied. She jumped into her R and was about to drive off, before suddenly moving in reverse and rolling down her windows. “Oh yeah, thanks for the date, Raymond-kun, I had loads of fun!” she said cheerfully, blushing ever so slightly. “It’s not a …” Raymond stopped himself. “Ehh, I mean, I had a lot of fun too, let’s do this again sometime.” he corrected himself. “Sure, call me, ok, you have my number” Kallen said, winking at Raymond, before her R lunged forward and gracefully glided down Hakone.
So I guess in the end Yui was right after all… I wonder where this is gonna lead to, Raymond thought to himself, when suddenly, another car parked itself beside Raymond’s Ferrari. The driver came out, and said the words Raymond had been relishing to hear the whole day.

| Aww... How sweet... in a comic kind of way... Scenes like this remind me of the time in my story when...
- Tomo is with his best friends Hiei and Ryusen
- Kasumi nursed him by carrying a big-ass syringe to dextrose him
- When Natsumi kept on making Tomo look like a fool
- Oh! And when I made Tomo rip his pants... then his undies in broad daylight, driving all the other guy friends nuts and WTF!?!
Looks like Kallen has the hots for Raymond too. I can tell pretty well. Raymond is definitely denying it.
To make sure I get the picture of Kallen right (since I have Raymond and Kazuhiko well pictured out in my head as I read), mind if you show a reference shot of her? or if you can draw good... a drawing of her.
Speaking of Raymond... I have an updated and cooler drawing of him in a quartet art (He, Daiki, Chloe, and Seiji) that I still have to photoshop. Once it is done, I'll post it up on my thread and PM you.
Now who could that mysterious racer be...? And I bet it isn't Kazuhiko. He's not that snobbish to say to somebody let's race for no reason...
|Posted by: Paladinoras Sep 22 2009, 08:12 PM|
Yeah, lol, I purposely made it comic, I like it better that way.
Hmm, a picture of Kallen?
Let me try to find one, I might be able to come up with one.
Hmm to tell you the truth, I still haven't named the mysterious racer.
Hahaha, but no worries, chapter 10 will feature a Ferrari in Touge racing!! YEAH!!
And Raymond is not denying it...more like he doesn't understand what is going on, his head is filled with cars. Hahaha
|Posted by: Paladinoras Sep 28 2009, 06:10 AM|
Should look something like that.
If you watch any anime, you should very well know who she is, I did base my character off of her, as she is my favourite character.
And Raymond's GTR should look like the one in my sig, except for the colour being white instead of pale grey.
|Posted by: Gunma's 34 Sep 28 2009, 06:40 PM|
| O_O wow. She's cute, i can tell you that. And wow... talk about coincidence. Raymond's GTR in your sig resembles Tomo's GT-R (except the rims, mines are BBS types and is blue).
Hmm... this gives me an idea. In (SPOILER WARNING) SPEED LEGEND V - The final portion of my series... Tomo returns to Japan after a fight with Daiki and leaving the team (he stayed with the Argentine queen for 3 months afterwards).
He returns to his roots and starts building rep even at the Wangan. I'd like Raymond to have 2 GTRs at this point: One based on your sig GTR and another one - a Mines R34 tune with the same rims. Tell me, which rims did you select in that GTR sig of yours?
Plus, I'd like Raymond to be the welcoming party to Tomo on the Wangan aside from his cousin-sister, who drives an FD. Mind if i? And they'll be having a match at Hakone (TXRD2) as well, where Kallen would show herself too (her pink GTR would be a C-west mod though, it's the only bodykit upgrade available for an R34 ) Will it be alright? Oh, and please check Supido Densetsu S and leave a comment on what you think of it, I'll be updating it in a little while too.
Very nice reference!!
|Posted by: Paladinoras Sep 28 2009, 10:07 PM|
Ahaha, yeah, she is, isn't she? I love that hair colour, but it should be more red, in all actuality.
And if you want Raymond to have two GT-Rs, I would prefer that his second one would be the new GT-R, white, of course, I'll PM you the specs. I am not sure what the timeframe is, but his car should be that if the GT-R has been released in your story.
The rims on my sig is the Yokohama Super Advan RS, btw.
And of course, my character stems from your story, so feel free to use them, as long as they stay in character. Hahaha.
And I already checked out parts of Speed Densetsu S, it's pretty good, as far as I can see. Different, but good.
|Posted by: Gunma's 34 Sep 29 2009, 12:13 AM|
| Okay. The R35 will be out by Speed Legend V. It's also one of the cars of the Abolished (yes, another spoiler) clan... with one of them carrying an illegally, GOD-LIKE modified R35, with his minions: an Evo X, The new Impreza [wagon like in WMMT3dx], and the 370Z, all modded the same way - wreaking havoc down the Wangan, proving their worth to the king, they haven't known yet. But they do know Tomo's existence as the Pawn, who WAS supposed to be eliminated by the Prince, Daiki, who failed back in Hawaii.
And the timeframe is around 2008, when the 370 is just out.
Super Advan eh... putting things that way... and since TXRD2 doesn't have the Nismo body kit... i'll add that to my list and use that instead in place of the Mines in battling Tomo at Hakone. (These'll all come right after the ER34 vs FD3S RE Amemiya II - AH, yes. another spoiler battle coming up after Speed Densetsu S and Z)
You can check it now, it's updated
|Posted by: Paladinoras Sep 29 2009, 05:55 AM|
Ahaha, yeah, awesome. I am loving the thought of his R35.
Well, do what you think is right. Hahaha.
|Posted by: R_E_X Oct 2 2009, 04:03 AM|
|She's Kallen Stadtfeld from Code Geass, right?|
|Posted by: Paladinoras Oct 2 2009, 06:33 AM|
Yeah, she is. I based my character of off her.
Well, actually, only her name and her appearance. Their personalities are quite different.
Well, not really different, but not a carbon copy either. Hahaha
|Posted by: R_E_X Oct 2 2009, 05:42 PM|
|which persona did you use? she is a frail and soft character on the outside, but when she fights as a warrior for resistance, her personality turns 180 degrees|
|Posted by: Paladinoras Oct 2 2009, 07:36 PM|
Neither, I pretty much created a new personality, but I mostly use her ASS-KICKING-PILOT-AWESOMENESS side.
Cause it's just that awesome.
|Posted by: Gunma's 34 Oct 7 2009, 06:24 PM|
| I got something that you'd like...
Here's a shot of Kallen's BNR34!! It's running down the high speed touge - Kirigamine.
As a bonus, I have a shot of Makoto Morishita's ®* Z32. Not quite sure though if I got the rims right...
Anyway... Enjoy... My update though would be a little late than expected as I have the comics of my latest Supido Densetsu S... no I mean Z... on the way (chapter 94) to be uploaded...
|Posted by: Paladinoras Oct 9 2009, 01:17 AM|
What game is it anyways? Never seen anything like it.
And Makoto's Z32 is way off, dude, it is supposed to have a GT Wing and such. Not sure about rims dude. Hahaha
|Posted by: Gunma's 34 Oct 9 2009, 05:29 AM|
| It HAS A GT wing. the only thing the game provides are universal thin typed ones. And I know hers ain't balanced in the centers but on the edges. The pic's colors just 'hides' the GT wing but it is there.
And the game is Kaido Touge no densetsu (JP) aka Tokyo Xtreme Racer Drift 2 (US)
|Posted by: Paladinoras Oct 9 2009, 08:10 AM|
Ahh, I see.
Is the game for the PS2?
|Posted by: Gunma's 34 Oct 11 2009, 07:47 PM|
|It Is for the PS2... far by the best looking and playable game next to Initial D Special Stage, Test Drive Unlimited, and of Course, Gran Turismo 4!!|
|Posted by: Paladinoras Oct 11 2009, 08:05 PM|
Meh too bad my PS2 is scrapped.
And it's prolly gonna take a while before chapter 10 comes out... I got friggin mid-tests.
|Posted by: Paladinoras Oct 21 2009, 06:48 AM|
| Chapter 10 is 60% complete... Been real busy. But the story will go on, I won't let it die.

Hakone’s Dark Prince
“Let’s race” Those words echoed around Raymond’s head. Without a moment’s hesitation, Raymond stood up and nodded his head. He looked closely at the man who challenged him. He was quite tall for the average Japanese. Raymond, being 6 foot 1, is generally taller than 70% of the people he meets on the street, but the man in front of him easily matches him, if not taller. Raymond could not examine his face however, as it is hidden underneath a racing helmet, common among professional race drivers. He could only see his eyes, with his visor being in a raised position. And his eyes were quite fearsome.
“Name’s Raymond Yamazaki, nice to meet you” Raymond said as he extended his hand to the man. The man looked at his hand for a while, and walked back to his car, refusing to shake Raymond’s hand. “If you can beat me…I’ll tell you my name.” he said in a hoarse voice, opening the door to his car. Raymond stared at his car. It was an FD, like Kazuhiko Aizawa’s…except that it was a Bathurst Type R, instead of the older R1 version. The car was fitted with a RE Amemiya bodykit, Enkei JS+M rims, and a bright red paintjob. “Hmph, fine, be that way, I am gonna smoke you” Raymond thought to himself, as he entered his car as well.
The two cars lined up, side by side, along the narrow streets of Hakone. There was no one to mark when the race starts… it was a stand-off, whoever moves first gets the advantage. Inside the Ferrari, Raymond was fiddling around with the transmission stick of his car. “Well, if you’re not gonna start, I sure as hell am not gonna wait for you!” he yelled, shifting to first gear and pressed down on the accelerator paddle, hurling his powerful Ferrari down into the mountain roads of Hakone. The race had begun…
A pink R34 was making its way down the roads of Hakone, at a time that would shame even the best touge drifters in Japan. In fact, the R has already outdrifted four cars within 5 minutes. Kallen was feeling incredibly bored, however. “Where is the fun in this, I wonder… I can’t reach speeds of over 250 km/h unless if I have a death wish, I need to brake every 10 seconds, and all the trees look alike.” she thought to herself, then quickly braked, shifted to third gear, and drifted through a sharp corner smoothly. “AHH, this is too frustrating… I am gonna get some coffee!” she muttered angrily to no one, and stopped by a parking lot nearby, buying a can of coffee at a nearby vending machine. Leaning against the door of her R, she slowly drank the hot coffee. “Today…was fun.” Kallen chuckled lightly as the mental image of Raymond soaked in cola returned to her head. I wonder if he feels the same way, Kallen silently pondered. Raymond is an incredibly kind and loyal person, once you get to know him, but he has an incredibly icy exterior, a byproduct of being called a gaijin since he was little, due to his striking blond hair and American father. Of course, being handsome, a lot of girls had tried…and subsequently failed, to try to make him their boyfriend. Kallen was the only girl who had ever managed to date Raymond so far. The same goes for Kallen. Despite having incredibly good looks, no man has ever managed to court her successfully, as she is too preoccupied with her car 90% of the time she spent awake. Such things also do not interest her, until now. She gazed at the stars above her. “I guess every princess has her own prince.” She mused, smiling. Whatever thoughts she might have had though, were cut short by the synchronized sound of a rotary engine and a V12 Ferrari engine.
“Damn it, what the hell is going on here???!!!” Raymond braked hard as a sharp hairpin corner approached. The FD in front of him drifted through the corner with ease. “Damn…at this rate, he is gonna leave me in the dust.” Raymond pressed on the accelerator pedal even harder, trying to make up for lost time. But it was pointless, whatever ground he made in the limited number of straight roads available in Hakone, the FD would increase the gap yet again after a corner. The Ferrari’s overflowing power became a disadvantage rather than an advantage on the mountain roads. Raymond have to brake to a near stop in order to negotiate a corner without crashing, and this is costing him the race.
“I am not gonna give up so easily though.” Raymond thought to himself. “After this, there is a long series of simple S-corners…I can overtake him there if I drive properly..” Another hairpin corner appeared in front of him. The gap between the two cars increased even further. “Damn it, if his lead keeps increasing, I’ll need a straight road the size of Wangan to catch up to him…” The reprieve that he so desperately wanted came soon after though, a straight road followed by a few S corners.
“It’s now or never!” Raymond shifted to fifth gear and pressed down hard on the accelerator. His Ferrari lurched forward, like a panther about to seize its prey. The S-turns approached fast. The FD in front of him easily drifted through the corners, sequentially, no less, maintaining his speed and line easily. Watching the car drift is not much different compared to observing a painting in the Louvre, or seeing Rodin’s famous sculpture…they are all beautiful works of art. Raymond however, have no time to admire the drift as he tried feverishly to catch up to the FD. Left corner…Right corner, short straight…left corner, right corner…. the two cars battled fiercely. Raymond, for the first time in the race, had a small advantage with his more powerful engine. The S corners did not really require significant amounts of cornering, so he could drive it down the road at a relatively faster speed compared to the FD. However, Raymond was taking a gigantic risk as well, driving his car recklessly, to the point where his car is mere milimetres away from the mountain barriers of Hakone. A slight mistake could mean a freefall down the mountain, and in all probability, death.
None of those mattered the the blonde driver behind the Ferrari. It was either victory or nothing at all. His dangerous driving however, granted him results, as his Ferrari are now mere inches away from overtaking the FD. And the remaining kilometre of the Hakone track has no more hairpin corners for the FD to increase the lead again. A left corner approached, and the FD drifted, covering the inner part of the corner. “Tsch, you are not gonna beat me that easy!” Raymond marginally let go of the gas to give him some space and yanked the steering wheel right, and quickly countersteered, using the Ferrari’s gigantic power output to try and pass the FD from the outer part of the corner. The last corner of the race, a long right corner approached. The actions each driver takes will decide who wins the race.
“You lose this race, FD!” Raymond yelled out, confident that the Ferrari’s more powerful engine will allow him to pass the FD. And he did, passing the FD with relative ease, and braked quickly, trying to lose as little speed as possible. “Brash. You lose this race.” the driver of the FD muttered. Raymond’s main plan was to overtake the FD, then block the road so that the FD could not regain the lead even if he tried. However, he doesn’t know that the FD could accelerate as it drifts, due to the perfect line it has taken in the previous corner. The driver of the FD did not take the inside part of the corner to block Raymond, but instead, to prepare for the last corner of the race. The FD’s rotary engine roared and instantaneously passed by the Ferrari, which had to brake.
Needless to say, the FD won the race. “DAMN!” Raymond punched his steering wheel. “I thought I had him! I thought this Ferrari was invincible!” He sighed loudly and parked at a lot nearby. The FD was also parked there, it’s driver leaning against the door, his helmet off. Raymond stepped out of his Italian powerhouse and looked at the face of the man who had defeated him. He was a handsome person, but he had this brooding, sad look on his face which made him look more depressed than handsome. Something was oddly familiar about him though, but Raymond could not indicate what it is.
“Good race.” Raymond tried to initiate a conversation. “Hmph, decent, I suppose, but you have ways to go before being a true racer.” The man replied, with an uncaring tone. “True, true” Raymond nodded. “But you have awesome Hakone skills…do you come here every night?” he asked. “Yeah…but it is very rare that someone could last as long as you did. Usually after a couple of corners, they are already out of sight. You’re not very good at touge racing though…” the man commented. “I’m a Wangan racer, I am not supposed to be good at touge!” Raymond replied, indignant. The man waved his hand dismissively. “A real racer is good in any track, be it a circuit, a mountain road, or Wangan. If you can’t do that, don’t bother racing at a..” “You talk too much, I would’ve smoked you already on Wangan.” Raymond interrupted, annoyed by the man’s condescending tone. “Foolish rookie, who do you think you are??!!” The FD driver stood up, his eyes flaring. The air between them was electric and two might have gone into a fistfight right then and there, if not for the sound of an RB26DETT engine. The pink R34 came and parked beside the two cars. Kallen gracefully stepped out of the car and looked at the two men in front of her.
“Brother, you should seriously learn how to socialize better.”

| Here it is.. Chapter 11
Light and Darkness
“B-b-brother??!!!” Raymond spluttered as he heard Kallen say those words. “You can’t be talking about..about…HIM?” Raymond said, pointing at his rival, who looked at him venomously. “You know of him, Kallen?” he questioned Kallen, who was standing beside Raymond, her arms crossed across her chest. “Well, yeah, with a car like that, he is kinda hard to miss on the Wangan strip, you know.” Kallen then turned towards Raymond. “Sides, what do you think I’ve been doing all day?” said Kallen, grinning. Raymond could feel his face heating up, and quickly looked away, evading her gaze. “What do you say we all go to a cafe or something? This is a bad place to have a conversation in.” Kallen offered. “I’m cool with that.” Raymond replied, looking at the stars above him. Kallen turned to her brother. “What about you, nii-san?” The man looked at Kallen, and sighed loudly. “Fine, I guess I’ll tag along with you kids for a while…” he muttered.
15 minutes later…
Persephone Cafe, Outskirts of Wangan, 11:45 PM
The three racers sat around a small circular table, which was filled with assorted cakes and drinks, ranging from Kallen’s brother’s black coffee to Kallen’s strawberry milkshake. Raymond looked at the two, darting his eyes from one to the other.
“I can sort of see the family resemblance…but they are so different,” he thought to himself. “But…the way they take corners…and their lines, they are nearly identical.”
“So, Kallen, how did you meet Blondie over there?” Kallen’s brother questioned her. “Oh come on, brother, be more mature, just because he nearly beat you in your favourite track, don’t think of him in a bad way.” Kallen responded, annoyed at her brother. “Oh yeah, Raymond, by the way, my brother’s name is Naoto Kouzuki, also known as the Dark Prince of Hakone.” Raymond’s eyes widened at that statement. “H-h-h-HE is the Dark Prince of Hakone???!!!” said Raymond, incredulous. “Why do you look so surprised? What, I’m not good enough for you? Hmph! I’ll tell you something…” Before Naoto could finish his sentence, Kallen quickly interrupted him. “As you can see, he’s not very sociable, Raymond-kun, so bear with him for a while” Kallen told Raymond. The blonde racer merely shrugged, and sipped on his coffee. “Well…this is gonna be awkward.” Kallen thought to herself.
And indeed it was, with Raymond and Naoto engaging in a staredown, each looking at the other indignantly, not saying a word. To Kallen, who was sitting between the two people he cared for, the silence was almost unbearable. Everytime she tried to strike up a conversation, either Raymond or Naoto would give a one-word, uncaring answer, and continue staring at each other. The atmosphere was electric; it was obvious that these two were not meant to get along.
“I’m leaving. This is pointless.” Naoto finally said, rising from his seat and walked towards the door, leaving Raymond and Kallen alone at the table. “Tsch, I bet he is a social outcast.” Raymond sneered, mocking him. “Don’t talk about my brother like that!” Kallen scolded Raymond, looking at him directly in the eyes.
“It’s hardly my fault, he couldn’t accept that he beat me on a technicality!” Raymond argued.
“But he did beat you now, didn’t he?”
“We both know there is no such thing as luck in a street race. It’s either you win or you don’t.”
“Oh, defending your brother, now are you?? You weren’t even THERE!”
“It’s a pretty simple equation here, Raymond-kun, my brother is better than me…and you can’t even beat me, so that means my brother is better than you.”
“It was in bloody Hakone!!”
“A racer gotta be good at all tracks. No point being a one-track racer.”
“Fine, BE THAT WAY!” Raymond yelled at Kallen, standing up and angrily stormed out of the café, slamming the door behind him. Kallen sighed, looking at her drink pensively as the sound of Raymond’s Ferrari can be heard throughout the café, as it blasts through the café’s exit…
Chihiro, Raymond’s faithful secretary was knee-deep in unfinished paperwork, which means yet another lat e night doing them to cover her boss from getting fired by his dad. Business has been booming in Raymond’s shop, due to the recent release of a street-racing themed film called The Fast and The Furious. Many Wangan racers, well, ricers, to be exact, have come to the shop looking for body kits, oversized rims, underside neons, and of course, incredibly flashy and colorful decals and stickers to decorate their car with. Needless to say, all of those items are all unnecessary and useless in a real race, and Raymond personally detests people who buy them, but business must go on, and so he reluctantly puts them up for sale in his tuning house.
And they are selling like hotcakes.
Over the past few weeks, the Speed Addiction tuning house has received more orders for parts compared to the amount of orders they received from the past three months combined. Needless to say, the shop is earning a substantial amount of money, but the absurd amount of orders also leaves behind a gigantic amount of paperwork which requires validation and authentication. And with his boss being out all day, doing something which Chihiro strongly disapproves of, that leaves the efficient secretary to do all of the paperwork by herself yet again. Raymond probably handles all the unfinished paperwork in his office once every 2 months if Chihiro is lucky, and that simply won’t do with the amount of orders the shop is receiving.
After reading through some 40-odd orders for body kits, Chihiro took off her glasses and yawned. She looked around the empty office, sighing. “Wouldn’t kill him to come to his office once every blue moon, instead of lurking in Harajuku chasing after some chick.” Chihiro grumbled. “I mean, he is turning 20 soon! He has got to learn some responsibility, I can’t always do this for him!” Despite all of her complaints, however, the emotion Chihiro is feeling is neither anger over having to do huge amounts of work, nor is it irritation over Raymond’s glaring lack of attendance. She is used to both. The emotion is jealousy.
When she heard the news that Raymond was going out on an apparent date with some girl he met on the Wangan strip, Chihiro was fuming. She didn’t exactly know why, after all, her boss is at an age where he very well should be dating, and it is quite rare to see him do something non-car related, so Chihiro should be glad instead of angry. But she’s not, not even close. She knows that probably, nothing can ever happen between her and Raymond, but she can’t let go. No matter how she tries to bury her feelings for her young workmate, it always resurfaces, and this time, it’s not going to fade so easily.
It’s time for Chihiro to pay Raymond a visit at his natural habitat, the Wangan Expressway.

| Incredibly late, i know... Been over a month, OMG, didn't even realize it..
Well, here's to chapter 12
An Unexpected Meeting
Wangan Expressway, June 28th, 11:45 PM
A blood red Nissan Silvia S15 dashed down the Wangan strip, its SR20DETT engine making a fearsome noise as it barrels down the Wangan strip at nearly 298 km/h, a rather astronomical speed for an S15. Inside the car, a beautiful Japanese woman was handling the car easily, unafraid of breaking the 300km/h speed barrier, unlike most hashiriyas out there. But none of that concerns her, she only has one target in mind, and he is proving to be an elusive catch. ..
Further down the strip, a white Ferrari 550 Maranello, bone stock, except for a rollcage underneath the chassis, was engaged in a heated three-way battle against a blue Mazda RX-7 and a metallic black Nissan Skyline R32 S-Tune, modified to perfection by Raymond’s own tuning house. “Damn, Kazuhiko tuned his FD well” Raymond muttered to himself as he shifted to 5th gear. The blue FD behind his FD has certainly transformed a great deal since the last time they met, equipped with a brand new and significantly more powerful turbine. And Kazuhiko loves every minute of it. “Should go up to 610HP now… I can keep up with Raymond’s Ferrari even on the Wangan strip” thought Kazuhiko. “Still lacking on top speed though” As both cars reached 300km/h, it is obvious that the Ferrari has a distinct advantage, its speed still increasing at a steady rate, while Kazuhiko’s FD has a hard time reaching 310km/h. The R32 S-Tune, however, was keeping up with the Ferrari easily, even outpacing it a little.
“679 horsepower at the wheels, a Garrett Twin Turbo kit equipped, HKS suspensions, Blitz Clutch and Transmission set, Nismo custom exhaust, and Volk CE28N rims equipped… That car is a magnificent beast… No wonder they call it Godzilla.” mused Kazuhiko as the R32 and the Ferrari pulls away from him. “This is as far as I can go, better be safe than sorry.”, Kazuhiko yelled to the walkie talkie in the seat beside him and quickly released his foot from the accelerator pedal, his car slowing down to a speed of 280km/h. The Ferrari and R32 however, have no intention of following after the FD.
“Faster…faster!” Raymond spluttered, shifting to 6th gear and watched on as the needle of his speedometer ran out of space and made a ticking noise as it hits against the bottom of the speedometer chamber. “Heh, even the Ferrari is not designed to run at this speed, huh…. Well, too late to stop now!” Raymond pressed on the accelerator pedal even harder and the R32 was gradually left behind, unable to keep up with the white 550 Maranello.
A police car was parked at the exit of the Hamazakibashi junction, the driver nearly falling asleep as cars slowly passed in front of him. The speed detector on the dashboard of the car was designed to inform the driver if anyone passed the 100km/h speed limit…and so far, it has not beeped even once. Nothing interesting ever happens here, thought the police officer. As if the heavens had heard of his complaint, a flash of white passed by his car, followed by a black ball of lightning. The speed detector in his dashboard went crazy, beeping wildly. The policeman looked at the LED display, which read 350km/h, in blue. He gulped. If he remembered correctly, the trainer at the traffic police academy had said that if the numbers were written in blue…that means there was an overflow error, which equates to the cars moving at a speed exceeding 350km/h. His eyes were wide open now, and the thought of chasing after the criminals crossed his mind…until he recollected that his patrol car can only reach 200km/h, at maximum. “Well, not much I can do about that then..” he muttered, then leaned back on his seat and went back to sleep.
Raymond’s run on the Wangan strip, in the meantime, ended as he stopped on the Daikoku Futo parking lot. The R32 S-tune followed soon after, its engine puffing out large quantities of smoke, barely being able to reach the parking lot, and broke down soon after it positioned itself beside Raymond’s Ferrari. The driver, a young 20 year old man with bleached, spiked up hair, stepped out of the car. “The car needs work, boss.” he managed to say in between his coughing fits. “Baka, you forced it to reach 337km/h, what do you expect??!!” Raymond retorted, his eyes staring straight at the driver. “Maybe you should refrain from joining me on my Wangan trips anymore, Keisuke.”
“What, what, what??? No WAYYYYY, I love the adrenaline rush, the feeling of going fast!! Don’t take that away from MEEE!!” the man apparently named Keisuke whined. Raymond gave a small grin and walked towards the R32. “Let’s see now....you blew the exhaust manifold, the carburetor looks messed up, and the intercooler exploded…..I’d say you messed up pretty bad.” Raymond said loudly as he walked around the car. “Well, it’s partially your fault, boss, if you hadn’t gone so fast, I wouldn’t need to push the car that hard!!” Keisuke argued. Raymond glared at him in response.
“And just when did I tell you to race me? Hmmm?” Raymond mockingly commented. “Ehh…uhhh….ne..ver?” Keisuke stammered as he realized the flaw of his whole argument. Shaking his head, Raymond spoke again. “I’ll let you off the hook this time… Bring the car back to the shop, tell Kazuhiko to fix it up again.” Keisuke nodded quickly in response and started the engine of R32 again, which seemed to protest as it spewed out a column of smoke once again. It soon gave up though, and the car slowly moved back into the Wangan expressway, heading to the Shinjuku district.
Just as Keisuke left, Kazuhiko and his blue FD entered the parking lot and parked beside Raymond’s Ferrari as well. “What took you so long?” Raymond said to Kazuhiko as soon as he stepped out of his vehicle, a cocky grin plastered across his face. “Heh, high-end top speed is still lacking, as you can see. The FD is not built for Wangan.” Kazuhiko answered calmly, unfazed by Raymond’s facial expression. “Anyways, how are you and Kouzuki?”
Raymond grimaced at the sound of her name. “Meh, we dated…had a fight, haven’t talked to her since.” He answered slowly. “Hahaha, oh my god, that is so rich, you had ONE SINGULAR date and you already fought?? Ahahaha” Kazuhiko laughed heartily.
“But come on now, didn’t you two meet each other on the Wangan strip?”
“Well...a few times, she flashed her headlights, but I just ignored her.”
“You certainly have a way with the ladies now, don’t you, Raymond-kun.”
“Oh, shut up, I don’t see you strutting around with a hot girlfriend”
“Well, true, but if I had one, I prolly would not break up with her after a single date.”
“I am not breaking up with her, we were never together in the first place!”
“Yeah, yeah, whatever you say. It was one date, but you two had something special, I can’t really explain it..” Kazuhiko mused, looking at Raymond with an insightful gaze. Raymond tried to come up with an argument, but failed to do so. Instead, he sighed audibly, looking at the night sky. “Yeah…we did, didn’t we” he murmured softly.
“It’s not polite to talk about someone behind their backs you know.” Suddenly, a voice spoke out. Raymond slowly turned around, and as expected, the graceful figure of Kallen Kouzuki was standing before him, looking at him straight in the eyes. “K-k-k-k-Kallen! How did you get here??” The visibly shocked Raymond asked her, stuttering most of the words. “How else do you think, baka, with a car of course!” she retorted playfully, emphasizing on the word baka. Kazuhiko sighed, and stepped into his FD. “You two are perfect idiots, you complete each other.” said Kazuhiko, in a very venomously sarcastic tone. Not wasting another minute, Kazuhiko’s FD sprinted out of the parking lot and into the Wangan strip yet again.
Which leaves Raymond Yamazaki at the mercy of Kallen.

|Well, it's never too late to update. Don't tell me that S15 girl is Kallen? or is it another female driver out to get Raymond? DO keep updating... I'm slowing down on mine as I am working on Supidon no Densetsu V intro video and Supido no Densetsu Prologue III the video series.|

Another female. Kallen is faithful with her R. Sides, I am not so predictable.
I pretty much implied who it was though..
Hint: Chapter 11 last sentence. XD
And yeah, schoolwork is decreasing, so I have time to work on this story.

| I can't believe that it has been over a month since I last posted a chapter.
Now, it's not that I am uninterested in continuing this project, it's just that I have been running out of ideas lately...and that I have pretty much been absorbed in another story I have been writing.
Nevertheless...Chapter 13 is on the works.

|Well, if you need any ideas, then you could always ask me. I'm busy with a movie of the story as well so I am putting the final chapters of Akiyama Chronicles, Epilogue, on hold; so is my SPeed Legend Z story at idforums. I just need to find a decent enough video editing software that supports MP4, MPEG, and PNG files; allowing me to change the size of the pictures in the project, multiple layering (of more than 2 audio, and video files of each), working transitions and DOESN'T DO BUILD ERRORS!! *cough*EditSTudio*cough*; the last one I used was good enough not until the last sentence I just posted.|

| Ahaha, well, thanks, but it's not that I don't have any ideas...I am just confused on how to arrange them! XD
And uhh, if you want to edit videos and such, I suggest Adobe Premiere, or Vegas movie editor.

|Thanks for the options but I have downloaded the perfect program that does the job perfectly!! MAGIX MOVIE EDIT PRO 15 PLUS v 126.96.36.199 (C2)!! It does what MediaChance could do but better and NO BUILD ERRORS!!! XDDDDDDDD|

| So yeah, it's been so unnaturally long. In fact I won't be surprised if most people forgot about this already, but meh, I actually do plan on continuing the story now. I've been absolutely absorbed in another story so truth be told, this one is left on the wayside. Plus, I kinda lost my passion for Wangan for a bit there, and I couldn't be bothered to continue this story.
However, now that I re-read everything I have written here...it's pretty obvious that my writing skill was still very raw. I have improved tremendously, or so I hope, and I expect that whenever I do decide to continue this story, the chapter will be a great one.
The Lightning Angel is back b*tches.

|glad to hear that you're back and so is Yamazaki! I await more of his past life before AKiyama Chronicles! WOOT!|
|Posted by: cabbie Oct 15 2011, 10:04 AM|
|you should continue cos this idea is really same same but different. for now.|
|Posted by: Paladinoras Nov 16 2011, 04:04 AM|
|Wow, time certainly flies. I pretty much plan to rewrite everything, but I realized that I don't have that kind of time and will just be continuing where I left off. So yeah, expect Chapter 13 sometime in the near future, preferrably before Christmas.|

| guys, I am quite new in this forum. though I have written a fanfic myself (I am planning to post it here) I just finished reading some of the things posted here, and I wanted to comment on the reader's point of view, NOT AS A WRITER.
I think this story, is so far my favorite, and yet, there are things like redundancy that I can't help but notice. and there is this we writers put the engine model or something. well, on other readers that do not know anything on automechanics engine models would just be a couple of random number and jumbled letters. engine model won't mean anything to them. just a thought.

I'm still practicing/ (trying to write better so it has atmosphere and plot instead of just emotional writing)
lol so have you read my road4? its a draft version here, it sucks i know.
|Posted by: HyperSonic Mar 20 2012, 02:49 AM|
|Racers On A Desire 4? I read it, I can't say it sucks, it's just that it lacks a really nice plot... Are you having fun writing these kinds of stuffs?, because if you do I won't discourage you. go on with your style. You will improve, there's no doubt about that. By the way, if I will have time to post my own fanfic here, will you review it too just like what I do to your works, I really want to know what other people think of my work, and please be honest with your comments.|

| (920 days old) Holy mother of backlog...
The only reason I'm re-reading this + bumping it is how I wished there was a continuation to Raymond's story.
Paladinoras, if you're reading this, I sure hope you are still thinking of closing Raymond's chapter.
Plus, I'm using it for the Supido no Densetsu Fujin Wiki I'm working on for Raymond's story.

Haha sorry mate, pretty much lost all of my ideas for this story. I still write here and there but this story is pretty much over.
More likely than not I'll rework the whole thing.
(And yes I realize it's been 3 years since you posted this but thought I'll let you know anyways especially seeing as you still visit here sometime)
