when and if i ever race when i get my license, it will probably be on the freeway cuz the mountains closest to me are in the desert, +60 miles for some small mountains and several hundred miles to some real mountains... if i wanted real mountains id probably have to go out to mammoth or death valley. unsure.gif

I usualy prefer the mountains in a player vs player races, its where you really need to keep focused and etc, plus its fun as hell doing a 4-way going through the touge

Highway, I like to be going a really high speed and then a red turn comes up, everyone breaks (or just lifts their foot off the pedal a bit) turn, and then shift down, I prefer it to the rather slow Hakone with so many turns it's like Whacky Races!

Honestly I like playing Hakone with my SVX. I prefer highways, but my really decisive wins were on Hakone. That little bit of ID rubbing off I guess...

In general though, highways are king. Nice open spaces and high speed. That's where it's at. Well until you see [!] pop up...

A lot of people are leaning towards Highway and it's understandable, Wangan was never aimed at mountain racing anyway. It's a highway, super speed grip driving game. 300KM/H in mountain just doesn't work laugh.gif

wangan_sti, one of the reasons why I prefer highways over mountain passes even in the arcade is because I can go fast without having to worry about falling off a cliff... fear2.gif

Then again, if you want a cheaper form of excitement, you can also race along EDSA at midnight (with quite a lot of highway obstacles) and get chased by cops. grin2.gif

And somebody please refresh (help) me on how to qoute a post here in the forums... fear2.gif

*For those who don't know and are interested, EDSA is this really long stretch of highway going north to south in Metro Manila, Philippines.

I don't know about other area but where I live, it's weird. The highway near the urban area(where Highway starts), there are tons of traffic lights(I never understood what's the point to having a highway if you are going to stop every 5 min.). If you really want to go for drive or racing, you need to go at least 2, 3 hr away from cities. BTW, highracing can be scary, every now and then you hear news that teenagers die in car accidents...
