laugh.gif I started this thread cause I was wondering if anyone besides me makes Wangan references in everyday life. Just yesterday I was watching Mythbusters the Tv show and for an experiment they used a white Devil-Z! And whenever I drive past the Porsche dealership by my house I yell out " BIRDS NEST!". Stuff like that happens daily to me.

Every so often I will see a older Black Porsche 911, which I always will refer to as the Blackbird. happy.gif

Coincidentely there is an extremely clean Blue Z down the street which I of course call the Devil Z.

Yesterday yet again I saw another Devil-Z in a movie. I was watching the movie MONEY TALKS with Chris Tucker(hilarious!) anyway during his prison escape when some black SUV's were blocking off a bridge, a tan Devil-Z had to skid to a stop to keep from hitting the suv. The driver got out and got pissed while I was saying " DDDAAANNNGGG!!!! DEVIL-Z!!!!"

Haha, I'll do the same thing, calling a 964 the Blackbird, when I see one on the freeway. I have a 'Blackbird' bulit in GT4, along with other Wangan type cars, just for the sheer hell of it. Run them on Clubman's Route 5 or Special Route 5

Just yesterday, I saw a older model Z31 in red... Asakura's non-infernal Z (the one he has briefly at the start of the series) was all I could think as I saw it go on by.

Even more ironically, it passed me by near my workplace, where there is a powerbox with the following label: "C1- Out" and an arrow pointing in the direction of the street. Hmmm, so was Asakura doing the C1 Outbound yesterday in his old Z31? laugh.gif

I don't really do it with Wangan stuff so much as Initial D stuff. It's more joking than being serious anyways. Whenever my friends and I are driving and we see an older Corolla we always comment on it. Something along the lines of "Look at the SWEET 86, he's gonna do a drift I just know it" even if he's driving on a straight highway...usually followed by an overexaggerated motion like you're cranking the wheel to drift. Kinda like this...

Lately, me and my best friend are getting known for shouting the cheesy "INISHIAAAAAL DEEEE" that the narrator would say before and after commercial breaks. We joke around about doing "drift SUPREME" and other stuff. Like taking my friend's Acura Legend, and "hitting that shit sideways".

It's all hilarious to us. We really enjoyed Initial D, but we joke more than anything with it, too.

Yesterday I was watching the movie "Menence II Society" on BET and during the drive through robbery scene I saw a black Z31 parked across the street. I instantly yelled "COLDBLOODED!"

Sorry bump this thread but I couldn't help adding a reply to this.

Everytime my friend and I get on the entrance freeway, before we actually join up with the main traffic I can't help but quoting one of Reina's lines when you first encounter the Z in the first tier of MT2 "We're running on the Wangan line now." wink2.gif

Hm, I'm not too familiar with Wangan to be honest (can't find scanlations of more than the few first chapters anywhere, anime isn't out yet, and the nearest MT2 machine is an hour-and-a-half drive away) but I do consider blue 240Z's and 280Z's to be cousins of th Devil Z... heh.

I just realized that the car Jim Carey drives in the begining of the movie Bruce Almighty is a light blue 240z!

Near the end of the movie "National Lampoon's Van Wilder: The Rise of Taj"(I got bored as hell, and the movies was o.k...) Kal Penn's character says "Hell, the only asset I have to my name is an 86' Corolla...." I immediatly stood up and yelled "DDAANNGG!!!" And even though it was Initial-D related, it was still pretty cool.

Yep it was a 280Z 2+2. There were 2 of them for the movie. The one for the driving stunt work had a V8 in it. It was for sale on ebay a few years ago.
