The Audi R8 e-tron, the car known as the fastest production electric car around the Nurburgring Nordscleife with the time of 8'09.099, could this be the starting point for future supercars to be powered by electric motors or is this just another one-hit wonder that won't really flourish? What do you guys think about the whole electric supercar concept?

It's already happening.

Remember the R18 e-tron quattro? The overall winner of the 2012 24 Heures du Mans should be enough to show us that it's becoming more and more possible to have electric supercars.

True, but that was a purpose-built racing car, a Le Mans Prototype no less. Do you think that technology would also apply to future production supercars that would be also used on the public roads?

Not a true electirc. IIRC it used a KERS system as it's "hybrid" approach. A better example would be the Toyota effort this year. And you'll notice they didn't end up on the podium.
