Just got my copy of vol 37 today, and there's a nice little battle between the Devil Z, the Blackbird, and a super-tuned S2000. I wonder if this manga is ending anytime soon, from the looks of things they're planning on going on for quite a while longer.

I buy mine from Yesasia.com or sasugabooks.com

Just type "Wangan" in the search field

An S2000? I'd like to see that in the game, haha. Maybe an NSX, too.

If you want to see the Devil Z battling an NSX go buy txrz and finish it in an NSX and maybe you can get to see what you are after.

Wangan Midnight is pretty unique.

Aside from the POPULAR Japanese Imports, European Exotics unexpectedly come into play (aside the Porsche of Tatsuya).

Hmmmmmmmmmm............................. YOSH! A HONDA FINALLY COMES INTO PLAY! w00t2.gif!!!!!

What are chances if Hondas will be finally included in Maximum Tune 4????? shifty2.gif

very low I guess.. Hondas like Civics aren't tuned for highway racing.. Maybe some NSX and S2K's but not civics....

Honda will probably not be in the next Max Tune games because the company probably still has the same hang ups as from the Tokyo Xtreme Racer series. Honda refused to allow someone to licence their cars for an expressway racing game because they did not want their vehicles being associated with illegal racing (which makes their choice to allow licensing for the Kaido Battle series quite puzzling if you ignore the absurd storyline that the mountains have been turned into single purpose raceways in the future). I believe Wiki might have something about it in the Tokyo Xtreme Racer article.

Honda?! Yeah... when it comes to giving others "permission to use their trademark" they just seem to be too strict. Rarely would you find scale models (brands that are not as expensive as AutoArt or similar when it comes to detail quality) and other products that can bear the name.

Im just happy to hear the news that there will be that one and only Honda in this hit manga series!

Devil-Z vs S2000... a must see! a must read! Its just funny, if the closing episodes of Initial D came the Honda S2000, is it coincidental that Wangan Midnight will close the show with the same? What's so good about Honda that the final episodes of both (or possibly both) anime include Hondas, S2000 to be specific, are used as boss enemies?

Hondas are normally associated with being crapshoot vehicles. S2ks are being used probably just cause they're new. S2000s denote a change to a quality FR sports vehicle as opposed to an FF economy tuning platform that so often finds its way into the hands of unfortunate rice boyz. Now I've seen many well tuned Hondas. There's my buddy's supercharged Integra with Tein adjustable suspension. There's the CRX at Pheonix International Raceway that regularly beats M3s and C5 corvette race cars (which I suspect has to do with the weight factor and the grip issue since it's hot and slippery at PIR).

However for each good one out there there are a hundred wasted ones. Like the ones with giant spoilers farting black smoke and lowered to be scraping the ground with their deformed bodykits. Even the S2k being Honda's top end vehicle now that the NSX is gone and being replaced has the unfortunate distinction of having a block that cracks when run hard or overtuned. Honda's decision to remove the NSX from production was interesting. If they allowed the Midnight Manga to use their car I think it's a good decision on their part to advertise their vehicle. They have too many hang ups about being associated with streetracing. The fact is they always will be regardless of what happens.

What I want to see if they keep making the Wangan manga is a continuing departure from the 70s,80s dinosaur cars and maybe some American muscle or modern cars (S2000 was a step in the right direction). The new GT-R and Lan Evo are coming out soon.....

Lan-Evo and GTR? Yes... new appearances keep it coming, sooner or later... Not necessarily new cars itself... so far, the GTR R34 and S2000 can somehow be considered modern in this manga since they are indeed part of the already existing street racer scene. Yeah... new NSX replacement should start popping on magazines and automotive-TV someday, so does the new GTR (a.k.a GTR Proto in the Tokyo Motor Show)...
