I have been realy frustrated trying to find out information about SSS and didn't know where to look.
My friend told me that they have gone out of business but i still want to find out about them.
Please help if you can.
Thanks.

A lot of tuning shops in Japan don't have websites or any other way to get information about them other than word of mouth or actually going to the shop. Try to find lots of information on MCR (Matchless Crowd Racing) on the net, not that easy. And, they have the record for the fastest car on the streets in Japan (or at least they did with their R34 GTR). These shops don't cater to international customers, they have their customer base around them and they stick with it.

I haven't been able to find anything on SSS, just forum stuff and pictures. If you do eventually find a website, or something. Please let us all know.

Stolen from http://zdriver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19049

In case you didn't know the Devil Z actually does or at least did exist. It was a specially modified Speed Shop Shinohara or SSS 240Z. I found the specs over on HybridZ.org. They're as follows:

Engine-
P90A head, F54 block, both sourced from an '83 Turbo 280ZX
Triple Mikuni side-draft carburetors, 47mm bore [?]
Twin Garrett T3/T04 hybrid turbochargers
HKS SuperSequential Blow Off Valve
Custom fabricated intake plenum, 47mm velocity stacks
Custom grind camshaft, 290* duration [?], .510 lift [?]
Forged internals, ceramic coated forged dished pistons [7.4:1 CR]
Claimed 620BHP@6000, TQ unknown

Trans-
Nissan/Borg Warner T5 5-speed, non-"World Class"
Twin-plate Ogura [?] clutch

Diff-
R200 VLSD sourced from '87 300ZX Turbo Special Edition

Suspension/Body-
SSS [Speed Shop Shinohara] coilovers, custom valving
Custom sway bars [SSS?]
SSS custom 8-point cage
Takata 5-point harnesses
Bride racing buckets

Brakes-
R32 4-piston front calipers, cross-drilled/slotted 11.5" rotors [F], cross-drilled/slotted 11.5" rotors, calipers unknown

But the Devil Z can be any 1970-1978 S30Z.
The real "Devil Z" was actually used in the Wangan Midnight movies. Or at least for parts of it.

Actually the SSS Z wouldn't have been a 240Z. If you notice the one they use in the movies, which is the SSS Z has the later style S30 tail lights. Where the reverse light is separate from the one piece lights like the earlier 70-73 Z had.

That would be S31 (The later s30z). Maybe that's why the Devil Z has later model interior in the Anime.

If that SSS tuning shop does exist now... he's probably into the business i'd be interested to check out on... Now that Wangan Midnight Anime came to life... and knowing that the SSS sticker marked the fenders of the Devil-Z on the old and now extinct VHS taped live action interpretation of Wangan Midnight, back in the 80's or early 90's... HA!!!!

He might want to re-open... that is, behind a "celebrity of a name" in this forum; should you also meet our expectations when it comes to tuning!
