i've seen enough bodykit/wheels threads here (and other forums too) degrade into mud-slinging, so here's what might help. most of the info i've read were based on how the cars felt while they were driven, yet some people have said that the difference in TA times/races were from differing driving techniques, so the basic idea is that we hook up the game with a computer that records a player's driving patterns, and then use it on the different aerokit/wheels combinations for every car. this will help to take driver error out of the equation, and can also help someone to find out which setup/car would suit his/her style of driving. problems would include getting a suitable cabinet, the actual hooking up and hacking into the software/hardware, programming of this AI and how much time we can waste on an arcade game. 2 cents, jmho, inb4 flames for english(?).

I haven't done this myself but I assume you can check if your top speed has decreased but simply going on wangan or yokohane. Word on the street says aero kit c is usually the heaviest (lower top speed but less sliding) while orginal or aero kit a is the lightest, but take everything with a grain of salt.

Is it really that important whether or not they *really* affect performance?

QUOTE (Calx Zinra @ Today at 5:34 AM) | for TA's sake? it seems so! |
then just run TA's with different bodykits and/or wheels to find the best one...
instead of computers, etc etc etc
or, use the official machine. there are plenty ranked OMs....

Or how about asking the hardcore expert gamers who do put a lot of time into playing MT3, like the members of Team Akuma (many of them who post here have usernames starting with akuma$$$$)? Most of them testify to differences in performace thanks to the dressups, considering how much gaming experience they have and their top performances in VS games (eg the boss aka akumaCarlo has logged over 225,000km on his Supra RZ aka KAREN and mastered it enough to not just seize the Wangan Crown, but set a pace so fast almost no one else can match it and steal the crown from him; when he saw my Supra sporting the car-type wing, immediately he commented that it's "heavy" i.e. adds weight to the car affecting performance, and I noticed his Supra, the one that holds the Wangan Crown, has the standard wing; in another case, a friend of the team with lots of experiece with Imprezas, when he saw my GDB-C with Aero Set B, commented that my car would be lacking in pace and suggested another aero set, and when I changed it to Aero Set C, its increase in pace definitely showed in the VS matches.).
