the legendary FC is NOT 800HP, definitely not...
if u seen the manga, it's barely 450HP, it was a miracle that it kept up with Devil Z and Black Bird, don't assume Max Tune for everything

That does beg the question.... What IS the limit of the RX7 rotary in terms of power tune? Tuning rotaries kinda makes them maintenance whores...

JapVillage's RX-7 FD3S, Cosmo 3-Rotor engine turbo'ed making over 620hp.

There's a small feature about it in the Mischief Invasion documentary.

Rotarys are extremely tuneable !
a well tuned 3rotor can do 800hp pretty easy.
There are even 2rotor 13B's with over 1000hp, but they're for drag.

There are drag ca18det motors in Japan pushing over 1000hp. I'd like to know what the max power you can get out of a car and still have it reliable and somewhat reasonable to drive around.

That 620+hp 3-rotor RX-7 gets about 100miles to the tank, and the engine has flexing issues. 800hp 3-rotor would just be crazy and very unreliable. Like the owner of the shop said...

"Good for driving to church on sunday morning...but not for much else."

Well of course when your tuning to that point, you kinda need to decide what this car is going to be for. I think if your pushing past the 600BHP mark, the idea of a daily driver is thrown out the window.

Which is hilarious, because in WM the characters still use their Wangan beasts as their dailies. XD

what? the church would fall into pieces, rotarys are loud laugh.gif

there is even a 2Rotor streetlegal FD with 650BHP, so 800HP 3Rotor should be no problem.
Scoot Sports made a 4-Rotor N/A FD3S...this should be very fast too, with turbo this would be an unbeatable monster.

but who cares....600...700....800HP....this is all craazy fast ohmy.gif
i drive a 200~220 HP FC3S and it's fast enough for me.

yeah, and AsakuraZ is right, you can forget the idea of driving a car with more than 600HP as a daily driver, that would be just crazy.
If I would be a Wangan racer in Japan, I would buy a K-Car as a daily driver grin2.gif

Yeah, I think around the neighbourhood of 200-300hp is enough for me. I would never want 400+hp, I would never use it.

K-car for life! My friend in Japan sent me a picture of his new car (ej1 Civic) in a parking lot, in the background there is practically nothing but K-cars LOL. XD

Yeah I think about that when I see some of the characters just driving around to various locations in these cars. I would think at least Tatsuya Shima, with the income he pulls from being a doctor, would have a side car. Though it would be kind of silly to see a character like that driving a K-Car.

Yeah, same with all these characters who own shops.

Even Akio...I mean, he fixed the Devil Z numerous times. You'd think he could just pick up like a Civic or K-car in a junkyard and fix it up to drive.

Yeah, it was Akio's friend who had the scooter.

Lol, yeah they push these cars on the wangan all night long...and yet Akio doesn't have more severe money problems. That Devil Z should run through a tank of gas like nothing.

LMFAO @ Jon!

You need traction in a straightline dash, no traction = wheelspin and making impressive smoke but getting no where. Like what does a 650hp, a 850hp and a 1000hp Supra got in common? You know the answer lol...

Japan in the cities is filled with Kei cars, nothing you can do about it. You'll be hard pressed to find any cars you love. Go further out into the suburbs or rural and thats where you start finding these cars. You'll also find a lot of them meet at once at a place called a "circuit" lol.
