in a boost off battle, it isnt necessarily who's the better racer, but instead who gets in front first, at that point as long as the leader is semi good, they'll end up blocking the lines of the person behind them...not to mention the person behind has a harder time seeing(especially in 1st person), so this becomes in issue if say you start on c1 ib(just before the tunnel, like the old c1ib) against some other guy, you're on the left, hes on the right...guess who's gonna end up ahead at the first turn? its more often than not gonna be the guy on the right, and if the two guys are similar in skill, its likely the guy on the right will win
in a boost on battle, you can at least have fun(yes, ramming is fun, you should try it) although it makes more sense if there are 4 machines
