hey guys, first of all, sorry if there has been a thread made.

anyways, any players of WMMT3 that are in New Zealand?
I'm from Auckland, so obviously I play in Auckland city =P

here are some places in Auckland city where you can play (just in case you don't know)

all of them are in Auckland CITY centre, all are in Queen street, and all are very close to each other. so if you found one, you should find the rest wink2.gif

anyways, here:

-Timezone (below BK)
-Yifans (the one near kebab and it's in the bottom, quite hard to identify coz no sign unless you enter it lol =P// it;s also accross the atrium, got 2 entrance)
-iMax arcade, in the imax cinema, beside borders.

some few things that I have found out about each place:

-Yifans, a really hardcore place, all the pros go here, especially all the chinese people ( not meaning any racism, I am asian too, so no racism here =P) and if you don't know, most chinese people are very pro, so if you are looking for a challange, then this is the right place for you.
there is also 1 person who is named ALANG, which is for your record, the person who is ranked 11 in NZ, and I am sure every weekend he is there, not sure about weekdays, but every weekend I always sees him, so yeah =P

-iMax, most begginers go here I guess, not sure any pro come here a lot, coz everytime I go here, all players are average players. Some pros could have went here some time, but not always.
so yeah, not much pro go here, most people that play here just play for fun, waitting for their movie probably, or whatever.
also known for their gay machines, last time I played there, the 4th machine is so stuffed up, your car can't even go past 150km/h
they got 2 WMMT2 machines too here, not like anyone used them anymore =P

-Timezone, I just tried playing here with my friends last weekend, this place gives you a pretty cheap play. if you pay $20, im sure you get $25 on ur card
pay 30, then you get 40.
so it's really cheap, cheaper than other place, and not much pro come here too, probably not, last time we play no pros came =P
not much people play here too, last time we occupy all 3 machines for the whole day and no one told us to get out lol.
got 4 machines, but somehow the last machine got broken probably, hope it's fixed next time!

so that is all to it, Yifans is for you who want to have some challange, coz I'm serious, all people that go there are the pros.

I live in the north shore, so I was wondering if any machines is available in the shore?
I know 1 in glenfield mall, and they only got 2 machines though, but unfortunately it's a bit far to go to glenfield =P
Was wondering if there is 1 in the hoyts cinema on link drive?

ok, end of info, do reply if you live and play in auckland city.
I also want to play with some people, I normally spend my time on saturdays in the timezone below BK, and I'm not that good, I only got 600 hp, and I just started 2 days ago, so if you just started too, I'd like to challenege you smile.gif
I usually be there on 2-6 probably, and you can tell if I'm there or not.
If I am there, all the seats should be occupied by asians smile.gif ( all my friend are asian including me, and we are quiet, no offense but some people talk so loud when playing, not like there is anything wrong with it actually, looks even more fun)

so see you all auckland players there!! smile.gif

Aye, NZ player here, but I'm from Christchurch, I play at Timezone Colombo Street (currently under renovation) and Timezone Riccarton and Moorhouse.

I'm currently ranked 23 for mileage in New Zealand with my Subaru Legacy card which isn't bad I guess.

I plan on doing the Legacy up a bit more then starting a project R2 or Taxi cause no one in Christchurch uses the secret cars.

BTW what are the most popular cars at the Auckland arcades?

here in christchurch its:

Evo 8 or 9 (depends if u transferred over or started new, about 50/50 between these two)

GTR 32

GTR 34

RX-7 series 7

Whoa, other people from NZ. I'm in Auckland, I usually go to the BK arcade (it's double dollars all November, btw - pay 20, get 40 credits). My card name is HCORP and it's an Evo VIII RS, so if you see me don't hesitate to say hi! I look like an unfriendly person (too many late nights) but I'm alright. tongue.gif

Sure smile.gif
double dollars all november eh??
including this weekend I guess?
cool, that place will get crowded biggrin.gif

anyways, I came this weekend, And I found major difference between Yifans and timezone in BK

I think, Yifans has better machines, I mean, the gears on Timezone are a bit loose I think. Coz I lose like nearly most of the time last sunday on timezone, but I didn't lose at all on yifans lol biggrin.gif

anyways, nice meeting you smile.gif

Yeah, Yifans has better machines for sure. The problem with Timezone is that a lot of kids play (because obviously it's just a flight of stairs away from BK) and thus you get a lot of wheel-slamming and lever-smashing. In Yifans there's nothing like that. Honestly, I would MUCH prefer to play at Yifans, but they don't offer special deals or anything. Not to mention I have a VIP card for Timezone that gets me some free games and discounts etc.

Also, the iMax arcade used to have a lot of pros AGES ago back when Initial D version 2 was out. That was where all the record-setters played their battles/time attacks. I guess they went off to Yifans afterwards, and eventually stopped coming. I usually just go there to check if there's any competition or not (there usually isn't). Hope to see you around sometime ~

Yeah, white kiwi. The last time I went was probably about 3 weeks ago, I think. I'll be heading into TZ on Friday, most likely. Gonna take advantage of the double dollars deal and use 50 bucks or so, should be enough for a fair while. I'll probably stop by the other arcades too, to see if anyone else is playing.

820, I played WMMT2 for two years on and off. I started with a black Supra JZA80, but it's still at 4600 km or so and I haven't transferred it to WMMT3 yet. Now I drive an Evo VIII with about 5200 km. I'm not that great because I don't play the game frequently, so every time I go I have to re-learn things like the proper line to take.

I think I took the Hakone IB crown at TZ. It's probably gone by now, wasn't exactly an impressive time.

There were a couple of guys there on the day who were better than me, but I guess they didn't take it back. I'll probably go in this Friday to check up on the Hakone times in Yifans/iMax/TZ anyway.

Went in and played terribly. My one problem with WMMT3 is that I play it so irregularly, so every time I go and pick it up again, I have to re-learn everything. It's even worse considering how many other racing games I play, and how all of the cars handle differently in every game. I also discovered that the machines in iMax suck terribly. Blurry as hell and the wheels are off-center. Makes doing Hakone a pain in the ass.

I showed up at about 11am and raced until 12, then took a break and got some food etc. There was only about 1-2 other people playing ID/WMMT, but I came back at about 1pm and there were heaps more. Only one person raced me, and I beat him. Not sure he had a fully tuned car, anyway. I set some terrible times around Hakone IB then went back to story mode, think I'm up to stage 48 or so. I need to do another story loop after the current one, so I can get the Undefeated Highway Dominator title. I also need to get a CV together to apply for a job at TZ, haha. I figure working at the arcade and playing games in the arcade goes hand in hand.

Ah yeah, it's still broken. That was dismaying, it's just not the same without the possibility of 4-person races :<

I don't even know how it got broken, it wasn't broken when I went there in early October. Makes me wonder if it was one of the numerous kids who come in and slam the hell out of the wheel/shifter or if it's just a bug.

yeah I went to TZ just yesterday
One advice is not to go there on weekends....
because you will have to wait for the people playing.
and trust me, they won't move unless you told them to >.> or until they waste all their money
especially since there are only 3 machines now, man.

even at night... I played till like 11.30 midnight yesterday, and there's still some people playing the machine... what a hardout people... I think that's including me xD

oh yeah, very bad news too, probably I did this, but don't tell the manager since I dunno what i did sad.gif

well yesterday I had to renew my card for the first time, so I did, and after I did, I found that something is wrong with the steer.
the steer is pretty much LOOSE, not hard. so it's like if you didn't put any coins into it, you know what I mean?
the steer is loose, easy to turn etc2
but normally, it's hard eh? I mean if a car crashes into you, the steer will move by itself.

well the bad news is that the Steer became LOOSE after I renew my card, I do not know what I did, so i believe it's not my fault xD
it's the one beside the broken one, so someone might want to try it out if it's still like that.

BUT, it now has a pros and cons XD
pros: VERY VERY EASY TO TURN, yes I mean it is like as if your car is soooo light, just a bit movement of the steer will make your car turn. very easy to take red corners using this, especially hakone, I guarantee you will have better performance with this steer in the machine lol.

cons: Very tiring, why? because if you don't hold the steer straight, the car will simply turn -.-
this happen to me a lot of time, where i finish a red corner, I didn't put the steer straight, so I keep on crashing to the edge -.-
yes, and it's very tiring, coz you gotta keep it still.
another bad thing is if you crash once, it's all over for you, because people tend to move around the steer if they crash, well since it's so light, your car will just go crazy -.-

Should try it, me and my other friend said that it sucks so bad, but my other friend said that it really helps him lol, but it's tiring yeah -.-

Yeah man, I went there on a Saturday a while back and had to wait about 2 hours for a group of guys to get off the machines, haha. I usually only play to about 4-5pm cause I gotta catch the train back to New Lynn then catch a bus to Titirangi, and Titirangi buses are absolutely useless, especially at late night. I'm wondering if I can put my card down and it will be like HK, and they'll get off on the next race. At the same time, I don't wanna be impolite, so..

The steering thing probably has nothing to do with you, guess it was just a screwup in the calibration it goes through while renewing. I wonder when the hell they're gonna fix the fourth machine? Even iMax fixes their machines faster than this. I'll probably be heading into TZ again sometime soon, cause one of my friends is just finishing up his exams at AUT, and what better way to celebrate finishing a semester than wasting 80 bucks on arcade games? I also have to do some time attacks on the new courses.. I'm ashamed to think that I've driven ~1000km on WMMT3 and I still don't know the exact layouts of the new races T.T
