...Seriously though, this is my favourite episode so far. It's a bit more mature than the others (in a good way). Love it. Enjoy...

Yup, I totally agree with you.

Thanks for all the effort. smile.gif

I'm currently watching episode 10 atm and I noticed that there's a mistake at 13:30. Instead of Ther, it should be There. It's nothing big, but I thought I'd point it out.

BTW the quality is superb. Thanks man.

Nice one for pointing it out. Means that when I compile my 6 episode DVD all of the corrections will be done and dusted all in one go.

I'm currently subbing the next episode (nearly finished in fact) but one thing I noticed was that episode 10 has hardly any spoken dialogue. Pretty much all of the dialogue is what the characters are thinking. I think this is why it feels so emotional. It has a cool outcome too. The next episode is a stark contrast with only a few lines being peoples thoughts. The story is getting really good now. Keep an eye out on the thread for the next episode for it's release. It should be by monday but we'll see. It's a bank holiday (national day off) on monday so I'll have to "up" it from home which could affect things but not too much.

I don't know what made you guys cries... But it is very emotional episode, which the master of body metal has come back (even though he's now at the hospital), and I'm very excited knowing that Devil Z is back!

Nothing will ever pass him again. Ever... not even somebody's fastest GTR

Superjakko, are You sure, that in ep10, Haruda's thoughts (~11 min) and tips given by Takagi (~12 min) are translated correctly? I suppose they aren't. IMHO there are mistakes.

Haruda:
1. He's going 250kmh (7000rpm)
2. He accelerate to 200 (?)// How is it possible? I think there should be "300" Besides, look at his speedo

Akio/Takagi:
1. Get Yokohama line
2. Dodge traffic at 250kmh
3. At 100kmh - you'll pass all the other cars (?)// I don't think so. IMHO there should be 250 too. If he goes 250, why should he slow down? And why by 150kmh? Going only 100kmh he wouldn't use all 3 lanes at the big bend and Hiramoto would run away.

No offence, please. I only would like to know why there are so weird dialogs.

Greetings and sorry, my english may be a little bit unintelligible.

It might have something to do with basing translations upon bootleg Hong Kong DVD English subtitles instead of the spoken dialogue...but that's just a shot in the dark.

QUOTE (cain @ Today at 7:42 AM)
Nomake Wan, You translated some episodes, You know japanese. Could You verify these fragments?

Well first off, there's the fact that it's "Harada," not "Haruda." As for what's actually said, Harada says that they're going to accelerate to 200 MPH, not KPH. 200 MPH is around 320 KPH.

And then you have Takagi's part. "First, exit Wangan towards Yokohama. Slalom though at 250 km/h until you reach the return tunnel. Pass the regular cars at 100 km/h to the left and right. At the Ooi corner, use all of the available three lanes to accelerate to 280 km/h out of the tunnel."

Now, I'm actually not positive about the "Slalom" part. It's the only katakana I know of that sounds even remotely close, but it really sounds like there's a 'fu' at the end. It almost sounds like 'surarofu', which doesn't mean anything to my knowledge. He doesn't actually mention the traffic until the part at the tunnel where he's slowing to 100 km/h. Originally, I thought that maybe Takagi was talking about the traffic being at 100 km/h, but the Japanese is 'hyaku kiro de ippansha wo migi hidari ni pasu shite...' which is "At 100 km/h, pass..." and not "Pass the traffic going 100 km/h." So I guess we're to assume that Akio slows down at the tunnel, then accelerates out of it.

Apparently most drivers (in Wangan Midnight) obey the speed limit which is well under 100kmph so someone goin at that speed would pass them.

@ Cain, he slows down to avoid having an accident.

Well I'd imagine they'd cruise. Spritedly driving the highways but mostly obeying the laws until someone challenges...

Just a thought.

I have actually pointed out that I'm basing them on a bootleg that's a really rough copy. They're in really bad English, so I'm essentially taking a crap Japanese translation to start with and making it grammatically correct in English. I'd prefer to base it on a straight translation of the dialogue but my command of the Japanese language ends at counting to ten, saying hello/goodbye and asking how someone is today. It's not because I'm ignorant either as I speak English and French and can get by in Spanish, German and Russian. Essentially I've got the same problem as everyone who's wanted to sub this series apart from Nomake in as much as we don't speak Japanese. I'd love to learn as I'm a firm believer that knowledge is power and all that but holding down a full time job and having 3 kids gives me just too much to occupy my time. I will one day though!

Superjakko, I don't try to point out a mistakes and attack You. I simply watched this episode and something was out of keeping (in my way of thinking) with context.

You did excellent job. Greetings.

Yo Cain, don't worry. It's no offense taken. I'm not religiously defending my work either. By posting and explaining things I stand a better chance of someone (worldwide) finding the thread and hopefully helping me out with the episodes after 12. I've only got (rough) translations up 'til then. Then we're all in no man's land again. I'm also not having a dig at anyone with regards to anything so before people read into things that aren't there, don't bother.

I just watched ep 10 for the first time tonight. To me it's the best so far. Every emotional and heavy. Also the race was very well done with great animation and music selection.

Thanks Superjakko for the subs and everybody else that had a hand in bringing us this episode. I look forward to watching episodes 11 and 12.

What's the BGM where Harada overtakes Hiramoto when he's testing out his GT-R in episode 9?
