Well, given that it would be better to keep all questions regarding the RX7, RX8, Cosmos and the Mazdaspeed 6 in one thread.

Anyway, first thing to contribute is that if you have an RX8, then this setup makes it pretty grippy without the disadvantages of lost speed:

Aero Kit A
Aero mirrors
Normal hood
Any lightweight rims (I usually prefer the Enkeis the best)
Wing by car type

But do be careful with this as the RX8 is a much easier car to ram pinball with.

Sorry if the next contribution to this thread isn't about the RX-8

I currently use a RX-7FD with the following setup

Aero Set B
Aero Set B Wing
Stock mirrors
Ray Volks rims (will verify and update later)
bonnet with ducts

I find that this setup best combines grip and speed for the FD. The Aero set B provides less drag along with the bonnet with ducts. The rather "small" default wing of Aero set B provides me just enough assistance for cornering along with my current set of rims. Then again, its just my opinion and preference.

Note for noobs: Like the RX-8, the RX-7FD (and FC) will fly at the slighest bump (ramming) from it's heavier opponents (Skylines, Supars, etc.)

That can be compensated by the driver's ability to judge his line well during a battle, so no worries.. happy.gif

I thought the ideal grip setting would be using a carbon hood with duct, 3d gt wing and the gramlights series rims, aerokit im clueless. I forgot who told me that, but i remember his pic. (its the one with a panda in a cars driver's seat)

You must be thinking of the Aero Set B for that setup. I was about to go for that but I found myself comfortable and having fun with the stock version of Aero Set B. cool.gif

3d wing is good for FD but its ugly laugh.gif
I use...

Aero A
3d wing
GT-C rim
Bonnet with duct

But as for battle, Aero C is better.

@RB33
U use this setup for TA or VS?

So that we can compare which setting is better.

Mine is Hanshin 3'50"7xx
This timing was did with gt wing straight.
The rest of the setup is the same.

Well, if I used the following settings for my RX8:

Aero A kit
Aero A wing
Carbon hood
First Enkei rims

Then I can get 3:51:XXX but my friend did a run with 3:50:1XX on it...which is practically hard...

@bekk, Momo
I'm actually still in the "mastery" stage of my FD. I used to play with an Evo8 so basically I'm still ajusting to the FD. Honestly my TA's aren't so great. The last TA that I remember is at Osaka @ 3'57 using my FD... fear2.gif I just shared my finding on my setup based mostly on my races with other players. happy.gif

@bekk
Nah im very slow...
Thats why i tried to switch to 3d wing.
After tested, 3d wing can reduce from losing speed at mild turn.
But i have not broke my own record yet coz im not used to it laugh.gif

@RB33
Yeah its alot different from evo8.
Evo8 handles very well and has very good acceleration and the butt does not swing that much.
Its too good grin2.gif
I think u should have problem switching from Evos to FD laugh.gif

Yep, I am having problems switching from Evo8 to the FD. As someone mentioned earlier in a different thread, Evos tend to "baby" the driver. happy.gif

I have an rx8

wing by type of car,
aero B
dont knw what rims,
carbon duct hood,
AERO MIRRORS ohmy.gif!
and it does me good, find it doesn't slide as much :S!
with this setup i can do an average 3'51 osaka TA
2'57 Yokohand upward which requires as less dritifing as you possibly can :S

Are you talking about me? laugh.gif
Well actually...it's all down to the driving style...
I have yet to find the best setting for my RX-8 but yes...
I've already compared the Aero A and Aero B...
I liked the way the Aero B handles more so I stuck with it...
Will play around with dress-ups when I have the time...

Been focusing on my FC lately and doing some TAs...
I went from 53'XXX' to 51'095' in 3 days...it's not fast but I think that is a great improvement for me...
And keep in mind it's an FC... wink2.gif
My current settings for the FC would be aero B, 3D GT-wing, normal carbon hood, and Yokohama 3-spokes...

@ Davido
The ideal setting for most cars would be 760/D in both Osaka and Hakone...
Good luck with it...

Wait...Is ur car fully tuned yet?
U can't really slide much with a 700-740 hp setting...
U finished playing story mode yet?
If you haven't...get it fully tuned 1st...
And try using higher HP in hakone...it won't hurt... wink2.gif
I did an 800/D run in Hakone and I can surprisingly catch up with my own crown's ghost... laugh.gif
It's all about the lines in MT...or in all racing games for that matter...you can trust me on that... wink2.gif

We know from the previous installments of Maximum Tune, the FD's aero kit looks like this:
user posted image

What aero part should I unlock for that one? I only have unlocked Aero Part B as of this time. (Currently Lvl. 17 Dress up)

Thanks.
