6k, wtf? Thats sounds more like some sort of rental cost since Initial D V3 machines cost like 15k brand new and around half a much used.

yeah 15k when they first came out rofl
where ever you get your prices from...they extremely over priced
no arcade would pay 15k for a game made in 2003-2004 like id3... especially when they would rather buy "the latest one" for 10k

Even though it's $8k USD for the machine, you guys aren't factoring in the price for tax, shipping, insurance, not to mention replacement parts if something breaks, as well as electricity, etc.

It all adds up.

Unless you own an arcade and plan on making a profit from MT3, don't bother buying the machine.

In two or three years time, it will be out of date. It's cheaper to play at an arcade no matter what.

I've spent around $3k on MT2 and MT3, and that's still significantly less than the price of the machine.

Damn, since when Malaysia's ringgit is higher than US dollars?

USD 8k x 3.1990 (Current exchange rate as at 6.22 pm)= RM 25,591.99

and from that, I can conclude that playing in the arcade is WAYYY cheaper than buying a machine. wink2.gif

Playing in the arcade is cheaper than buying the machine yeah, but I would like to have access to a machine to backup my cards.

The machine at the arcade I frequent stopped storing any new card data after November in 2007, and nobody can figure out why. We even tried wiping the machines data and starting again, but nobody could save anything to be restored.

Maybe it has something to do with our machine being the beta version...

Thats a scary thought (3k on WMMT), but mine is probably only 1k below that when you factor in WMMT1 and WMMT2 as well...

it's a feature implemented in MT3, you can't restore a card unless the machine detects that there is an error during writing a card.

I thought that you could reprint a card at any time as long as it was one of the last 5 in the machine?... Or is it only the last 5 bad writes...?

the machine must sense a failure while writing the card before you are allowed to make a backup copy

i think in the long run. youre better off just playing the game in an arcade.
1. youre electric bills will go up your ass
2. relpacing parts is a nightmare let alone the cost
3. shipping costs a fortune, so does taxes and you have to insure it when its being shipped
