my car's HP is 400 / D & i've beaten some players whose cars' HP are 780 / B(i battled them on hakone & they rarely crash).i guess they're not pro then.

the reason for that, its not the lack of skill, its because they have to brake, faster, harder, and more then you do because of the lack of horsepower, the greater the horsepower the harder to turn

Uhmmmm, you're only meant to brake for like 2-4 turns in hakone. I dont think braking that many times would change the outcome of the whole race.

LOL way to quote a 3 year old post. And no, it was lack of skill. It's not because they had to brake. They just sucked XD!

@GT: In time attack? It's more than that LOL

Seriously???

When I TA there i only brake for those wall tap turns. Others i just gas off.

For battles i only brake twice...unless of course i have to take a different line than usually due to obvious reasons.

Dunno if anyone haz posted this answer before, but I just thought about this question...

Why is the gear ratio & speed on Hakone so different from other tracks?

I played Hakone track before. It felt Initial D-ish, so the last thing I needed to do is stay calm and navigate through corners carefully, even if I would end up crashing into walls, in my opinion.

That's usually the first thing I do

Hakone is really pain-in-the-ass difficult. I swear, the moment that you at least get 4'47 in this map (DX+), then you are considered pro in my book

In my opinion, yes you indeed are (in this regard).

Heck, if anyone gets at least under five minutes in Hakone TA (DX or DX+), then you are at the very least good enough or decent.

Granted, it's nothing special (just decent and average enough).......but IMHO, that does not mean that I suck.

Seriously, what the hell was that comment for? All I did was just post my own opinion (which anyone is free to agree or disagree).....but you're flaming against me.

Did I do anything to you f**ker???

Seriously, that kind of elitist attitude reminds me of that player named "Half Active Mt Player". Seriously, I hate what that elitist prick says on these forums by putting others down and causing flame wars.

With that comment you made though, you're beginning to sound him and heck, you're becoming an elitist prick yourself. rolleyes.gif

I just started trying to beat the Hakone Crown on my machine on WMMT3 (not DX). It's Hakone OB right? At what points do I need to brake? Thanks.

As far as I know, you don't need to brake that much though. Hakone isn't that hard; all you need is a good rhythm along the corners. You can make up for a minor screw-up easily because Hakone's full of corners.

But then again, I'm no pro at Hakone fear2.gif

I only break on the red turns, I pulled a 4 43 The first time I played hakone on dx

But that's because I practiced on mt3 for years, on inbound I can pull a 226 and a 2 27 on outbound with the z31, what you need to do is just watch you tube on hd so you can see were they break and were the let go of the gas etc etc. I had a video but it was taken down, ill put one up again when I TA up north and take the #1 spot in hakone with a z31.

On the outbound, how do you take the last hairpin downhill before you get back up to the uphill section? (as in right after the chicane then the semi-circle/semi-roundabout.

My times were good from CP 1-3 then I fall behind at CP 4 because of those last 2 hairpins.
