Didn't see a thread about this so I thought It could be an interesting discussion.

Basically, what are your favorite feature anime films and why? Here's My few:
  • Macross - Do You Remember Love
This film is a terrific story which revolves around the story of invaders attacking earth to re-capture their lost battle fortress after it crashes on earth. Humans have found the wreck and are using the alien technology to re-build the fortress into earth's first Super Dimension Fortress (the SDF-1). The movie is great because it's got great characters, love triangles, and it's a little more realistic than other mecha movies out there. It's down and dirty, main characters actually will die. They don't have super mechs or anything. But it's a complex story which is really worth watching. Soundtrack is quite good too.
  • Akira
Who didn't love Akira, honestly? Another great story set in future Tokyo where Bosuzoku bikers of the future get tangled up in a strange plot to create super humans with psychic powers. The animation for the time of this movie is fantastic. I can't put my finger onto why this movie is so great, it just is XD
  • Grave of the Fireflies
A touching story of a boy and his sister during world war 2 in Japan. After a bombing, they are left homeless and orphans. They are forced to live with their auntie who mistreats them. They eventually decide to go out and live on their own. It's a really sad story, but the characters are great, and your really start to feel for the main character. It's one of the most powerful anime films I've ever seen and has a strong message of anti war.

Samurai X Trust & Betrayal

i bet that you all know that this film is about Kenshin Himura during his days as shadow assassin(hitokiri battosai).it's kinda gory&bloody though(can't forget the way Kenshin slash Kiyosato to death).the story itself is sad,i almost cry when i watch this film.the music is a big point to this anime,it really suit the film well.i think this is one of the best anime ever created in Japan.

Initial D 3rd Stage
-Perfectly uses its handful of material, and is a good way of concluding the loose ends in season 2 and smoothly transitions to 3rd stage.

Galaxy Express 999
-A wonderful coming of age story that involves hope, tragedy, and redemption

Windaria
-A true classic

Macross Do You Remember Love
-Pretty much what the first guy said

Street Fighter 2: The Animated Movie

In my opinion, the best video game to movie transition. Awesome soundtrack and animation, the storyline is decent.

Macross Plus: Movie Edition

More drama than action, but recommended also!

Transformers: The movie

Simply awesome. I still have the original BETA tape to this! I was so angry/disappointed at the live-action version to this great film. It is a great transition from Gen 1 to Gen 2 transformers.

Im also a big Lupin the Third fan, and I must say Lupin the Third: Episode 0 First Contact is my favorite movie next to Castle of Cagliostro. Has anyone else seen them?

Funny you mention Macross Plus: Movie Edition, my friend had me watch it as its one of his favorite movies and I also liked it a lot.

Like Duo, it seems like a lot of my favorite anime movies are from Studio Ghibli, namely, The Cat Returns, Whisper of the Heart, Kiki's Delivery Service.

And also, one of my all time favorites, Initial D: Third Stage. laugh.gif

Unbreakable, learn to read the topic, we are not talking about anime series but anime movies. Its in the topic's title. Wangan Midnight never even had an anime movie.

But yes, lol I am another Lupin Fan, ive seen most all of the movies and OVA's. Except I think the new one that just came out in Japan. Ive watched most of the Red jacket series, but its pretty dang long. I really enjoy the TV Specials like, Stolen Lupin, Return the Treasure. Btw is that Lupin in your avatar?

Right now, I'd have to say Castle of Cagliostro is my all-time favorite anime movie ever. The next on that list are as followed.

Ghost in the Shell 1 & 2
NGE 1.0 You are (Not) Alone
FMA: The Conqueror of Shamballa
NGE: end of Evangelion
