So I originally brought my video camera to record some anime gathering at a mall on Sunday. Unforunately, the security guards told me to put the camera away, and so I did.

Shortly after that, I left to head down to the arcade again for more WMMT3.

Then I think to myself, I have my video camera and the tripod...I might as well record myself.

So I did, and I got about 30 mins of good footage. Too bad I didn't get the rest because I was there for about 3 or so hours.

Anyways, I think of this as the equivalent of someone recording a football game on Sunday, then on the days after review the tape and see what they did right, what they did wrong, and they need to improve on.

Judging on the various lines & shifting points that I took in those 30 mins, I know what to improve on.

So, what about you? You ever do just that?

With a friend, yes; by myself, no. The dilemma I face is I need my hands on wheel (and shifter, if MT).

If I had a camera and tripod, I'd be more worried about it getting stolen.

Too bad they don't got a shoulder-mount for your cam; if they got something like that, just make sure you got friends around to watch your back.

That, and in most arcades you'd be hard-pressed to find a way to set up your tripod without it being in the way of other patrons and/or posing a tripping hazard (which also leads to your camera toppling to the floor).

A lot of people do it... i've tried with my handphone cam (with disastrous results)

that said, if i had a video camera with a tripod, i'll definitely use it... as long as theres someone to monitor and operate it.

yeah i get my friend to film me a few times with my camera so i can see what im doing wrong... it helps but i can never finish a run on camera haha
but we cant use video camera, shopping malls here banned the use of video camera's inside any shops in the mall
but the staff at arcade let you get away with using small digi cams with movie mode
but if its an arcade in the city i could use video camera and tripod but yea you would need someone to operate it because its in the cbd there is a high risk of someone stealing it if no ones there operating it

Well I got very lucky this time...I had a person who worked there made sure nothing happened.

I will definitely keep everything that you all have said in mind.

If angle's a problem, check my Hakone vid - I had my friend take it from the adjacent station; angle came out surprisingly good. Scary thing about it was I thought it was my eye reflected in the vid - it turned out to be one of the arcade games in the background.

I'd feel like a goose if someone was standing there with a camera recording me play. But often Dare records our battles on his camera phone. Although the quality isn't the best most of the time sleep.gif. Got some good vids of HURRR clobbering everyone around though.

Never done that.

I've, for a while, contemplatted doing a "Let's Play" of WMMT3's story mode (a video playthrough with commentary), but after negative feedback on my Action 52 LP's, I've scrapped the plan.

Another idea I have that will never come to life is doing a fandub of story mode's dialogue.

No, I mean a version with commentary.

I take it you don't know what a "Let's Play" is--here's an example.

One of my goals is to record one of my T.A.s some day. I plan to be the first to record a sub 4'02 with traffic on for wangan eastbound.
