I drive (Race) because when I drive, I dont worry about anything. Its just me and Sakura-chan, talking and negotiating corners. Sure I love the speed and excitment of being forced side to side and back in my seat with 1g of force...but I like the feeling and the atmospere of racing. The stuggle for first, the dogfight! Being the fastest at whatever you do.

It relaxes me, no one knows who I am until they rode with me behind the wheel,
Mike

I love how the world feels to slow down when your going faster and faster, the speed limits are for those who cant handle it, ive seen lots of bold morons in golfs and 3 series wrecking, but watching theyr wrecks only thing that comes to mind is "Only the strongest shall survive"

I'm going to have to go with that.

I drive because I spent some time without a car, and it's annoying as hell to get around without one.

For me its the same reason as Nomake Wan, it sucks to not have a car and be able to get around, that and I spent so much time on my car that I need a good cruise once and a while to relax.

I'm with HateSkylines and SouthSideSlider, I love driving fast because it makes the world go away for at least a short time. Everything else fades except the driving and the rush from pushing the limits, and the feeling of satisfaction afterwards. It's driving me crazy having to drive around in the Tercel and the Diplomat lol. Of course, I also like just cruising up through the mountains or country at times too, that is relaxing to me. Especially on cool spring or fall days.

I just drive to go to places, but sometimes you just need to punch the accelerator and hear the intake roaring for a short time.
I don't drive fast, but at least gives you the opportunity to arrive to the places earlier. Safety of course, you won't go fast on corners. happy.gif

........and sometimes is good to beat some I-can-drive-fast kids that have FF cars with a SUV. shifty2.gif

ROFL

It will really make them think twice about their FF cars, keep it up. You will soon wipe out the entire Civic fad...hopefully.

But, I would too!

I drive because it relieves stress and relaxes me, I love my z31, its great to just take the t-tops off and cruise on the back roads at high speeds it awesome and addicting, my car has completely taken over my mind, body, and soul!!!!

I see it as a relationship, I keep her well maintained and finely tuned, and she gives me the best ride of my life.

Driving to me, is relaxing. Knows no bounds (well, besides what my car and I can handle), and its just run. Be it spirited driving or just cruising.

These days I only get to drive at the weekends so I practically jump at any chance I get to sit in my Recaro. Driving relaxes my nerves when I am on normal roads and motorways, cruising at reasonable speeds. When I go faster and VTEC opens I feel the blood flowing through my veins and it pumps the adrenalin. Its a rush that all racers feel. The excitement of being on in contact with the tarmac and feeling everything through the steering connected from the tyres and what they are telling you. This feeling is even more pronounced whenever I take to the mountain passes in Hakone. There I feel my senses heightened and I begin to feel at one with my car. Each time I go down or up the same stretch of road I know the characteristic of every curve better. It's like knowing a part of your bird's body better. The intimacy grows and it increases your confidence. As I do this I find a way to be faster round each corner, reading the road condition ahead of me and adapting accordingly.

This relationship is mutual. I spend a lot of time maintaining my car and it returns me the performance that I seek. To master the road. Its a path that has no goal. Just to keep getting better and faster.

I've never really timed myself or tried to race others on the public roads nor take part in circuit races anymore (partially because I don't have the money). I have no rivals expect myself. I feel alive on the road driving near the limits and when I return to the real world I feel a strange sense of achievement knowing I have become that little bit better.

I think Z cars are the only cars with souls.... because yeah my Z is my main priority right now... i want the best for her... but i need to watch my self sometimes i don't treat her so good and i need to start to baby her.

have you ever been to the beach with the T-Tops off? omg if feels so great.

eventually she has a turbo coming very big operation... and a very big build... to be honest, she's already emptying my wallet pinch2.gif crying2.gif but I know that if i mess something up, her heart won't work right and I'll regret it...

oh, lol. I drive become it relaxes me sometimes, other times just cause i need to get away from problems.

Pretty much any car you put blood, sweat and time into acquires a soul biggrin.gif But yeah, most newer cars are pretty bland.
