QUOTE (bless @ 2 hours, 12 minutes ago) | actually 08th ms team looks more realistic than newer series like GSD and 00 |
The 08th MS Team series is supposed to be the most realistic portrayal of how a war would look like with the use of mobile suits... and given the level of today's technology, its not far off... not to mention that the main characters there are actually human when compared to the main characters to most of the other series...

QUOTE (zerocustomrx @ Today, 9:17 AM) | ah 08th ms team. wasn't this the 1st series to use the rx-78 model?
RH31N: that was a great series too, but i still say endless waltz ftw. |
08th MS Team was the first Gundam series to use the RX-79 or RX-78 Ground Type models. The first Mobile Suit Gundam series was the first to introduce and use the RX-78...
On topic: Gundam Wing is good but its too political and philosophical for my tastes...

alright just to clear some stuff up in this thread lol.
Stardust memory is fantastic. It's another realistic series like 08th MS team. The main gundams featured are the GP-01, GP-02, and GP-03.
GP-01 "Zephyranthes" is the Gundam the hero, Kou Uraki uses for the majority of the series. It's got two types of core fighter it can dock with and depending what it's docked with it can change the suit. It's got a core fighter for atmosphere fighting and a core fighter for space fighting. Space core fighter mode is called Full Vernier mode.
GP-02 "Physalis" is stolen at the start of the series by Anaveil Gato. It's heavily armoured and is loaded up with a nuclear missile. It's pretty much the antagonist's main suit.
GP-03 is used in the last two episodes and also has two modes. The "Stamen" and the "Dendrobium" which is that massive thing you see it docked with which has massive missile pods and a massive rifle. It's Kou's upgrade suit when the GP-01 is destroyed in a fight with GP-02.
That's stardust memory's suits wrapped up, then there's the 08th MS team. Someone said it's the first series to feature RX-78, which is completely wrong. 08th MS team doesn't even feature an RX-78. The main gundams featured are the RX-79 and the EZ-8 gundam.
RX-79 is pretty much a mass-produced gundam. Only 20 were made from the left over parts from Project-V from Gundam 0079, in which The first gundam, RX-78 was born. However, the feddies couldn't afford to keep making parts for them, so as they were damaged, they were repaired in different and strange ways, such as retrofitting GM parts to them, or making completely new parts. Shiro Amada's RX-79 was badly damaged fighting Zeon's weapon Apsalus, so to repair it, they used the basic frame from the RX-79 and put new armour plating on it to make the EZ-8.
