4000 for a rust free 240Z is no biggie for me (a bit of saving, but something un-manageable). I have seen real immaculate ones in my area for 5000 or so.

And that's part of the reason i am going to give it a stronger soul :-"

It would not be a daily driver, so i can take my time with it + smog excemption is nice as well.

either that OR

Just buy a 370Z, and make it a D/D. Just get an FD Rx7 later like i was planning to anyway.

Right now, i am just focusing on getting myself back to school and finishing up the GT-R.

Just go to a junkyard in AZ or TX. you can get one rust free for like $200 (Obviously with some parts missing, But parts on these cars are cheap enough to just buy "new" ones). Hell, I will give people parts off on mine, as long as they cover shipping.

And $4k for a rust free S30 with everything functioning, is extremely reasonable, if you are just going to keep it stock. Obviously such cars are garage queens and taken care of.

Nice. I've actually been tossing around the idea of building a DD Z with a S54 BMW engine, partly because it's never been done AFAIK, and partly since it makes great power stock (which would let me pop it into a post '75 if I couldn't find anything else).

Course, gotta find a S54 engine first :(

S12 you seem to forget that the S30 is actually a sports car, pretty much a purpose built race car for the road. The S130 and the Z31 both began the long wayward journey of the Z towards the touring car esque sportscar before they finally started down the Z33/ Z34 line and back to its roots. Also I find your attempts to insult BMWNeo hilarious considering he has never owned a BMW. If you even bothered to check his post history or actually... read (something you seem to be incapable of from time to time) You'd know what he drives. He and I have EARNED the right to talk shit about Nissan. Believe me.

the right to talk shit is not earned anyone can talk shit.

the S30 is the biggest turd.

listen to your self, a purpose built race car? that made me lawl. the S30 is just that a sports car, it is by non means a "purpose built race car" as you described.

the Z33 and Z34 just freaking fail so hard i would rather hang my self to the wall then buy and drive a OBO2 car such as the 350z and the fail ass 370z .

fkn fan boys

right right....

so i guess that means if i bought a Z28 from 1967 i could call it a race car?

..... nope. ... the 240Z was never meant to be race inspired when it was first made, it was just a sports car. the time the S30 cars actually started racing was when the 280Z came out in 1976 or 75 way before the 240Z, people were actually racing them.

The Z28 was a street model race car, as was the Trans-Am, as was every other car that ran in the Trans-Am races. Boss 302 Mustang is another. So yes you could say that. Did you forget about the GT40? They sold those here too and not much was different between the LeMans version and the US street model. AC/Shelby Cobras are the same way. 2000GT's, do i need to go on? The 240Z was raced too you know just like the 2000GT's just because you didnt see it or never heard of it happening doesnt mean it wasnt.

Oh yeah, let me guess, you would roll around in your failboat Z31.

LOL

I still gotta find out the mag articles that rated the Z31 as one of the worst cars ever made.

the 240Z was definatly designed as a sport/race car infact the 240Z 432R model which was race ready(put on race wheels/tires and it was ready to go) simply had an S20 instead of the L24 and gutted with a cage. nw the Z31 on the otherhand was extensively modified to be compretitve in racing (lowered, widened, lengthened, different suspension componates,Etc.) so from looking at the facts the street-trim S30 was more race car then the street-trim Z31

now dont get me wrong i love both cars.

theres a HUGE difference between a street car and race car.

1970 camro race car

(IMG:http://freerevs.com/pictures/257712.jpg)

figure it out... theres a bigger diff then you think.

So tial BOV were around in 1969 no way, um dude trust me when i say this the Street Boss 302 and the Trans Am Boss 302 differences are very minor. You really need to re-read what i wrote because obviously you missed what i was trying to get across.

Wow. Its starting to get to the point where people are going to have to post sources :P.

East Africa Safari Rally:

240Z commercial w/ a 240Z race car

IMO a rally car is more thoroughly built than a race car would be.

And SouthSideSlider gots ya there with the 432R.

I'm just sourcing facts for correction purposes. I'm trying not to choose sides in this debate. I'm know my 280z is a turd at the moment :P.
