Are outrun even useful other than giving you rank up,what other advantages does it have? is it important to do outrun?

lulz i was doing some outrun on my WRX, nagoya outrun. i got up to 6 all S rank. but i dont think there's any point apart from rank. so if you get 1-10 all S rank, you go up one level (eg C8 -> C7) |

Alright thats enough spam. As far as we all know, Outrun is only there to acquire rank up, nothing else. The significance for outruns can be seen different through other people, but only in reality it really is only there for Rank up.
