QUOTE
5.0-liter all-aluminum beatin' heart of the 2011 Ford Mustang GT that'll pump at a rockin' 412 HP and 390 lb-ft of torque. We're told the 5.0-liter motor will be mated to a 6R80 six-speed auto or MT82 manual transmission. We're expecting we'll have more details up as soon as the embargo really breaks at the beginning of this upcoming week. For the moment — well — let's just say many Bothans at MustangHeaven and BurlappCars died to bring you these two photos.

seriously, in 05 when they released these new things they were just as worthless, that year my friend bought a roush. it was basically a gt with a fancy bodykit(that did look badass) so was therefore still slow as shit, but the key is they had independent rear suspension while ford cheaped out, and it made all the difference in the world.
once we threw on a procharger and put down 500 it was a damn good car. a mustang, AND a good car.

of course by that time you could have bought any number of better cars for the money invested

Eye Candy right there. Just hope Ol' Schwarzie doesn't block it stating emission rules.

Ford should hire Griggs and some race teams to help design a decent suspension.

Not sure why everyone bags on the solid axle, sure they could do ifs, but its not like they're sports cars from the start, and with the trac pacs they handle pretty damn well, 400 hp for 30 grand, why not.

Yeap.. Mustangs are quite cheap (at least in the US, they double price to get them to Euro) and one of the reasons is the primitive suspension.. of course they could put it a new one , but it would increase the price .. maybe they coudl compromise and simply put in an independant one (like the E30 BMWs) and not some fancy multi-link one.
