Do you think it would be better to own a MT machine(s), or to go to the arcade? This is in terms of saving money & having fun.

Maximum Tune 3DX Cabs are $10,495USD each (not sure if cards + shipping are included)
4x10,495= $41,980USD
Source

Note: Maximum Tune 3 cabs are $7,736.82USD each
Is it really worth spending $2,758.18 more, to get 3 new cars, one new track, and some slightly better graphics?
Source

Let's do some math for those who support the arcades:
For people who constantly battle-
(assuming each race is roughly 3minutes and $1USD per game)
$4 for the first 3 minutes + (3x17)= $55/ hour

For people who constantly do storymode, ghost etc-
(assuming each race will be 3 minutes again)
$4x20= $80/ hour

I assumed each race will be 3 minutes because Hakone IB & OB, C1 IW & OW, Nagoya, Yokohane DW & UW are all around 3 minutes in terms of time attack. Since that's already more than half the courses, I decided 3 minutes would be a good median to choose.

For those who support owning a MT machine, electricity billing rates vary from country to country so someone else would have to fill this in for me since I don't even know my own rates LOL.

I'm not sure if they offer discounts or not if you buy more than one cab. But I just multiplied their single cabs by four.

I'd rather Go to Arcade

In the arcade. You can chat with other players. In home, you can't.

simple fact is i dont have a spare 10k all now.

if i didnt play this game, sure i would have saved naybe near 5k, but then i wouldnt go spend in on the machine, well simply because i dont play it.

if i played and then still had the money spare, yeah i would.
use the machine at home to do story / dress up and then TA.

i'd still go to the arcade though for battles.

You don't.

If you want stars, get a 8191 rename.
Otherwise, the machine is good for practicing time attack without wasting money, and having an insane dress up level.

i've ever thought abt it. it would be great to have my own little place and an mt machine lying in one corner. or double machines biggrin.gif

but knowing myself, i will probably be the kind who buys something, gets excited abt it for a couple of mths and the interest dies after that.

so needing to go to the arcades to play will probably help to maintain interest in the game for a longer period of time. its ironic, but ppl do tend not to appreciate things that they do not put in any effort for.

moreover 4 way battle mode is the best of the best mode in mt and u can't have that playing at home smile.gif

If I had the money for a cabinet, I'd quit the game and buy a real car.

I reckon it should be called a 'f**king proper investment'.

once u start working on a full time basis and earning your own money, u will get your car, i'm sure smile.gif

one thing abt mt or games in general, is that u can crash your car totally and still drive it as if it is new. great for venting your frustration after a tough day biggrin.gif

Well...technically, get one cab, start a tuning service, and you can get your money back, somewhat.

But of course, that will require high dedication and copious amounts of time, so good luck with that.

$10k is definitely not worth it for a cabinet.
but then if you split the bill with your friends/team then thats a different story biggrin.gif

but I guess putting them in your house would be pretty difficult.

Agreed. It would be a good long term investment, with something that can get you from a to b.
