Hi,

Probably a good idea to read The Snake first (which can be found here http://wmexpressway.net/index.php?showtopic=30118) before moving onto this one.

I will update when I can, please keep in mind I am very busy in general so sometimes you may not see an update for awhile, which I apologise for in advance.

Anyway, thought I'd get the ball rolling for now. Hope you enjoy it and thanks for taking the time to read. Makes it all worth it.

PREFACE:

In the still of the night, the Hunter had her eyes set upon a sleeping pack of Wolves ahead within the dense foliage. She had been on a long, hard, lonely journey searching for these menaces. Without even giving them any honor, she drew out her bow and flint encrusted arrow, striking the arrowhead across the ground in a sweeping motion in the ready position, holding the arrow in an upright forty five degree angle with the bow and arrows tension to be released in her small hands. The world became in slow motion as she let her fingers slip from the back of the flaming arrow, flying through the air like a fireball as it made its course towards the sleeping wolves, the arrow landing amongst dried grass they slept on, creating a ring of fire around them before the sound of wailing and distress could be heard, burning them alive.

The Hunter looked ahead to find one wolf still burning, staggering it's way towards the Hunter in an attempt to protect it's pack. The Hunter pulled out another arrow from her quiver slung around her back, drawing aim towards the eyes of the Wolf.

CHAPTER 1: MORRIGAN

Morrigan (can be defined as) - The Morrígan ("phantom queen") or Mórrígan ("great queen") (also known as Morrígu, Morríghan, Mor-Ríoghain, sometimes given in the plural as Morrígna) is a figure from Irish mythology who appears to have once been a goddess, although she is not explicitly referred to as such in the texts.

She is associated with sovereignty, prophecy, war, and death on the battlefield. She sometimes appears in the form of a crow, flying above the warriors, and in the Ulster cycle she also takes the form of an eel, a wolf, and a cow. She is generally considered a war deity comparable with the Germanic Valkyries, although her association with cattle also suggests a role connected with fertility, wealth, and the land.

August, 2009.

Morrigan Amsley was not like most girls her age. Most twenty three year old girls were either hitched up with a partner, pursuing travel or studying towards a career in a profession. She was a freelance artist, at best. Namely in tattoo's she had a vested interest in, though she could not use a needle gun since she lacked the knowledge to do so. Her appearance lead to believe she would do well with intricate detailing however; six foot in height and weighing roughly 65 kilograms, she looked slender yet soft looking. She wore Amethyst contact lenses, with jet black hair cropped short above her shoulders and wore dark rimmed reading glasses. Her skin was pale, which indicated she was not much of an outdoors person. She had numerous piercings also; three small blue studs in her left ear, a naval piercing and another stud through the right nipple of her breast. She felt slightly ashamed of the size of her breasts, as they were around a c-cup size. Morrigan also had one tattoo, that of a Black Crow on her left shoulder. Her personality was mostly introverted though expressed herself best through her Art. She earned a living through selling tattoo inspired designs to local car detailers; her work had become well known at various Show Car meets such as Autosalon in Sydney. Unfortunately, she was rarely acknowledged for her work but rather the companies that would carry out the work on the vehicles. Morrigan had a fair interest in cars herself, though she drove a 1998 Lancer gli coupe. It was silver in colour and had an aftermarket exhaust fitted. The car had a smell of tobacco through it that not even the air freshener could cope with, since most of her money went towards cigarettes and alcohol. She lived in a small apartment in Newtown, Sydney which suited her fine as it was known for being an Alternative demographic. King st. is known for being a hub of many cafes, restaurants and bars. She knew many people however only had a handful of friends, whom she did not see often anyway. It was an early Sunday morning as Morrigan sat on a seat outside one of her favorite cafes, nursing a hangover from last night after drinking heavily. She rubbed her neck to feel bruising from love bites as she bit her bottom lip. She wore torn, stovepipe black jeans with no belt, a black t-shirt that read "CAUTION: RADIOACTIVE AREA" in bold yellow writing. She carried only her wallet, car key, apartment key and mobile phone.

Watching the world pass by for several hours, Morrigan looked ahead over the road to discover the Sunday Markets were on near the Town Hall. She rubbed her head groaning as she traipsed towards the stalls, searching for a bargain, namely with art supplies as she could not afford to buy from the actual store - well, she could, but that meant giving up cigarettes and alcohol, two vices she could not let go of. She picked up various items, such as cartridge paper reams, biro pens, graphite, a soft knead eraser and a book on how to draw fantasy creatures. A bargain at $15 for the lot. It was around 1pm as she decided lunch would be an idea. She walked to a Thai take away that was near the University of Sydney and ordered her favorite, Pad Kee Mao, or known as Drunken Noodle. It was hot and spicy, the way she liked it. She ate outside, in the sunsoaked surroundings of the main, bustling street. The one thing that bothered her was that King st. was in a constant state of traffic blockage. She casually observed the cars before her eyes opened, noticing one of her tattoo pattern designs on the side of a purple Mistubishi Evolution VIII RS. It appeared heavily modified, with Advan RS wheels and a sound emitting from the engine that stirred something within her. She could not see the driver - the windows were tinted dark. She had never seen the car before and was in general aware of all the cars that had her design as she took photos. Regardless she quickly took out her mobile phone and took a snapshot using the camera within it as it sat idling in the traffic.

She felt uneasy about the car, it's presence imprinted into her mind.

Morrigan opened the door to her apartment, observing her surroundings. It was small, and messy. Various magazines and art medium were sprawled around the Analog television she only ever turned on once that sat on the left of the room. To the right was a three-seater couch and behind it a small round table with three chairs which is where she did most of her work. The kitchen was hardly used and mostly stored her recent works on the kitchen bench. The bathroom was something from the 70's, trapped in her apartment. Her bed was in the same room as the rest of the living area and was to the right upon opening the door. She sat at the table and begun scrawling ideas in silence with the new book she had purchased. She spent several hours at the table, not getting up until she decided she was not satisfied with any of the work she had completed for the day. Frustrated, she decided to take a shower. It was 6pm. During her shower she heard the phone ring, which was something of a rarity as she leapt out naked, almost slipping as she answered the phone hastily,

"Hello!?"
"Oh, sorry, did I call at a bad time?"

Morrigan cleared her throat as she tried to identify who was on the other end of the phone, "No no...I was just in the shower." The voice on the other end laughed, it sounded like a man however,

"Well, this is Morrigan right? My name is Tokita Namakura. I won't take up a great deal of your time, however I have seen in various magazines your works done on cars, very nice! It was very hard to get a hold of a contact number for yourself since nothing was advertised."

Morrigan sighed slightly, "Yes well, I don't get recognised much for it. Thanks all the same, and yes, I am Morrigan. Are you offering me work?" She asked, getting to the point of the call as the sound of rushing water from the shower could be heard through the phone.

"I am offering you work, when is a good time to catch up?"

Later that evening Morrigan waited outside a bar that was on King st. It was a busy evening as the streets were filled with an eclectic mix of people from all walks of life. Morrigan wore more reasonable clothing - black jeans, black lace heels and a charcoal grey t-shirt. Her hair was tied into two small tails that resided under each of her ear lobes. She leaned against the wall outside the entrance of the bar, feeling time slip by judging by the amount of ciagrettes she would casually light up. During her fourth cigarette, a man of Asian appearance, in his late forties approached her - he was fastidiously presented in what appeared a fine dark blue suit and shirt with a salmon pink tie. His hair was parted to one side and was clean shaven. The man's eyes were tense as he looked to Morrigan, "Thank you for sparing your time to meet up with me, I am Tokita." he spoke in confident English. Morrigan removed herself from the wall, looking down to notice his hand was extended, she replied with a cracked smile and a loose hand shake. They both walked inside the bar and proceeded to go to the top level which was an outdoor bar area.

"I will not take up too much of your time Morrigan."
"What's this job?"

Namakura opened his suit jacket to take out an envelope. He opened it carefully and pulled out a white letter and five photographs. He put the photos in front of Morrigan as she observed them casually under the dim light. Each photo contained a different car with it's driver standing proudly beside it. She could not identify any of the vehicles except for the fifth photograph which was of Skyline GT-R R33. The letter that accompanied the Photo's came with a phone number only. Morrigan's eyes returned to Namakura's unreadable face.

"There is a new race team that will be coming from Japan to here to compete in various race events. Your work has somehow reached overseas interest and they would like to commission you to create designs for their cars."

Morrigan paused for a moment, "That's fine, I'm not really doing anything else at the moment so I can take on the work. Can I ask what the rate of pay will be?"

Namakura pointed at the phone number, "I am not sure, though that number is one you could reach them through with."

She nodded, "So, why did they send you down here then?"

Namakura smiled, "I am a Team Ambassador of sorts."

Morrigan listened, "So, how long will this job be for?"

"When all five cars are completed with their desired designs. You will be paid accordingly for your time of course."

Morrigan stood outside the bar after the short meeting with Namakura as her eye trailed down the street, losing sight of him within the crowd as he walked away. She held in her hand five photos and a letter with a phone number. She stuffed the photos and letter half way under the front of her jeans as she walked away to catch up with friends at her local watering hole.

CHAPTER 2: IREZUMI

At Sydney Airport near the International Terminal, a private Jet came down to land. It was dark and rain begun to sunder down. There were six Businessmen onboard the Jet. All were impeccably dressed in the finest suits from Hugo Boss, Ralph Lauren and Burberry. The men conversed amongst themselves in good humor as they got off the Jet, the downpour of rain not bothering them as ushers held umbrella's out to cover them from the rain. Two black Limousines waited for them direct near the Jet.

They appeared to have no luggage.

The two Limo's drove the men to Star City Casino in Pyrmont, pulling up into the valet parking area. The men got out of the Limo's, observing the other cars parked in the Valet area. There were a few ordinary, mass produced cars that lingered out of the front. The men chose to reside by the bar to pass time. They all ordered drinks as they conversed amongst themselves, one of the men, Cuan, spoke up,

"The quality of vodka in my drink is less than acceptable."

Another man, Eyolf, turned to him, "All you ever do on these trips is complain about the smallest things. Can you not just be happy with what is given to you?"

Cuan gave Eyolf a look of disapproval. Another man amongst them, Louvel, chimed in before Cuan could reply, "I think what is of import, is finding a suitable sponsor for our race team."

The man beside Eyolf, Tala, responded, "That is Namakura's responsibility."

The other two men remained quiet, sipping on their drinks placidly. The other men fell silent.

Morrigan arrived home in the early hours of the morning, she was somewhat intoxicated but sober enough to be aware of where she was and what she was currently doing. She undressed herself down to her underwear and sat with her legs crossed on the bed, pulling her laptop onto her lap. She turned it on and logged into her Instant Messanging Program, checking if anyone else was up at the obscure hour of the morning she was. There were a few people online however their status displayed 'Away'. She sighed, before logging off a pop-up window appeared with the message;

'The user Razor wants to be your friend, lonegenesis@popmail.jp"

Morrigan clicked the button to accept the addition curious as to who it may of been as she did not recognise the e-mail. Perhaps she gave it to someone at the bar whilst she was heavily intoxicated, but upon further inspection of the email she noticed something,

'.jp'

"Somebody from Japan?" She thought to herself before the pop-up disappeared and the user 'Razor' appeared. Razor appeared as 'Away' in the friends list. She opened a new window and wrote,

Morrigan says:

Hi, you added me. Who is this?

She waited a few minutes with the window open, yet there was no reply. She looked motionlessly at the screen before shutting off the monitor and crawling under the sheets. Before she closed her eyes, she turned her head to the alarm clock, it was 6am.

* * * * *

The following day Morrigan called the number she had been given, being asked to meet with Namakura again only this time in Tempe, which was only a ten minute train trip for her. They had agreed to meet at a Warehouse along the Princes Highway. It was around 2pm and it was a mild, sunny day.

"Thanks for showing interest in the job." Namakura smiled as he met Morrigan out the front of the unmarked warehouse.

Morrigan observed her surroundings. There were several cars parked outside the front that appeared nothing out of the ordinary.

"So Morrigan, in about a week or so time there will be a motor show on for modifed vehicles in Homebush. Do you think you could get the designs for all five cars done within that time?"

"A week is a bit of short notice, also, I am bit strapped on cash at the moment to really buy any materials I would need." Morrigan replied.

"Oh, well, hopefully by this evening we will have a sponser for our team here."

"A sponser?"

"Yes, to help support funds. Your work would be included as part of the budget."

Morrigan asked, "So, what do you want me to do now then?"

"Inside the warehouse are three out of the five cars. You may start on the ones inside if you like, there is an office inside you can use to create the designs you need and pass onto our painters inside once done."

"Where are the other two cars? Don't you need all five done by next week for the show?"

"One of the cars unfortunately was stolen last night from it's owners place. The other car is currently still due to be shipped over here. If we fail on the other two cars we can substitute with cars from other members of the team."

Morrigan went inside with Namakura and met the painters who would create the design onto the actual car. They knew a little bit of the English but mostly spoke in Japanese amongst themselves. There was two of them. The warehouse itself was simple and clean, with three cars parked within it, spaced a metre apart from each other. A purple R35 GT-R, a Silver Porsche 997 and a white R32 GT-R. Morrigan was familiar with the cars and got the feeling they appeared valuable however she did not know the expense. Namakura approached her as she circled around each car with care,

"I'll leave you to it."

"Wait, Namakura, what sort of design are these people after?"

"Use your imagination." He smiled, before walking away.

Morrigan looked to the desk to her right. It had various stationary on it and different gradings of paper. She looked at the clock as it read 3pm. Scratching her head, she begun to doodle on the page mindlessly, with no direction as to what to design for these cars. Frustrated after about half an hour with no real direction, she raised her head and looked to one of the painters and observed a tattoo on his forearm. It appeared as a traditional Japanese tattoo, also known as she remembered it as being called Irezumi. She unconsciously stared at the man, before he felt eyes pressed on him as he turned his head to her direction, whereby that time she quickly jolted her head back to the desk and begun to scrawl various ideas like as if she had just come to some sort of realization of what would suit the cars. Time passed by as she looked to her watch, it was 6pm. She looked down to the work she had completed. In total there were eleven different tattoo inspired designs as finished copies, though after some time she narrowed it down to three she liked best. The first was of a dragon, the second was of various flora and the third was of birds. Morrigan turned her head to notice the painters were still around as they smoked outside. She got up off the seat and politely asked the two painters if they could take a look at her work. They nodded and casually walked over. Their expressions were motionless. Morrigan looked at them slightly nervous. One of the painters pulled out his mobile phone and begun to take photos of some of the works. Morrigan quickly pointed out which three she liked best, though he didn't appear to take notice. She peered over to his phone to notice he was sms'ing the photos to someone.

"I am just sending some of these to the potential sponser." the painter finally spoke.

A few minutes had not even passed before his phone rang, they spoke in Japanese fast to one another before he hung up.

"We would like to take possession of your works here, including any drafts and we will pay you immediately." The painter smiled.

Morrigan nodded as the painter walked away, returning after a few minutes with an envelope. Morrigan opened it to find a thick wad of $100 notes. It must of been at least $3000. Her eyes widened as she could not contain the shock.

"Is it not enough?" The painter asked.

"Oh, no it's fine." She tried to contain herself.

WOLF PACK

A lone wolf that had an arrow through it's skull opened it's eyes faintly, the blood that seeped through it's head had coagulated, miraculously cheating death. The wolf observed around the area it's fallen pack to the Hunter, it's eyes sullen as it nuzzled at the others, hoping one would wake up.

After some time, the Wolf sat there motionlessly, imprinted in it's mind that of the Hunter. It begun to take small, uneasy steps forward, following the scent of the Hunter.

Thanks a lot man!

I have decided to make this story all original, so it is not a fan-fiction.

But after this one I may consider continuing The Snake.
