Hey! Noob here! Started playing MT4 just 2 months ago with an RX-7 FD3S as my first car. FT'd it after a month and i have had no problems with it... except until about a week ago when i was started being challenged by rank A and up ( even SSS) players from overseas running Evo's and GTR's. I find it really hard to keep up especially on the straights (particularly Wangan and Osaka). Even with a setting about a level higher than the rival car (with minimum sliding/drifting while changing lanes and a smooth racing line on curves), i still couldn't keep up on the straights. Is this an inherent trait of the FD in the game? Some local players are telling me to give the RX-8 a go (because of the better accel-- and cause it's "6-gears"?!) but i really want to find a way to be faster without the need to burn the other car (coz I was the one ending up being extra crispy as hell! ). Is this even remotely possible? Thanks guys!

QUOTE (Normalaatsra @ 20 minutes, 48 seconds ago) | RX-8 is slower than RX-7 FD on the straights. If you're looking for a faster RX-7, that would be the FC3S model. Number of gears mean nothing. |
I'm actually in the process of deciding whether to try and get an FC3S just for the fact that it might be faster on the straights. Still not sure 'coz I haven't driven an FT'd FC. But wouldn't it get "bashed around" during battles 'coz of it being on the lighter-side on the weight dept? And yes! I agree on the "gearings" not playing much of a factor. The thing i love about the FD is that I feel like i can STILL drive properly even though the setting is in "Drift" or "Dangerous" (at least that's what i think).. Just a matter of modifying timing of gearshifts, entry speed and angle (on curves) when in a higher HP set-up. And i do agree that it can really eat up some cars in the corners, but MAN... In the straights, i just can't seem to keep up. Hmmmm.. but I'm still quite new and there are a lot of techniques i have still yet to learn, so i guess... Practice pa! Hehe. Thanks ya'll. Appreciate it! [ Post merged on Aug 5 2014, 08:25 PM ] QUOTE (CarlRaven @ 32 minutes, 55 seconds ago) | It is possible, you just need the right setup for it.
For good measure, here's my FD.

I've been using this setting ever since I unlocked the relevant DU parts that it uses. |
COOL FD! Aero C, right? Very tastefully done. *thumbs up*

QUOTE (GreggMD @ 22 minutes, 0 seconds ago) | Thanks, bro.. Noted. Hopefully will be having more seat time as long as my wallet allows! Lol |
One thing that might help you is that you adopt the mindset of "One last swipe/credit". It means, regardless if you're doing TA or battle you're pushing yourself to do better than the last time using one just credit. It has the effect of hastening your learning.
Worked for others so why not?

I've actually been doing this for the past 2 weeks now. Last month, i got so hooked that I spend about P1.5k (25 games) on one seating. Haha! It really burned a hole in my pocket! So now I try to limit it at around 10 games at most (5=story, 3=online/japcha, 2=crown attempt).. and usually on the last 2 games, I really try my damnest to get a clean (if not a better) run. It really focuses you once you knew you're on your last game. PLUS, it's so fulfilling when you win! [ Post merged on Aug 5 2014, 11:26 PM ]QUOTE (N643 @ 1 hour, 22 minutes ago) | ^ sorry bro its pretty bandwagon now since the update |
I have to agree on this one with N643. But still, wouldn't mind building one just for kicks! Looks Bad-ass IMHO! [ Post merged on Aug 5 2014, 11:32 PM ] QUOTE (CarlRaven @ 48 minutes, 3 seconds ago) | Yeah, it's Aero C. Tried the other new Aeros with the parts you see there and it didn't suit me. |
Nice! For me, I'd like to keep it simple. Going for an RE-look: Teal Blue, Aero A, Carbon Scoot Hood, Carbon (APR-ish) Spoiler with bronze CE28's. Still wasn't able to take a photo of it so, yeah. I guess you get the picture.
