Been awhile since I did anything to my car lately so I figure now is a good time.

I replaced my STi JDM Rear Strut Tower Bar with a Solid Piece Carbing Bar. The difference is HUGE. I could tell I would feel the difference as soon as I put them side by side. I could feel the rear rotating alot faster when casually exiting the freeway off ramp, I have a track day at the end of the month so Im excited about seeing its full potential

I was still able to use the back seat and once you get in you cant tell its even in place, but you could see it through the rear window and thats my only complaint....Im not a big fan of showing off my mod. Im thinking about having it painted either black or the same color grey that its sits up against.

Wow, didn't realize you guys had to cut stuff up to fit a rear strut bar... ours fit nicely in the trunk with a hole cut on either side in the liner. Looks good though, I bet there really is a big difference there.

I wish I had a track day upcoming... Season doesn't start here until April sad.gif

We dont actually, Its just Carbings design. Their bars go up and through the rear trunk lid. All the other run though the trunk. I noticed almost all of Carbings braces besides the front strut bar require some modifications to be made or else panels/seats have to be moved. The cuts are small and look worse in the picts, but you cant even see one the seats are back in. But with the other Carbing I have on the way all that stuff will be getting taken out anyway : evil grin:

Thanks, I know a friend who has alot of their braces and I like the quality fitment and the function is more present then other company braces I've had.

edit: The Subaru is now or family race car. It will be Time Attacked and Autocrossed by me, my wife and daughter. I picked up a GC8 as a daily driver and my daugher decided on a 06 STi for her car...(momma mad lmao).

Your wife and daughter are awesome! Thats like my family;

Dad- Time Attack prepped ACR SRT-4
Mom - a Mazda CX-7 that has bolt-ons which she is trading for a G37 S this spring.
Me - FD3S RX7, and a '05 2.5RS Daily
Little Brother - S14 here really soon!

I think the whole family competition thing here is fun.

Yes it is fun, only thing I dont like is it attracks alot of leg humping dudes from my daughters school (I dont think I'll ever get use to it lmao). Those SRT4's make crazy power. Some would say I'm crazy....but I think they respond better to power mods better then Evo's. Only thing holding them back is traction is almost non existant laugh.gif

My wife and I notice a lot of that with our GT-R too... We can only hope that if we have children that turn out into future driving enthusiasts they'll learn quickly how to separate true fans and sycophantic pissants who wouldn't know a coilover from a camshaft.

Your ride seems clean. Welcome.

If you plan on racing the car, some Endless brake pads and RF650 should be in order too.

Sorry, I had to put my shameless plug.

I am a huge fan of Carbing stuff too.

For brakes we already looking into a AP Racing kit or the Stop Tech ST-60. Endless is cool and all (mostly bling), but new parts are not cost effective and the wait time is ridiculous....even from authorized vendors.

I wouldn't say Endless is anywhere near bling, I mean yes the calipers and rotors are attractive but they have a few cars running Endless set-ups in ALMS, Super GT and the Rolex Sports Car championship. They are definately motorsports based and proven like AP Racing, Pagid and Project Mu.

Your about to fire up BmwNeoType....here we go!

Use whichever calipers you please. The brake pads that come with those calipers are ok at best. If you need to upgrade the calipers really depends on a lot of things. Most effective upgrade is pads and fluid on blank or slotted disks.

I already know that. . . I just have experience and know what parts I want, and Endless isnt on the list for reasons. Pads of choice will be Ferodo DS3000 Brake Pad or DTC-70 for sure. I got a trans and engine coming in from Canada so the rest wil be figured out later.

I was going to suggest the PFC Z-rated pads. They'll be a lot quieter than the Ferodos and will stop on a dime once you get them really heated. That's not to say they don't stop well cold, they just do better after a few hard stops.

I've been running them since August and love them.

SoCal Evo mentioned them as well.
