As much as I love the look of my R33 and driving it daily, it's time to have a dedicated track car now. The R33 will go to the track for practice and competitions. I will be picking up this 1983 R30. Fun times to come for sure with a new fresh project. I will not be going over the top with this car. Just mechanical stuff first to follow with sleek body kit, fresh paint job and wheels.

oh my goodness a FJ20ET!!!!!!
you should stroke it with the FJ24 crank, good luck with build FJ will run you $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ parts are super hard to find, if you fully mod it 70% of those parts will have to be custom made/CNC.
however i LOVE the R30 pignose.

Its already modded not doing much else to it. Also I live in Japan lol so whats rare to you is not the same for me brother.
I make my own parts as well so that's a plus. Im just going to refresh the car and drive it. I have two track cars already that's where all the crazy stuff happens lol.

I know that I'm not a big fan of the R30 Skylines but I like the fresh and preserved look of that R30. Even with those mods, that car still looks stock.
One question though, are you planning to add a rear wing or will you leave it wingless?

initially Ill be swapping all the bushings for fresh ones and just going over the car with a finetooth comb so that I can see what I need to get done to keep the body intact.
I will be getting rid of all the old school tuning devices as well. Engine bay is way to cluttered. The car is going back stateside with me and will be daily driven and very lightly raced.

yes it will be brung to the states.. trying to get it running properly been basically cleaning and replacing parts.. Classic cars are cool yet a pain in the dicks.
Some work from today... no point in really going back of all I have done so far so Ill pick it up from here.
Today took the other parts to the hobby shop to blast them off before installing. While blasting found another possible issue that screws up the idle and rev. The Diaphragm of the ACC valve has a small tear in it. I could not see this while mounted on the manifold. Sadly this part is discontinued as is much of the other parts on this engine........ so I will have to find on YAJ or a sites such as passion-2000... I just need to find out who can place an order for me since its all Japanese.
Inspected the turbo zero radial or axial shaft play etc all good to go.
Made a Block plate for the EGR and bolted the EGR back on for JCI purpose.. its in dumb mode as you can see. I just modified it to fit with the block plate on as well.
Cleaned up the rats nest under the manifold cant really tell with these dark pictures but its much better. I can put my hands under the manifold and touch everything no problem.
Got some purplish pink vacuum line from Allan... I dont like it with my scheme though so going to switch to black line.. Thanks for letting me get the line Allan.
I just got done about 30 min ago, started to get a head/backache so called it a night.
Tomorrow morning ill fab up the IC piping and brackets and see how this thing runs... Hoping for the best...... anyone got a decently new nissan single wire O2 sensor laying around??
