I don't mind this competition but I am horribly annoyed by the amount of threads being made for it. AND THIS IS ONLY ROUND 1.
GT3 RS, find a way to keep using one thread, at most two.

QUOTE (GT3 RS @ 1 hour, 13 minutes ago) | I could maybe start one theme thread, where all the themes for the different rounds would be announced and users could enter their pictures. But,for every round,a new poll would have to be made. Impossible to keep it at two, unless polls can be edited and reset. |
I have an idea. After this, why not make a new thread, with all poll options listed from 1-10, and in the OP you just "assign" each number to each entry. It may limit the amount of pictures to be submitted for one round, but at least it will help remove the clutter of threads away, as long as you update the OP when necessary.
But with some moderator assistance, we can do this without my suggestion above.

It'll be easier with PM Submissions, but voting's going to require it's own thread per round. Two active threads at any given time (one permanent, one voting per round) is doable.
Again, it's a photo comp, it's about getting people active and off their asses to do something cool and fun other than race in their games. My activity in this section was practically nonexistent until this, and it's helping with traffic in general. And quite frankly, you can't argue with traffic.
EDIT: Since the non-elegant method of reusing the voting thread was mentioned while I was typing, you think you're pissed off about clutter, Geo? Try dealing with pages and pages of post irrelevant to the current voting.

True. I think PM submissions is a good idea.

QUOTE (cmspaz @ Yesterday, 1:52 AM) | I mean have one, ongoing thread, where winners, new themes, and a leaderboard exist. Leaderboard would be edited weekly in the first post, themes and winner announcements would be done as new posts. It can then serve to keep a history of the winners and their photos as well.
You take submissions via PM every week and then make a voting thread for each competition, which could then be closed and archived once the next voting round starts the following week. |
Hmm...I like that. I may just do that! Though,I think it would have to be stickied. What do you guys think about the stickying part?
