ITT: You're in a zombie shitstorm apocalypse. And we're not talking about like "The Walking Dead" zombies. More like "28 Weeks Later" zombies, they sprint at you at the slightest sound, if it's night and you have your flashlight on they come towards it then you give away your position.

Objective is you find out there's a military ship awaits for the survivals of the zombie apocalypse across the next town that will be leaving in two days. To get to town and cross it will take you a day and a half or two days depending if you want to take a rest in between. The town is swarming with zombies. You either can take a long way, go around the town but that will take you 2-3 days, depending on what you have (Over 10kg of gear, you won't make it). Or you go through the town that is filled with zombies and there is a group that barricaded themselves in the town pretty heavily against zombies, they pretty much kill anyone who has valuable items (such as guns, meds, food and etc.)

innawoods.net

Rate each others gear, tell what you need, what would be better.
Survival chance: 1-10 (10 being good and 1 you're f**ked)
Gear: 1-10

Note, over 10kg of gear will slow you down and you won't make it. Pack light. Bigger guns, bigger noise so you're fu*ked.

rate mine guise...

Terrible. L4D2 has taught us all we need is:
1. A Katana and;
2. A frying pan.

The alternative is just to beat zombie brains out with Med-packs 8D.

just a shade shy of 9.8kg..

Survival: 8/10 (as long your place doesn't have Snow and other nasty crap of a weather and variance of concentration in zombie groups)
Gear: 9/10 : most likely you can fend off zombies at a probable prescribed time as long it doesn't go on a stampeding hordes, groups of 8-10 zombies can be easily neutralized with that gear

notes: you could replace a Commando knife to a Bolo-class or Kukri-class knife if you plan on CQB chopping/beheading action

then again I'll rate you only for now, I can't survive these kind of condition tho

^^ i see you're heading for war with the zombies..
Survival: 9/10
Gear: 10/10
But the weight scale in that site is broken abit...and on practical terms...the raiders will get a jump on you considering all those equipment around you will get you killed rather quickly...well my 2 cents...

this time...packing really light just around 1.3kg...using the backroads and shizz...

there has a 1911 double stack mag... 2011 was it or something like that

original design of M1911 is single stacked magazne format, however double stack mags are quite rarely used in my place since majority of the police force and gun owners are used to single stack ones...

okay now I rate thy hobo with a shotgun

Gear: 3/10
Survival: 3 (if really old man) to 5 (young hobo with good sense)/10

if he used his good sense of survival he'll quite last longer than a day unless asking for a kamikaze dive to a stampede of zombies

Mine's based on a scenario where the zombie outbreak occurred while I'm at work... and the gear is composed of all the stuff that I can grab from the ff:
1) dead soldiers/ policemen
2) hardware store
3) convenience store
4) grocery
5) office

Total weight: 6.534kg (based on the broken calculator) or roughly 7-8kg (rough estimate based on available stuff...)

@RB33
my gripe would be the guns... Primary and Sidearms are too impossible at your place FN P-90's ammo is pretty impossile to find unless storming it on Camp Crame, however HK Mk23 SOCOM or is it HK USP.45 Tactical

Survival: 6/10 (considering the area of getting mobbed will be high)
Gear: 6/10 (replace it either M16A1-A4/Baby Armalite/M4 series with either 1911/beretta M92F/Glock and probably you'll get a 7)

@Benevolence
as long doing wetworks that might be the rifleman class, if they were closest to the APC's and to the base they could be lighter than your gear setup, as for weapon choices it is feasible depends on which territory that a country sides to...

The marine barracks at Fort Bonifacio is pretty much near my place of work... so... resupply is good... if I can evade hordes of zombie marines XD

Not to mention that an M14 or some similar weapon would put my gear's weight at almost 10kg...

@benovelence
well.. I tried to make my gear as light as possible while being able to competently fend off small attacks...

my rating for your gear:

Survival
1) short term: 8/10 - great for fending off zombies while heading for the APC or extraction vehicle... no to mention that the wet suit offers protection from them zombie viral/blood infections...
2) long term: 2/10 - unless you plan to hole up in some well-stocked and defended place... where's the food and water?...

Gear: 7/10 - I haven't tried a wet suit before but it seems a bit awkward to move around in unless you're used to it... and again.... where's the food and water?...

Anyway, here's a gear from sniper school:

user posted image

And here's another gear set to a similar situation (weekend this time) as the first setup with a total weight: 9.632kg (as per the fragged weight computer):

I used to have a buddy that his dad is a former AFP (forgot the rank but higher ranking but lower than general)

and yeah he also mentioned that FN started bugging his dad for FN-P90 to the AFP and horribly failed due to reliability test of emptying 2 full 50 round mags in full automatic and shoot again... and it didn't shoot on the 3rd reload.... thus his dad replied to the FN salesman rejected the offer of FN-P90 to the army (and it was few years ago)

in totality I too and even NATO is still undecided on the next round to be standardized on Hi-velocity rounds like on HK's 4.7X30 or FN's 5.7X28

and weird reasons that I also advised 5.56mm ones because it's pretty darn common ammos to hoard in Makati Cinema Square rolleyes.gif

problem if weight is concerned baby armalite is the next best thing to M4's

and hell if one of my Boss' buddies even arranged stuff enough to defend when Apocalypse Z to happen... (because he works at a gun shop thus guns is not a problem) and also his buddies are armed with M4's and 1911's rolleyes.gif

and by crap when it happens i only have an really old AEG of FN P-90 with a Desert Eagle Springer to defend myself =_=;;

okay... now I rate your sniper setup...

Gear: 6/10 (it seemed for assists for their teammates)
Survival: 6/10 (chances of getting trampled by zombies will be your next problem)

Weird Suggestions: if the weight of HK MP5K is lighter than the HK Mk23 SOCOM .45 and you could replace that and set it on single/burst option, if you chose HK USP .45 Tactical instead disregard the MP5K

My long term and short term gears. Please rate:
Long term (8.6 kg according to weight counter):
user posted image
If I'd have to hunker down and fire against zombies or against a few other armed survivors, I need to have at least enough firepower to hold my own: violence of action works against a wave of mindless running zombies methinks. laugh2.gif

Short term (Weight counter got broken at this point, but I'm thinking this is just 4-5kg):
user posted image
If I want to run around the alleys to avoid the larger concentration of zombies, mobility needs to be as good as possible without compromising the need for food and water. I'm not sure if I'm packing enough ammo though.

Gear: 6/10

Weird Suggestions: your primary rifle is ok my gripe would be your secondaries no melee weapons?

sidearm suggestions: if you want to use Beretta M92 pistol instead get a Taurus 92 instead minus the famed beretta upper slide off on after 10000th rounds

if you opt for Glock 9mm with 30 round Extended clips and do make sure that your 9mm ammos are not reloads... Glocks are picky eaters they like virgin bullets (one of my boss use to have a G26 and a 30 round clip rolleyes.gif but the legendary myth of "Glocknade" or exploding Glocks are at older gens)

as for your short term setup... HK Rifle class are a rarity in our local area, HK MP5 classes are more common to that as for pistol refer back to my Glock explaination

HK G36 is probably more seen than HK53/33 or HK G3 series, and the last timeI saw a HK G36 series was in Erap's time

Why two pistols? Because I wouldn't really bring out a knife in a wide area with a lot of zombies running after me, I'd rather keep them at bay by going guns akimbo. laugh2.gif

I didn't even know our armed forces had G36 in their armory, I always thought the M4/M16 was the standard issue AR and that MP5 were common with the police and SWAT teams.

Anyway, I did a new build inspired by sir RB's sniper school gear, this time for zombie camping.

Erap's presidential bodyguards has few G36's at the time..

AFP rifles has Few M14s and majority were M16A2, and baby armalites, and possibly very few M4A1

as for MP5's probably earlier batches or A2
