Today - TA Metro Tokyo: Hit 5 reds and 2 blue. Hit some nice turns and had fun besides some full on inevitable crashes I think my time ended up at 12'09'9xx for no update. - TA Metro Kanagawa: Keep stuffing up the wallride at Yokohane Downward which brings my time down between 100-400 milliseconds depending on how bad I did it lol. My Wangan East driving line has been a bit off lately, mostly hitting reds. Otherwise enjoyable course. Time was 9'11'4xx for no update. - TA Hakone Outbound: Last run crashed just before CP 2 but amazingly hit a blue for -50 odd milliseconds. Was laughing so hard after this that I crashed 2 or 3 more times more after but ran the course through and hit a 2'28'8xx for no update. - Going for Carbon Metre. Third story in, 1km to go, in Wangan tunnel, an R2 appears out of no where which I crash into. I go to turn my car around to retire, but end up turning it 90 degrees into the Rival car which completely blocked it so I thought I try to finish the race. The rival car gets insane boost and pulls ahead of me. I realise this with 500m to go so I turn my car around to retire. This time, I end up turning my car right into a truck which kept pushing me forward thus I couldn't trigger the retire screen and I lose. Was the craziest thing I've ever witnessed in story mode so far and sucks for me

QUOTE (MiLKYredriot @ Nov 1 2017, 04:43 AM) | Imo 2'59 implies you might not have gotten the logic behind some of the S-turns yet, especially the sets near the barriers.
When I started MT1 iirc I was clocking 2'56/55 for OB in Supra with just past racing game logic, I had no balls for the divider turns which cost me a tournament back then.
For something more reachable, try aiming 2'57 with only conservative gas-off at those parts (no brakes), get the line down for the rest of the map first, then start aiming slightly lower as them guts grow and you can do those sections faster. (I would have said '56, but gotta give more leeway for the physics changes over the years. I also don't TA C1 right now.)
Playing twice a week without video reference or friends, just spectate skilled players, probably 6 months? At least that's what I think if I used myself as a reference.
R32 was always good regardless of version. Japanese GT-R pride, they won't make it suck. |
Thanks for the tips man. First time back in about a week or so, and I managed to run a 2'57"914 on C1 inward first try, then sucked after that. Also managed to take 2 more crowns, now totaling 5. Took me 3 tries to snag both Nagoya and Yokohane Line. I think the switch from first person to third person felt like an instant change in driving confidence/competence so that must've helped quite a bit. Other than that, I'm finally getting my friends to seriously play. Hoping to get a Michigan group thing going in connection with our IRL car hangout sessions. .

My personal recommendation is 660hp for ghost and battle mode over 640. My reason is cos if you ever do stuff up, you have that extra hp to get you going again. You will not be able to run ideal lines as traffic/other players will be in your way, or if you are not experienced enough, therefore you can't maximise running maximum corner speeds. Boost is on, so +-2 handling bars doesn't really matter. Except 600 hp may be too slow though Anyways, it's more about the how the car handles. Eg, I'd chose 640 for a car that slides more, and 660 for a car that has VG handling, etc. This post has been edited by 3K9 on Nov 6 2017, 09:55 PM
