QUOTE (+-!mma_N00B-+ @ Yesterday, 7:47 PM) | Ayyy good to have you back fam. Welcome back to the game.
110S though... I love that car in real life but in the game I hate it with a passion lmao. |
It's good to be back lol.
And y u hate car tho
I just wanted something besides a Nissan. My last two main cars have been skylines and I wanted something new (R34 and C10 respectively) so I chose this thing because it attracted me (and apparently one of the "ghost" kings at my arcade drives one and it looked cool so ye)

QUOTE (brian_infinispirit @ Oct 2 2017, 06:19 AM) | This past weekend at TZ G4...
--Countach at SG 42 --2-2-3-2 VS battles record with M1
--Piloted Kyle's NA1 NSX on Metro Kanagawa 9'10"900 -> 9'10"544 -> 9'10"190
Was on course for 9'09"7 on last attempt but had a wall-tap in CP3. D: Theory after those 3 attempts was 9'09"599. Consolation was new PBs for CPs 2-4.
Hopefully, I can get at least 9'10"2 with FD next session, bearing in mind FD gives up roughly 0.2 on all straights combined vs NA1. |
A couple of questions about Metro HW Kanagawa. My current time is 9'13'303 just for the record with my main car FD.
1. When going through Yoko Down, on the yellow turn at around the 43.7 km mark, do you attempt a wall ride or do you take the turn naturally? Which is faster these days since I heard wall rides got nerfed in DX+?
2. When exiting Wangan East, going up the ramp (just after toll booths) which leads to Yoko Up, at around the 5 km mark, the first yellow turn at the top of the ramp. Do you think this can be done as a wall tap, similar to the adjacent ramp which is taken as a wall tap on the NBL CW and Metro HW Tokyo courses? Have you tested this or is braking the fastest way to take this turn?
Cheers

Sorry for late reply, anyway...
1. I myself have never tried wall-running that turn. I'm of the mindset that you're better off exiting cleanly (close to 270) and just taking it from there. The challenge with wall-running that turn is the initial tap since misjudging it will result in a slower exit speed.
2. Wall-hitting there is not advisable since you'll be exiting at around 230.. when you should be aiming at least 245 with conventional braking. I've seen a TA vid where someone does it though, but once again... not recommended. You're still better off with good 'ol braking.
============
This past weekend at TZ G4...
--Countach at SG 44 & 1st Grade Ace --2'47"943 Yokohane Downward with GC8 --2'47"744 Yokohane Downward with FD --4'29"836 NBL CW with GC8 --12'06"895 Metro Tokyo with R35 --9'10"182 Metro Kanagawa with FD
NBL CW felt great... can push mid-4'29 (new PB if ever) if last turns were done perfectly.
Aiming for 12'05"9 on R35 since I had a couple of minor wall taps in that 12'06"8 run.
The Yoko attempts with GC8 were a pain. I was on track for MR time but lost time in CP4. Then on subsequent failed runs, I was up to -0.12 faster on CP4. Also, 9'10"9 Kanagawa with GC8 is not impossible IMO... was -0.53 ahead heading into those last two turns. Then, the occasional chokejob happened.
Despite those Yoko and Kanagawa screw-ups with GC8, I still trust its handling more than FD... too bad its top-end brute is terrible.

Thanks for the reply. I think I'll keep attempting the wall ride at Yoko Down for now since I TA Mt Taiken Uphill as well and want to work more on my wall riding when possible, but I think I'll stick to braking at that yellow turn off Wangan East as per your recommendation. Speaking of that yellow turn off Wang East again, when taking that yellow turn with braking, is it a full throttle off + brake or a 1.0 throttle off + brake? I've been using Igor's old video as a guide and noticed he 1.0 that yellow turn with lowest exit speed at 247 (8:30 video time.) I always full throttle off that turn and the best I achieve is 235 to date, but I feel too scared to attempt a 1.0 at that speed is crazy. In your opinion do you think full throttle off is fine for this turn or should the aim be a 1.0? Igor's Metro run for reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJFNOTcLKhUAlso, impressive NBL CW you got there, hopefully you get that mid 29 PB sooner or later. It's such a difficult course to TA imo. This post has been edited by areallysexynoob on Oct 18 2017, 06:59 PM

IMO brake + full throttle off should be very quick because the ideal entry point for that corner is tricky. A cue I personally use is that as soon as that yellow corner indicator shows up, I only have less than a second to brake + turn + gas off. Based on my recent runs, I aim to 1.0/1.5 to help exit speed; best I managed was close to 255 with FD. My bad... I'm not good at explaining stuff like this LOL.
There's also another refernce vid I refer to more often.
----
My current PB for NBL CW is 4'29"616 with Countach. If I'm able to pull off roughly the same CP1 time as I did with GC8, I'm on track for at least 4'29"3. NBL CW surely is a hard course to TA since you're using 830 HP on some stretches that normally use 720-760.

QUOTE (WRX22B1998 @ 5 hours, 26 minutes ago) | been thinking about a new project car too but im not really sure what to choose. maybe something from one of the euro brands. |
Z/28 maybe? /random idea even though I don't live in your zone Someone here has been going around tuning oddball cars (at least, the new ones), latest seems to the M6, but no way am I gonna spend a crapton like that dude in a short timespan, taking a Countach FT+FDU+S rank and then edging dead-close to the top Hiroshima model rank... Journal: More CW TA on RGT but no results, trying a few things different but it's not bringing the timing down (hopefully this is just a "not yet" rather than a "never" argument). Watching battles of the toxic crowd, getting envious watching a random Wangan TA, yeah sure a mixture of annoyance and bitterness of what I used to be able to do but ehhh I can get over that eventually, just think of other stuff. I know I'm out of prime and I don't have the drive to play. Was an okay sudden meetup with catch-up chat either way, he knows who he is so I guess it's not all bad, hey it stopped me from going over $12. XD
