Hey, I'm just wondering since I've been noticing this a lot lately... How do you guys deal with people who are extremely rough with the cabinets?
I often find myself enjoying some nice ghost battle runs up until some kid (or dumb adult) sits next to me and starts going absolutely ham on the shifters and the wheel. The other day I saw a kid being so rough with the shifter he literally moved the entire cabinet and I could actually feel the impact of him hitting it in my seat next to his. He was also slamming the wheel so hard I think he might have broken the force feedback on it (I checked it afterwards and it wasn't working.) What was even more infuriating was that he was doing this even after the game ended, and he was driving AT!
Not only is this behavior extremely distracting when you're trying to go for a crown on hakone (requires a lot of concentration for those tricky red corners!), it badly damages the machines, sometimes leaving them broken for months at some locations where they don't actively maintain them.
I contemplated reporting it to the staff, but I think this is largely hit-or-miss depending on the location. Some places (like the Golfland in castro valley, for example) take really good care of their machines and generally try to stay on top of that kind of stuff, but others (like the round 1 in concord) couldn't seem to care less and don't even bother cleaning their cabinets for weeks/months.
I have tried to politely ask people when I see them doing it to not be so rough with it, or just telling them "it works better if you're gentle with the shifters, if you're too rough you might break it" but they often just ignore me. The worst ones are the ones with really aggressive parents, who try to pick a fight with you for daring to ask their kid not to break the cabinets.
How do you guys deal with this kind of stuff? Just wondering.

Dealing those slammers/jammers needs a lot of time to lay a trap if they aren't that aware of how they did the damage done to the cabs
at one lucky point to it is that you never let them have the good ones and leave them the damaged and bad cabinets, and let them use those until they ragequit
somehow I was able to troll them to the busted cabs... and even trolled them harder when they fish the GUEST (and yes... I love trolling them further too)
TL;DR version = simply let them use the bad cabs... even those lousy aggresive <Bleep!> of a parent that they can't discipline themselves let alone their kids too
and you need to get a lot of friendly regulars who are usually there and warn them to hog the good ones... slammers should enjoy the damage done to the cabs and taste the karma =P
