This is a hell of a long shot, but Namco's long-running silence about a console port of MT has officially gotten on my nerves, so: feel free to sign if you'd like to support the idea.

The odds of this making any headway are slim to none, but it beats sitting on our hands and letting Namco ignore us... or so I'd like to think.

It worked for Digimon, why not Maximum Tune?

MT as an arcade game generates huge revenues for Namco, with their current online system. They have no reason to come up with a Console version, and even if they did it will not be anywhere near what MT is. Without generating per-play revenue they will have no reason to push story/ghost, and even if that is done, the feel will be totally different, what with the way the game is played with its 6 speed shifter and wheel - and how many people play with that? If they do they'd be on a more serious game like GT.

Idea might seem nice on paper but doubt they will be pushed to do it

basically as above pretty much covers it, think of it this way

you buy the game on ps4/xbox: $60US (that's roughly what it costs right?)

in the arcade, play 60 games to tune your car in story mode, if its $1 a game they've already made the same money back and you haven't even started with ghost or TA or anything.

not to mention they charge the arcades a service fee for the online services and I doubt they'd be able to charge sony or microsoft that same money. so already moneywise it works out way better for them.

I don't think a console version of MT will replicate the general feel of the game. If it was ported, it'd be like a completely different game.

inclined to agree, both sega and namco are making bank off the arcade market if only for the respective games alone

the only thing close to a console port of maxi would be the wangan midnight ps2 game, which is basically an enhanced port of wangan midnight R. not quite the same, unfortunately

my theory is- the least people can wait for in that regard is some sort of emulation of the game via redumping the games for MAME or maybe finding a way past the security dongles for 3/3dx+... if someone were successful in whatever case, the LAN system that the games use in local multiplayer would make it a fun party game, no doubt
