So, I play in SoCal, and the arcade I go to only has Japanese machines. With no cards. I googled some locations that have Japanese machines with cards (if they even have them today, information hasn't been updated since October of 2015), but they're way too far for me to just go and renew my card. I'm wondering if I can use a discarded/present card as a substitute for card renewals. SOS.

Is there any significant damage to the card if I keep reusing it for renewals? Cabinets are usually empty, so I can play on 1 cabinet for as long as I want. Also I make it a priority to take good care of my cards, so no dirt or damage on my part.

Your next problem is the arcade you will be playing... if you know the crew the better... at least let him/her know that card cleaning option once in a while is important

On the safest side if you see scratches on the back (gray side of the card) the more scratches it has the higher chances that it might screw you over

I believe theres at least 2-3 round 1s in socal with the Japanese version, I'm sure one of them will be willing to let you renew using your own presents / discards, if you know the techs then you will have a better chance.

If all else fails, theres a couple of us on this site with our own cabs that can renew your card for you.
