| since is regarding toyota
I have 1 Question ?
IS toyota aristo taxi version faster and have better handling than the normal aristo
or is it
Posted by: wangan_sti Nov 8 2007, 06:09 AM
Nope, its just the same as any other aristo. Its just special only for its looks
Now about that supra, i think its a power house, waiting to bring down the skyline and the 350z . although not so gud in hakone for its size
Posted by: battousaiii Nov 8 2007, 06:23 AM
| 3d wing for the 2.5tt supra? or which aerokit etc?
it kills on straights.
Posted by: Bruce Nov 8 2007, 07:18 AM
I use 3D wing, to get more stable on corner(weakness) , of course you can use basic gt-wing so let the supra fully use it's potential, it's up to you.
Aero kit B should be the best choice.
Posted by: xeoreg Nov 8 2007, 07:50 AM
so...how does aero B look like?
Posted by: Bruce Nov 8 2007, 08:30 AM
Looks like the Devil Z kit, big mouth bumper. Most nice Aero kit for Mark III (I prefer to call it mark III)
Posted by: The-chosen-knight Nov 8 2007, 08:40 AM
| Will the Trueno-86 EVER be added to Maximum Tune 4 ???
Posted by: xeoreg Nov 8 2007, 08:43 AM
86s aren't meant to be for wangan.
Posted by: Bruce Nov 8 2007, 08:54 AM
Except Kitami going to add twin turbo on it, or you can play 86 in shotu express in Need For Speed Prostreet! Coming soon!
Posted by: Spike Razzor Nov 8 2007, 06:32 PM
Um... Rolling Guy?
Posted by: ZeroG Nov 8 2007, 06:53 PM
ROFL - reference to Tokyo Extreme racer... lol I loved that game... And unless you can get an AE86 with a 20B rotary (see Option Video) it's not gonna do any good....
Posted by: Spike Razzor Nov 8 2007, 07:20 PM
Do-Luck JZA70/MA70 Type II body kit. Looks ugly if your car isn't black >_>...
Posted by: Bruce Nov 8 2007, 07:23 PM
My car is white, seems fine for me. Do my mark III looks nice if I use pink metalic (aka RGO colour)
Posted by: Spike Razzor Nov 8 2007, 07:28 PM
I was tempted to switch my FC to pink, lol.
Posted by: Bruce Nov 8 2007, 07:32 PM
If someone say pink is gay colour in WMMT I gonna "boom" him with my "bomber"
Posted by: ACE!? Nov 8 2007, 07:34 PM
Have you seen the video of the 20b rotary 86? with a big ass turbo running on wangan in japan.. it was posted on this forum somewhere
Posted by: xeoreg Nov 8 2007, 07:38 PM
| but 86 was never meant to be for wangan racing to begin with...
rotary is an engine swap...
Posted by: Bruce Nov 8 2007, 07:40 PM
I'm sure that NAMCO won't add rotary in 86
Posted by: wangan_sti Nov 8 2007, 09:04 PM
86, may be . how about the 2000GT classic like the devil Z. Will it be added
Posted by: HCO Nov 8 2007, 09:08 PM
Guys, the S30Z wasn't really made for highway running either. That said, I don't want to see the 86 in WMMT, ever. Anyway, what I wanted to ask.. Is the JZA80 a good car? I'm not just talking about top speed (apparently that's what it's best at) but I'm interested in the car as a whole. I have one from MT2 that has 4.5k kms on it, and was curious. Thanks.
Posted by: holycrapper Nov 8 2007, 10:29 PM
Is the toyota corolla good in handling as it was mentioned in wikipedia? coz i want like having one. and is hiace really that good? i have a hard time choosing between the 2 of them. how should i enter the codes so that it will work in wmmt3? i really wanyt one of them. thanks.
Posted by: Silver_Z Nov 9 2007, 12:29 AM
| that monster AE86 with 20B rotary... ah! the hell!
anyway, there's a VTEC swapped AE86 on the other hand... but at 250hp, its no Wanganian... But the idea of speed freaks installing good motors to this car's old but lightweight chassis sure is something...
Check out YouTube for this: TRD N2 LEVIN...
Its got a 4AGE motor derived from the AW11... the engine bastard revs to 10,000RPM and produces 220HP!!! Tuning parts by TRD... That's quite rare, and quite different from the common Shigeno Version 20V 4AGE of Initial D's AE86... this engine's got the 16 Valve Head only!!!! Whoa!!! ... oh well, Shigeno's version is much more rare since its the Group-A type motor... though making it rev at 11000 rpm compared to a 16V head that can rev to 10,000 rpm.... don't you think the 20V head should be more reliable...
Posted by: iamstorm Nov 9 2007, 12:34 AM
| How about the MR2? Is the MR2 better in MT3 than it was in MT2? I mean battle-wise.
Posted by: Sailor Enlil Nov 9 2007, 01:15 AM
I have the Corolla. I didn't really notice any significant handling differences from other cars, but it does drive well - one of my cars where I finished all 80 chapters of Story Mode unshaded (the other being my Toyota MR2). It's not quite as fast as the Supra (I challenged my own Supra's ghost in the Wangan, and lost utterly ), and it barely edges the Impreza and the Skyline in C1.
To choose the Corolla, set your shifter to Neutral, highlight the Toyota Supra MK3 (JZA70) in the car selection menu, then enter 4-1-2-6.
The Hiace's main feature is that it's a HEAVY vehicle, so you can push everyone else around.
Posted by: Bruce Nov 9 2007, 02:26 AM
Even I haven drive the new model, but I know that the both III and IV have the same problem, energetic straight, lazy corner.
Posted by: Midnight Star Nov 9 2007, 03:53 AM
Yeah the JZA80 is a good car. I'm really happy with it. Once you get used to the understeer on some of the red corners and learn to get around it, it's a really good car in the metro areas. I do well with it on hakone too, even though it's not recommended. I think i've only ever lost to an MR2 on hakone.
Posted by: Bruce Nov 9 2007, 04:48 AM
| MY Mark III is now incredible fast (my feeling), how fast? Makes me don't want to stop! Attractive like the Devil Z, maybe I should called it the Monster Supra, wait a sec, should be "The Mighty Supra"
Anyone in SP can let me test his/her JZA80, I want to see the differents.
Posted by: xeoreg Nov 9 2007, 06:30 AM
yeah, but it's the main car in the anime LOL
86 is not even in the storyline ><
supra is hard to drive on hakone =='
Posted by: bekk Nov 9 2007, 09:12 AM
| what's the max speed of mark II?
and my mr2 top speed on wangan was 342kmh, is it the limit?
Posted by: hanzel2m Nov 9 2007, 11:54 AM
| I don't know if MR2 is toyota or not
but Since you guys were talking about it, I'll just ask here lol
people said that the mr2 is the master of Hakone.
Why is that?
Posted by: HCO Nov 9 2007, 12:39 PM
Thanks for the help, guys. Guess I'll hold off on transferring my Supra over for now.
Posted by: xeoreg Nov 9 2007, 12:58 PM
because the MR2 is nice and small, yet grips enough in hakone....making it possible to run the best lines.
however, if you are trying to learn hakone, i do not recommend that you use this car, because it's difficult to learn with this car. It's characteristics are slightly different than most cars because the engine is in the back.
However, when you have mastered hakone, you will understand and realize the potential of this little car. ^o^
Posted by: blanc_erik Nov 9 2007, 04:25 PM
is it really difficult?
coz i just started to play mt3 seriously with this car
Posted by: Bruce Nov 9 2007, 09:15 PM
is MARK III, it's max speed is 346km/h, 347km/h for Mark IV
Posted by: akagifc Nov 11 2007, 12:21 PM
Toyota is always talk about the supra .. but my personal fav since ver.1 was always the Chaser . .VIP sexyness. Plus its not a bad car, and pretty decent actually
Posted by: bekk Nov 11 2007, 04:06 PM
thx, i'll ask for a mark III discard from my friends the
and the MR2 top speed? anyone knows?
Posted by: holycrapper Nov 12 2007, 07:16 PM
which is a better blocker? hiace or celsior? thanks.
Posted by: lildude Nov 12 2007, 07:23 PM
345km an hr
Posted by: Spike Razzor Nov 12 2007, 07:38 PM
How comes everyone looks at the HiAce and believes that since its big it must be a good blocking... Well the thing is the HiAce can't block for shit, it never could since it has no weight.
Posted by: xeoreg Nov 12 2007, 07:54 PM
haven't you raced X.Y.U?
Posted by: Spike Razzor Nov 12 2007, 10:53 PM
I've raced him, watched him race Tray and Star.
I think it was either Ebi or AC that was discrediting the rumors of the HiAce being a good blocking/ramming vehicle back before MT3 came out, and from what I've witnessed first hand the car still can't ram of block since my FC shoved it like nothing was there >_> (lol, it jumped!)...
Posted by: xeoreg Nov 13 2007, 01:04 AM
| Hiace isn't good for ramming
but it's a pretty decent blocker.
provided that you can get ahead of your opponents, of course.
Posted by: davido Nov 13 2007, 01:39 AM
Supra is in which tier?
Posted by: xeoreg Nov 13 2007, 01:47 AM
| which supra?
Assuming theres 3 tiers (Top, middle, lower)
JZA80 would be middle, whereas JZA70 would be lower.
Posted by: XLiDoKrAzEeX Nov 13 2007, 02:45 AM
| anyone know the last color for the JZA80? i finally got gold today but didnt use it, and i have one more color to go before im complete..
and if anyone can provide... what would be a good set-up for the car? ive driven this car for so long ive pretty much stuck it out with what i have down there in my signature..
Posted by: Bruce Nov 13 2007, 04:48 AM
Try JZA80 in official machine, fast 2 seconds in Tokyo highway. Accelaration is not bad, just the corner......
Posted by: bekk Nov 13 2007, 04:31 PM
so MR2 in which tier?
and any setup for this car?
i'm really in love with it
Posted by: lainshi Nov 13 2007, 04:55 PM
| How would you guys rate a Toyota Corolla and what would be a good possible set up. I was thinking of making it look like one of the traffic cars in WMMT 3.
Well, as close as possible, I mean
Posted by: old_skool_SR Nov 13 2007, 05:56 PM
ask sailor enlil. he drives a corolla. from what ive heard its a good car, pretty balanced. still waiting for a discard.
Posted by: Inso Nov 13 2007, 06:52 PM
i have a corolla.. in my opinion:
when u first start to enter the turn everything seems nice and smooth... but right after u hit the apex of the turn, the car sumhow magically understeers... i drive it the same way as i did with my r34 and gdb-f, those cars never gave me a problem...
Posted by: Bruce Nov 16 2007, 07:13 AM
race with a full tune JZA80, compare to my JZA70, straight line is unbeatable, but corner seems more worst(not sure is the car or driver's problem.) Can't win in wangan line(boost off)
Posted by: hanzel2m Nov 16 2007, 01:37 PM
| I want to ask a Question, Is the Supra really good?
What are it's pros and cons?
If I were to choose Evo9/R32/Supra, Which one is the best?
In terms of speed please, I don't care about the handling
Posted by: CHAN Nov 17 2007, 03:12 AM
| NISSAN PWNS TOYOTA !!!
Posted by: Sailor Enlil Nov 17 2007, 07:15 AM
In my experience the Supra is great for straightline speed (best on Wangan - I even played against the Ghost of my Supra on Wangan using other cars, and lost ), but is kind of "slippery" when cornering. It's a real challenge on Hakone.
Posted by: Bruce Nov 17 2007, 08:36 AM
I'll talk about JZA80 since I don't think you will have a interest on Mark III, JZA80 was very fast in straight(My car can't beat it in wangan boost off), If you check the IR, Supra owns most of the ranking in wangan line, second fastest straight car after Gemballa in japan IR, but cornering, honestly, you need more practice on that, except you going to challenge ppl wangan line all the time, you may make your supra fully tune on straight line.
Posted by: bekk Nov 17 2007, 08:57 AM
evo and r32 are famous because of their versatility.
Posted by: tsumetai4 Nov 17 2007, 01:39 PM
| I'm sorry to say, but the Z33 beats all of them in terms of speed.
It's good in straights, doesn't lose too much speed in turns and has a decent acceleration.
Posted by: Bruce Nov 17 2007, 05:44 PM
he was choosing from E9,R32 and Supra, don't need don't bring him to another side.
Posted by: hanzel2m Nov 17 2007, 06:40 PM
| yes I already own a Z33
So Actually I already have something that will take the Wangan crown lol
so Should i take the Supra then out of all 3?
thanks a lot
Posted by: Bruce Nov 18 2007, 03:40 AM
JZA80 and Z33 is both the king of wangan.
Posted by: xeoreg Nov 19 2007, 08:51 PM
| Bruce, you're a JZA70 driver...
Do you have any pics of the JZA70 with different aero kits?
I'm currently using stock on mine...but i don't like it.
Posted by: X.KUN Nov 19 2007, 10:49 PM
| bruce got right,i use supra before....in straightways, supra is gud in top speed..in cornering oso stable eventhough aerokit is stock..bruce,see my IR...i will beat team otaiz soon..
i saw u played in sunway yesterday.do u remember me?i use purple fc before..we had battle before...i know u oso like c1..but,unfornately,ur line is not there..i can teach u,if u want..3'01'xxx in c1 still bad..catch my best personal record c1outward 2'57'xxx n c1 inward 2'56'xxx..but i will break it again after i break wanganline record...X.KUN
Posted by: Bruce Nov 20 2007, 05:32 AM
yes I remember, yes, it would be nice if someone can teach me more faster in C1(maybe because is the only way to win JZA80, lol), i hope you know my car's characteristic.
Posted by: Spike Razzor Nov 21 2007, 06:38 AM
| Just FTed my Celsior that I built from a discard, got aero set C as well which looks like win! It also makes it handle a hell of a lot better than it did with aero set A and B which where still drifty.
The car itself is really fun to drive, but like most 4 gears, its not wall friendly as 3rd gear pretty fails completely if the RPM drops too much.
Posted by: X.KUN Nov 22 2007, 09:11 AM
| @dear BRUCE
please watch video on youtube...it will help u...plus,ur supra still got the best time if u know c1...this friday i will go to sunway...i'll show u...
Posted by: Bruce Nov 22 2007, 09:21 AM
wat time you be there?
Posted by: battousaiii Nov 23 2007, 11:06 AM
| mr2 would be close to top but not top as it's not awd.
it chops on hakone.
Posted by: scream Nov 24 2007, 12:14 AM
| mr2 as my first car
i had tons of handling problems
got around that
i say it has very good acceleration in beginning even though it has 5 gears
Posted by: bekk Nov 25 2007, 07:04 AM
| nah, IMHO MR2 handles better than RX-7.
I've use it as my main car for several weeks, and it never disappoint me, not like RX-7
Posted by: DDRFAN Nov 27 2007, 06:15 PM
The Rx7 (FD) Doesn't not turn for crap if you ask me. I was osakaing with my friend's FD for story mode. HOLY SHIT IT sucked at 760 too o__O.
Posted by: NoobC Nov 27 2007, 10:34 PM
"Doesn't not" i had to read it a couple of times to realise you meant FD turns for crap first time heard FD turns crap..
Before this goes any further with mazda.. MR2 should have good turning abilities since its a.. eerrr.. MR car?
Posted by: PrinceAYA Nov 28 2007, 12:06 AM
anyone can recommend me the proper setting for MR2???
Posted by: FClover Nov 28 2007, 12:18 AM
Well the FD has good if not great handling...
U might be doing it wrong...but really...
You can't really compare an FR with an MR drive now can you?: \
Posted by: bekk Nov 28 2007, 07:52 AM
| i dunno, maybe my setting on my FD is bad or what, but really, MR2 is easier to handle than FD.
maybe because the center of the weight is in the middle?
dunno, my physics score sucks.
anyway, FD is too drifty and light for me.
body kits C+aero mirror+stock wing
others are your choices..
Posted by: xeoreg Nov 28 2007, 09:46 AM
fd is indeed light.
NEVER go for aero C for MR2...
Aero C is by far the WORST kit to have on an MR2.
MR2 is supposed to be small and nimble, which makes it nice and fast as you can take ideal lines easier, esp on hakone.
The TRD widebody kit makes the car wider, and it's much harder to run the same lines as you can with other aero kits for the MR2 as you'll end up tapping the wall.
Stock kit is supposedly the best for MR2, but from my experience, B kit is good too.
Also, NEVER get a GT wing on an MR2, your acceleration will just die.
Posted by: Sailor Enlil Nov 28 2007, 04:55 PM
Eh? This is bad? My MR2 with Aero Set C:
I've had excellent results with that setup so far (as in no losses, not to mention unshaded).
Posted by: tsumetai4 Nov 28 2007, 05:51 PM
AGH, I need help on the Taxi Aristo. I haven't gotten far on it but I have the first body kit [gold trim] and I don't see how that helps lol. Soooo whats a good kit for it?
Posted by: pshcyo Nov 28 2007, 07:16 PM
Is the jza80 better than the z33? and in what ways?
Posted by: tsumetai4 Nov 28 2007, 07:29 PM
I'm guessing that it handles through turns slightly better, not much though. I just know that the Z33 is pretty much first choice for Wangan East, since the international version of MT3 doesn't have Gemballas.
Posted by: NoobC Nov 28 2007, 08:29 PM
JZA80 > Z33 in wangan line !! fastest on straights !!
Posted by: tsumetai4 Nov 28 2007, 09:11 PM
| I really think that the Z33 is faster...By the races I've seen and the records...
Posted by: xeoreg Nov 29 2007, 01:30 AM
story mode proves nothing.
TA is everything.
what TA times do you run with your MR2?
Posted by: bekk Nov 29 2007, 05:03 AM
| Hanshin 3'55""xxx
I'm slow, and never do TA else from hanshin.
this is when a friend borrowed my MR2.
Hakone IB 2'32"xxx
Body kit B is good?
why is so?
hmm, i'll try ur opinion anyway.
Posted by: Sailor Enlil Nov 29 2007, 06:21 AM
Enough to get offered the title "Highway Attacker" almost every time on Tokyo Metropolitan.
Posted by: xeoreg Nov 29 2007, 07:59 AM
| metro is usually extra credit anyways, not everybody is willing to spend it to ta for 59km. top time could be 14 minutes and if you break that, you'll still get the title Highway Attacker.
Anyways it's really up to you, you can completely ignore my suggestions. I'm just sharing that because Aero C is a widebody kit, it's much easier to hit walls with....with other aero kits you can take a better ideal line and still not crash.....this is especially useful if you're planning to do Hakone TA's...which is the main reason why everybody gets an MR2 in the first place.
Posted by: Spike Razzor Nov 29 2007, 08:59 AM
Um, Xeo did it ever occur to you that people make cars in WM because they want to? Not everyone is dead set on TA's, which the average player doesn't bother uploading to the internet ranking BTW >_>...
Posted by: xeoreg Nov 29 2007, 09:09 AM
| If I'm dead set on TA's, then I all I would use is an R32, an R34, an E8 and an MR2.
But, as you can see, I use other cars too ~
I barely even touch those top tier cars.
Posted by: hanzel2m Nov 30 2007, 12:53 AM
| Do you think they should put Toyota Celica in the game??
I think that car looks good lol xD
Posted by: pshcyo Nov 30 2007, 05:42 AM
i need to know a good setup for a JZA80 that improves overall performance. any suggestions?
Posted by: outlaw-2 Nov 30 2007, 06:03 AM
| Well, decided to review my Chaser Tourer V after a long hiatus from MT3. Hope this helps to anyone who wants to try out the JZX100
Speed: Currently with 800HP, I was quite amused that if you drive as it is, it'll hit at least 340kmh in Wangan, and around 315 to 320kmh in Hanshin, Yokohane (Tested at 780HP at these two areas). As for Hakone, I don't want to mention that, I'm still rubbish at that track, C1 as well.
Acceleration/Gearing: I'll admit one thing, the Chaser is like a 4-gear car with an extra fifth gear to push your speed slightly. You'll hit 300-310kmh at the end of 4th gear. Funny thing is, the first three gars are, well... slow. Only the last two gears help with the acceleration. Which was why I tend to lag in battles at the starting point before I can catch up.
Handling: Better turn early when you have 800HP. And when I mean early, I mean early, early. At most, you'll probably be screaming to the outside barriers if you're not careful. And also, keep using the out-in-out fashion when it comes to cornering. Other else, it's... hopeless. Sliding wise, keep to the top two gears if you want traction, that is unless your speed drops so low till you need 3rd gear.
Weaving through traffic: Shockingly, it's quite a good car when it comes to weaving traffic. With that big rear, it's better when it comes to blocking. Hitting the traffic only causes the traffic themselves to move somewhere else like toys, especially the Subaru R2. It really makes you feel you're playing Burnout: Revenge instead. Quite a car banger this Chaser. Toyota should just call it the 'Toyota Rammer Tourer V'
I give it an 9 of 10 if you want a battling car
But when it comes to pure speed... urgh... a mere 6/10. Late acceleration killed the Chaser's chance to shine, and the cornering...
NOTE: This is my opinion on the Chaser. Of course, if you ask about Hakone, forget it. I suck terribly at that map...
Posted by: xeoreg Nov 30 2007, 01:01 PM
chaser is pretty good on hakone.
Posted by: Bruce Nov 30 2007, 06:06 PM
Supra is very hard in hakone 760hp in hakone is going to kill the supra.
Posted by: tsumetai4 Nov 30 2007, 07:52 PM
again~ anyone with the taxi aristo? is it any good?
Posted by: Sailor Enlil Dec 1 2007, 04:19 AM
That's why I race my Supra RZ there at 720HP (along with all my other cars).
Posted by: Spike Razzor Dec 1 2007, 06:33 AM
I feel you, the Supra just feels too damn heavy and unresponsive to compete there.
Posted by: bekk Dec 2 2007, 02:47 PM
yeah, i tried your suggest yesterday.
my lines becomes more 'cleaner'
mysettings now :
Body kits A, carbon stock hood, aero mirror, stock wing.
Posted by: Aoshi Dec 11 2007, 12:01 AM
| Does anyone drive their Corolla on a regular basis? And if so, what seems to be working for them so far?
Currently, my setup is:
-Carbon Fiber Hood
Right now, I'm alternating between my GC8 and the Corolla as far as seeing the difference in behavor; i.e taking the same line/technique. I'm basically trying to find a balanced drift setup so I'm not all over the place. Any opinions?
Posted by: ZeroG Dec 11 2007, 02:43 AM
Whats everyone using for the MR2 nowdays???
Posted by: Dare Dec 11 2007, 03:42 AM
JZA80 is King of Wangan. XD
Bruce, I've hit 348 on my JZA80 before, then again it was a slight downhill, so I'm not too sure on that.
The red corners are tough tho. You really need to time it well.
Posted by: Bruce Dec 11 2007, 07:32 AM
u need to becareful on the exit speed, don't let your Supra Burst out the corner or you will hit the wall.
Posted by: Dare Dec 11 2007, 08:13 AM
yeah. always a bit careful about that. supra isnt the... best... car I guess...
but I love the Supra.
so i run it. i wont run anything else.
Posted by: Lazy_Drifter08 Dec 11 2007, 02:28 PM
| what does everyone think about the Toyota Aristo
because i was thinking about getting one with the taxi look

Haven't heard much. Its has a 4-speed tranny and seems to be pretty good at shoving people around.
Posted by: Lazy_Drifter08 Dec 11 2007, 03:40 PM
| Well i heard its like the celsior but less sliding
so i guess i might have to get one to toy around with

I didn't play the Corolla today but it handles pretty well for a "hidden" car. Stock wise, its more of a paperweight than anything.
Posted by: ZeroG Dec 12 2007, 02:08 AM
So what kinda set-ups are you's using for the MR2???
Posted by: Spike Razzor Dec 12 2007, 04:17 AM
Its the opposite of the Celsior performance wise since its startup is sluggish, it grips, handles quite well for its size and weight and it can hold its speed better than the Celsior. Its great in battle since it grips the road well and can easily shove and ram just about everything out of the way like its cousin the Celsior.

Wads a good setup for JZA80 to improve its accel, startup, pickup etc. Anyway since this is a toyta thread, if they put the new mr2, the ZW20, i think, in wmmt, that will be cool. Coz Ive seen some riced up versions of that car and i think it looks great with a modified rear.
Posted by: Dare Dec 12 2007, 08:46 AM
but i love my stock kit, no spoiler...
carbon ducted hood... Rays TE37 rims
wanna try the kits again tho. maybe aero spoiler
but... well, i think its up to the player.. which one they like. i use this setup coz i love the stock supra look. lol

finding someone who can tame my JZA70
Posted by: Spike Razzor Dec 12 2007, 10:47 AM
| Right now mine has aero set A, T7 wheels, 3D Wing and hood with duct. Sadly I made the stupid mistake of driving on the left side while facing Sonoda, so he shoved me into a truck and shaded my A80 ='(... Soon after I randomly started crashing near the end and losing against the CPU... I guess my confidence was shot v_v...
Well anyways, I'm gonna do more dress up tuning before I 820 it and start battling. I'm gonna switch back to the stock hood when I get the carbon hood with duct option, but other than that it will look the same way it does now when its completed.
P.S. my cars suppose to look like the RIDOX Supra that appears in TXR:3/SB:01, not the one Orido actually drifts with, since that one has a different wing and T5 wheels.
Posted by: Lazy_Drifter08 Dec 12 2007, 01:00 PM
| i can bruce
i was all a jza70 driver on wmmt2 til like last christmas, and then i used an r32 when the card was either lost or stolen, can remember what happened to it, but i miss it.
Posted by: bekk Dec 12 2007, 03:27 PM
give me a discard and i'll tame it
naah, i won't try at all.
it's too damn heavy and long for me.

can u handle the incredible speed when exit the corner?
Posted by: dk-2 Dec 12 2007, 08:04 PM
Whoa so it grips a bit? O_O Cool... I'll get along with this car then. Hehe I love how it feels on Hakone. What's it's chasis code anyway?
Posted by: cupui Dec 12 2007, 08:12 PM
| I have JZA80
I want make my Supra good at cornering.
Good in handling I mean.
Even If it'll reduce the speed it doesn't matter.
Anyone can tell me which dress up I should choose?
Posted by: Dare Dec 13 2007, 12:40 AM
some people say Dress up goes C - B - A - Stock
Highest to lowest handling
how true... i dont know.
but i do know the JZA80 is hard to handle anyway
gotta learn it
Posted by: Spike Razzor Dec 13 2007, 03:51 AM
If you want the chassic code, lol, just look in my sig.

| Ugh! Took my Supra RZ for a spin last night (TA on New Beltline Clockwise) and found it REALLY SLIPPERY for some reason (like driving on ice)
Current setup is
Aero Set C
Rays Volk Racing TE37
Carbon Bonnet with Duct
Dual Color Flame Sticker
Any suggestions to make it gripper?
Posted by: pshcyo Dec 13 2007, 08:12 AM
Try changing the hood. I think
Posted by: Aoshi Dec 13 2007, 09:36 AM
Or the rims maybe. I heard those are "beginner" rims, basically great for when you're underpowered but inadequate when you get closer to full tune. But then again, it could be the way you're taking the turns.
Posted by: Lazy_Drifter08 Dec 13 2007, 05:11 PM
| ok changed my mind, i dont want the aristo, apparently more people would want the hiace over it, and im guess i would too
so any ideas what to name it, cause i been trying to figure out, and was gonna put the team name on it, but figure it would be my toying around car, so a different name would be better
Posted by: DDRFAN Dec 13 2007, 05:15 PM
Something like CantC as in Can't See, or BLOCK, because it's basically a mobile block xP? What about HiAss (please consider that the word Ass might be in the word filter.)
Posted by: cupui Dec 13 2007, 07:11 PM
Is that means If I choose the lowest handling so I'll get the speed?
In your opinion, which dress up is the best for JZA80?
I'd like to know which rims I should use for supra so it won't be sllipery?
But beleive me JZA80 is easier to handle than Z33.
Z33 really stress me out because it's really slippery as hell.
I like my JZA80 better than my Z33.

Posted by: Dare Dec 13 2007, 08:49 PM
technically thats how it works.
if its true or not, well you have to test that out yourself.
you may find you run better in between, or at one end.
Turn the wheel to the right when selecting HP.
errr. weird, thats the grippiest setup according to the current belief...
The TE37? not really

| Will neon affect the car performance?
I heard it will make your car heavier?
What's heavier mean?
Does Your car became slower ?
Or the top speed reduced?
Or became easier to do ramming?

.....neon's? Who told you that?
Posted by: cupui Dec 14 2007, 12:02 AM

if it's true or not.
That's why I asked about it....
After read your post...
Is That mean...in your opinion neon doesn't affect the performance?

For god's sake it doesn't effect anything except a fishy light under your car.

I love my Corolla. I love its unique handling(grippy). Sadly I got it shaded. Its okay I will still get the Maxi Tune 1&2 soundtrack... Won't I? Anyways back on topic. Very fast. I came close to beating a 780 R33 at Hanshin with it being only 600. And one thing it makes me unique. I might be the only Corolla in SoCal!!
Posted by: Sailor Enlil Dec 20 2007, 09:11 AM
After some testing (TA) on my Supra RZ, I figured the culprit, or at least part of it, regarding its lousy performance, was due to the 3D Wing. After changing to the Stock Wing, the car ran much better.

Hmmm, I think its either your Aero Set or your just trying to make it do something it can't. Mine has Aero Set A with the GT wing, handles fine to me =|. Could be that the A70 has trained me, I dunno =P.

The Supra is great if you want flat out speed, hence it's a champ in Wangan & Yokonane. Problem is it sacrifices handling, so it's a challenge in C1, and almost suicide in Hakone.
You're not the only Corolla user at least anywhere in the world
Here's mine: (lucky to finish it unshaded too)

Posted by: shadowsuke Jan 16 2008, 05:39 AM
moderate accel; shit top speed; handling is super good ONLY if you know how to use, or else it'll be sliding like a B*tch if used wrongly; small; light, which also means it's easier to get pushed around
in my opinion, you will take quite some time to adapt if you're used to awd cars.
but trust me, this car trains you to be precise and quick, because that's the only way the car can be gay fast
even then, TA wise, other than hakone, it can't really put up a strong fight against the top cars
Posted by: xeoreg Jan 16 2008, 06:54 AM
| the MR2 grips very well....in hakone you actually WANT the MR2 to slide
but yes, the handling is completely different from other cars. Takes alot of time getting used to...
Posted by: shadowsuke Jan 16 2008, 08:06 AM
grips very well?
i find it otherwise when i first started.. now the car feels like second nature so i dunno how to tell.. haha.
Posted by: Sailor Enlil Jan 16 2008, 09:15 AM
| Probably depnds on the Aero Set. I now use Aero Parts C with my MR2. After trying out the different sets, Set C seems to give me the best performance. Then again, it's still not as fast as the other cars, but I did score a lucky win in a VS Match in Yokohane against somenoe who used an Impreza.

Acceleration: Poor - not HiAce slow, but slow.
Handling: Excellent - Grips and feels light, wtf?
Speed: Ok - Hits 346 and gets up to speed alright
Weight: Heavy - Beats out everything except the Celsior, not sure which is heavier or rams better.
Speaking of which has anyone tried ramming a Celsior with an Aristo or vice versa? Theres only 2 guys around where I live that own a Celsior besides me. One is never around and the other is a n00blet. As for the Aristo, and I'm the only person with one that I know of.

Who has experience with this car? I just heard it's heavy enough to not get pushed around too much as well as be a good ramming car. And what's the best shifting scheme given it's a 4-speed?
Posted by: xeoreg Feb 24 2008, 03:36 AM

it is a great battle car because it's so heavy.

Sorry bout the "Noob/Dumb" question but does the JZA80 Supra go by the stereotypical 6-speed shift points or is it different? I've shifted sorta like the GDB from Initial D Ver.3 since I know the first two gears are what makes the car pull rather than top speed. I hope I can safely assume that 5th gear is around say 200km/h, so technically I'm more concerned about 3rd and 4th gear.
Posted by: Dare Mar 7 2008, 06:09 PM
Supra shift points are interesting... i dont know the exact speed or rpm, cause my shift points are now based on engine sounds... i know when i need to shift based on the pitch of the sound, having been driving it for a bit...
it has its own shift points, and i'd say let the revs go on a bit in the lower gears, coz there is a fair bit of pull after the red line, but once you hit 4th gear, that pull is not so obvious, and you're better off shifting earlier
Posted by: Aoshi Mar 7 2008, 07:01 PM
So like for example, 3rd is around 140-160kph or somewhere in that zone, then I do 4th at 200kph, followed by 5th at 250, and 6th at around 280 or so. It seems to accelerate just fine but it seems kinda weird when you look at it.
Posted by: xeoreg Mar 7 2008, 07:29 PM
I shift all 6 gear cars the same way...theres not too much of a difference if you shift 10km above/below...
Posted by: Dare Mar 8 2008, 05:58 AM
you'll know... shift a bit late and you'll see the difference... i raced my own ghost to get the shift points down. who got ahead earlier, etc etc etc
@ xeo, to me there are... if you're down to the small bits, and especially on TA... the shift points could be the ones that make the difference, especially on high speed courses like wangan
then again, in battles, doesnt really matter
Posted by: Aoshi Mar 8 2008, 11:08 PM
I see... well I kinda played around with that today and squeezed a 2'33"5 out on Hakone. Doesn't seem to affect my TA line much, but who knows.... >.>
Posted by: Dare Mar 9 2008, 06:24 AM
shift points arent as apparent there imho, as long as you shift up if its over revving, and down when its under powered, keeping the rev meter in the power band its fine...
y'know, to use speed of the car as a shift point marker is kinda pointless, coz shift points change as hp changes...
Posted by: xeoreg Mar 9 2008, 06:58 AM
In Hakone, you pretty much leave it in 2nd last gear except for red turns where you go down an extra gear. But that's about it...
Posted by: Dare Mar 9 2008, 07:01 AM
pretty much. altho the supra does require a bit more gear work, depending on how you drive...

| To: dragracer0589
Good day! I too own and handle a Celsior and; YES I have indeed good experience of handling a Celsior, not by ramming others but more on:
1. LENGTH - if "nose-to-nose" situation comes, you have an 80-90% chance of leading.
2. WEIGHT - no one can push, & ram your car around... (EXCEPT a HiAce.)
3. MASSIVE CAR BODY - 70-80% chance of your opponent not passing through... (meaning good for blocking, but it doesn't mean you can't squeeze between "walls and traffic cars"... you CAN)
Last but not least my Favourite.....
4. CAR ITSELF - opponents underestimate Celsior due to its oldie, luxury-ish, hard-to-handle, & slow in acceleration. Since it's being underestimated, opponents don't have the fear nor cautiousness of losing to a Celsior WHICH they must not take for granted... (PLUS this car WILL give you, not speed but "POWER" on the road, its just a matter of having it under your control.)
Posted by: N643 Mar 21 2008, 04:49 PM
not true, the Celsior has massive but when neck 2 neck it depends on what car the other guy is using cuz if it was a r34 then the out come will be different
Posted by: chukatsung Mar 21 2008, 07:27 PM
hmm, i drive a Hiace myself and trust me
Hiace isnt that "hard" and it can be easily pushed by Evos, Skylines, Supras and Zs
And with a Celsior, it is like one of the hardest car to get push
Posted by: dragracer0589 Mar 22 2008, 02:56 AM
| @ N643
"not true, the Celsior has massive but when neck 2 neck it depends on what car the other guy is using cuz if it was a r34 then the out come will be different "
well withall due respect, i own a R-34.... my primary car
although it's fully tuned and fully dressed up,
i can't try to pvp w/ my celsior because no one will pilot the other car since i use one car at a tym only....
but if i will try to battle my ghost , i think there's a chance to win using a celsior, depending on course (i preffered yokohane and other straight courses since Celsior has good "POWER" just what like mishiro said.)
You mean that Celsior is more heavier than a HiAce???
Maybe the dressup affects the stability of ur Van.... cause i doubt because HiAce is the most heaviest car in WMMT, Celsior is just 2nd from HiAce
Also, driving style GREATLY affects the chance of winning in a Game.
I think you should consider it more as a VAN than a Car
(What i mean is you should give more allowance on cornering, racing lines and blocking as well)
hope i don't offense any1, it's just my opinion... that's all
Posted by: chukatsung Mar 22 2008, 04:44 AM
well, i m not saying that Celsior is heavier than a Hiace,
but Hiace isnt as harder as all you guys think it is.
I have used Hiace since MT2 and back then, it was good, like a moving road block, it rarely get push around
But now with MT3, Hiace aint as harder as it used to be anymore, many of those skylines i have battled can push Vans out of the way with no sweat , and I am sure that a Celsior can push Hiace around (rather than the other way around) because Celsior can battle head on with Skylines and evos (hardness wise)
Of coz in real life, Hiace is heavier than a Celsior, but MT3 is a game, i mean, do u really think Hiace can concer and drift at 200+KMH and no rollover?
Yea, I also noticed the different Aeros and tune ups can effect the Van.
AeroA is the hardest out of all Aeros, but it top speed and acceleration is not as good.
AeroB is for high top speed build, best to pair with no wings to run on wangan line, but it is soft as a "stuffed doll" and get push around pretty easily.
AeroC is good in a way, there's certain point of the Van that can block (talking about the points of the side of the van) and it god a pretty good cornering ability with it, but keep in mind that once that point is past, the van is nothing for the main stream race cars out there (evos, skylines, Zs, supra) [sorry rx7, i just dont think u are harder than a van, IMO]
I drive it coz it got potential, and have been driving it for like, i dont know, since i lost my FC and i like it when ppl goes "Oh, Van VS skyline man, that van is a goner" and at the end, the Van won .
PS: I am using orginial Aero (all balance, not hard, but not slow, i mean, AeroC is the best IMO, but i just cant stand the face-lift they (NAMCO) did to the lovely Van)
Posted by: Mishiro Mar 22 2008, 05:31 AM
| It's okay, opinion of an individual is a right.
You mean to tell me that a HiAce is easily pushed by Evos, Skylines, Supras and Zs??? Perhaps true... But still, HiAce is the most heaviest. It is just out of the car category.
Looking at a different perspective or analysis, everyone know cars like Evos, Skylines, Supras and Zs are running in very high speed (considering their bodyweight for a car is an advantage than that of a HiAce).
So when a HiAce is being pushed, naturally the speed of the HiAce will drop and it'll have diffuculties of retaining its speed due to the van's weight; (sure you can hold/block for a few moments when somebody pushes you, but let's not forget the weight of the van will certainly affect your defense), so opponents will have the chance of overtaking it.
Don't get me wrong. I have no intention of offending you guys, it's just my opinion.
Posted by: chukatsung Mar 22 2008, 05:36 AM
maybe u are right, i never thought of it that way
as in putting the factor of the speed and the grip other cars can get while Hiace's speed...(if there's any)
also, putting the factor that Hiace only have 4 speed and that all the gears are kinda, well, not that great
but i dont know, back then in MT2, Hiace feels like a Moving block, in MT3, it feels like a Paper box (stops at slides, just doesnt feel "heavy" anymore)

| Hey guys can you help me out?
I own an ARISTO (not the taxi ver) as my 4th car (last car but no the least); and I'm confused "IF" I really see it as a fast car, because it CAN catch up really... I mean really fast, is it faster than a Celsior?
Tell me something I don't know about this car.
Posted by: Spike Razzor Mar 24 2008, 05:38 PM
The only thing the two have in common, other than being large 4 doors, is that there both heavy. Nothing can push you.
Posted by: Kenji Mar 24 2008, 05:44 PM
Lulz... How about pitting in the Chaser too?
Posted by: Dare Mar 25 2008, 12:37 AM
Honestly speaking, the dressup that gives the best results is the dressup you're most familiar with...
What other people say doesnt really matter, coz everyone has their own driving style, and with different driving styles, different needs will come out...
Try out different setups, till you find something you like.

so how many unlocks are there in this game? I know I have unlocked a few but is there a limit? or just that each time you race a ghost and win, u get one and another one and another one, with no end?

i assume you're talking about parts... read the FAQ

| yer parts, thats what im talking about. And um.... what FAQ? There are so many on this forum.
O and what happens when you unlock all 46 levels of dress up tuning? how do we mod our cars then if we want to change something?
and how can we find out what level of tuning we are up to?
EDIT: O dun worry I found out everything I asked.
FAQ: Official Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3 FAQ here in this forum.
Tuning: Can mod after lvl 46 when you fill up your mod bar.... again!
Levels of tuning: Shown on your stat page when you place in your card. Under the ghost versus section.

Perhaps that's true. So comparing the two cars, Aristo is much better in handling. Nevertheless Celsior's acceleration is (for me) quite slower than aristo's; maybe the way how I tune my aristo is not that satisfying? How can I make it better?
Posted by: Mishiro Mar 25 2008, 07:23 AM
yo! you too own a Chaser? Well I say its a great car (it looks like a BMW). My only question is, what is the best course that a Chaser can perform its best? And does it look good in dark blue? And I'm having a hard time to choose what set of rims/mugs should I put to my Chaser to look its best. Can you help me out?
Oh BTW, and my Celsior-black too; what is the best set of rims/mugs should I install? I installed 5-spoke rims to it (my Celsior-silver in MT2) and it didn't look good so I do not want to make the same mistake to my present Celsior-black in MT3. (I believe body colour affects what rims should be installed )
Posted by: dragracer0589 Mar 25 2008, 07:37 AM
my celsior is black...
and rims for d moment is white Rays 57F
for me, a black car looks sporty when the rims are white, chrome
For Silver- white colored cars, i think black rims are very sexy
this concept is applied to my skyline R-34 (gray stickers and black JS+M rims)
hope that helps you

@ Mishiro. Please use edit on the top right of your posts instead of doubleposting. Helps avoid clutter and wasting space/ time.
@Death_B2KSJ. Please stay on topic. Unlocking all the dress up parts for a car is a general question and not Toyota related.
Posted by: Kenji Mar 25 2008, 09:20 AM
@Mishiro I owned one, but haven't FT it yet. It's made for battle so any course will do since there's boost and this car is basically unshakable provided that the race doesn't have a Celsior or Aristo.
Posted by: Mishiro Mar 25 2008, 09:41 AM
no no no, my chaser is "dark blue". (please read that message again) That "black" thing goes for my Celsior, not the chaser.
(but if colour black on a Chaser is available, that is so cool!)
My Cars in WMMT3
Mazdaspeed 6 - Silver (I know, its not related to this forum topic)
Toyota Aristo - Dark Green
Toyota Celsior - Black
Toyota Chaser - Dark Blue
I hope that "colour" matter didn't confuse you
Posted by: Kenji Mar 25 2008, 09:48 AM
OK... my bad. I'm damn sleepy right now.
There is black available for the Chaser. It's the last colour unlocked.
Posted by: Spike Razzor Mar 25 2008, 06:10 PM
Heh heh, the Celsior is still fast off the line IMO. Even if I lose the lead in the beginning of the race, I'm only a meter behind =P.
Oh, and Rays GT-M wheels felt pretty good on my Celsior, but the game made them look so ugly that I changed them.
Posted by: yellow_eggplant Mar 25 2008, 10:34 PM
Haha. I get my black color after 40 plays
Posted by: Death_B2KSJ Mar 26 2008, 12:04 AM
wow good luck with that. for me that is like spending 80 bucks.
Posted by: Kenji Mar 26 2008, 12:36 AM
I'm talking about the CHASER not the CELSIOR.
I noticed your Chaser is YELLOW instead of BLACK.
Black colour isn't available at the beginning when you made the car. It's the last colour unlock for the CHASER. One have to go thru 600 plays in order to obtain black for the Chaser.
As for the Celsior, there's no black colour unlock available for it. So, don't BS.

what's the best aero type for a jza80?..
Posted by: Death_B2KSJ Mar 27 2008, 06:21 AM
aero set C for the grip, so it will stick to the road more instead of sliding everywhere and the car has got good enough acceleration to get out of the corner fast enough so that doesnt matter.
Posted by: kaNzaKi_vii Mar 27 2008, 06:29 AM
in what courses does the supra do well?..and in what doesn't?..
Posted by: Dare Mar 27 2008, 06:50 AM
Wangan... Supra one of the top 2 cars there imho...
Yokohane, it does fairly well too...
NBL's gotta be the third choice... then osaka, then c1... then that accursed mountain pass... lol
Posted by: Mishiro Mar 27 2008, 08:03 AM
huh? you mean that there is no colour black for celsior????
I beg your pardon but in max-tune 3 its already available when I purchased it from the very beginning.
Unless you are talking about max-tune 2?
Posted by: Mishiro Mar 27 2008, 08:13 AM
yeeaahh..... yes I do (you noticed)
I like luxury cars (when I was a kid), but when Initial D 3; 4 and Maximum Tune 2 became my hobby I switched to sports cars and then, maximum tune 3 was released I switched back to luxury cars again (just to try them out again).
Max-tune 2 sports, max-tune 3 luxury-sports (ahhhhh you get the "idea").
Posted by: Death_B2KSJ Mar 28 2008, 04:38 AM
lol that is cos wangan is like mainly straight. Yokohane is also fairly straight..... man all you got there is a list of tracks going from straightest to the curviest.
Posted by: Dare Mar 28 2008, 05:11 AM
which is the emphasis of the Supra. =P

Will aero set C reduce supra speed at wangan?
Posted by: pshcyo Mar 28 2008, 08:07 AM
if u base that on the theory that stock>a>b>c, with c being grippiest but slowest and stock being fastest but makes the car slide all over the place, then the answer to ur question is, yes.
Posted by: L32 Twin Turbo Mar 28 2008, 08:28 AM
Will lost too much speed at wangan like 2km/h?
Posted by: Dare Mar 28 2008, 06:35 PM
you wont loose THAT much... but personally, yes, I find C and a 3dgt wing has slowed my wangan times.. i'm .5 of a second off my best times when i run it now.
I ran my top time without an aerokit, and without a wing. Currently, with the kit and wing for the battles though, concentrating on those for the time being, although i might go back to the TA'ing west for while... gotta get my place back!
again. its just me though

answer my question on my setup thiny!!!
Posted by: Death_B2KSJ Mar 29 2008, 05:19 AM
| @pshcyo - well pshcyo, what are you trying to achieve on wangan? I know wangan quite well and I guess you already got a pretty good top speed on it, I recommend an acceleration boost, mayb aero kit A and some yokohama wheels. Like the Yokohama Super Adavanced (Racing Ver.2) at lvl 5. The TE37s you got know is good but only helps to grip to the road more, which is good for the little turns on wangan, but you do want more acceleration, so just switch to aero kit a and if you want wings, get the 3D wings at lvl 17.
LOL that is wrong, through my research and experience... this is how it rolls. no aero = car is the way it is. eg. s30z, car is slow, acceleration is alright and really good handling. aero kit A = better acceleration. aero kit B = better top speed. aero kit C = better handling/grip. so the stock>a>b>c is crap cos it doesnt fit.
If you really want to put it as speed fastest THEN stock=a<b>c. If you get me. same with the rest, for acceleration stock<a>b=c and handling/grip is stock=a=b<c. BUT!!!!
It ALL REALLY DEPENDS ON THE CAR!!!!
@L32 Twin Turbo - yes, aero kit C will decrease your speed at wangan, as it is heavier (somehow?) and will make it heavier, so it stick to the road more. I guess you just want to go faster, so aero kit B is good if you want to increase your top speed or aero kit A for better acceleration.
Posted by: pshcyo Mar 29 2008, 06:12 AM
for wangan. TA and ghost battle for king. and why 3d wings? i tot 3d wings were for grip. but wingless is still the best for wangan right?
Posted by: Dare Mar 29 2008, 07:01 AM
as I was saying earlier. my best TA time came without aero or wings. havent been able to get close to that time after i put on my kits.
I HATE the feelings of aero a and b, so never really TA'ed with them on.

Today I tried aero set C,it is still same when my car is use stock aero, wingless, carbon hood with duct, enkei forged rim and aero mirror, maybe I should try aero set B.And aero set B will increse grip and top speed,am I right?
@Death_B2KSJ-you are correct,I am really want to increse supra top speed because I need to challange top player.
Posted by: yellow_eggplant Mar 29 2008, 05:15 PM
My Chaser is on it's last renewal. After that I get black. My Chaser is Gold, the 9th color unlocked. I do have almost 600 plays as you can see from my mileage.
And the Celsior has black. It's one of the first colors you can choose.
Posted by: Dare Mar 29 2008, 05:55 PM
you cant really see plays from mileage...
not a good way to judge plays.
It all depends on the players, some people do find that theres a difference, some dont.
And if you want to challenge top players with a Supra, you need handling, not top speed. The Supra has plenty of speed already.
Posted by: pshcyo Mar 29 2008, 07:36 PM
dare, could u do me a favour, try TAing with aero a, b and stock and tell me ur results?? on wangan.
Posted by: Death_B2KSJ Mar 29 2008, 11:44 PM
aero set C, does not ALWAYS slow down the car and if it does, just a touch. Unless you got light cars like evo8s. (I heard it slowed his car down.) But it does make the handling better.
On the other hand aero set B, will keep your car smoother on a straight line. Which is good for wangan. This is cos ur top speed is increases abit... (I think). Well you go faster, so your car is kept straight more. But with a supra, I doubt you will notice the difference, as it is already a really fast car. So I recommend aero kit A to increase its acceleration so you can get to the supra's top speed faster. That SHOULD give him a run for his money. Good luck.

wow u got wangan and yokohane line with an mr2. Thats pretty sweet. How you manage to get it fast enough to beat the top ghost for them? Cos wangan and yokohane are mainly maps where the faster car wins?
(I know the mr2 is really agile and can turn really well.)
Posted by: sway Apr 1 2008, 04:42 AM
just a question to xeoreg, what kit u recommend for mr2, or what kit to u run for mr2 thanks
Posted by: Dare Apr 1 2008, 06:12 AM
Crowns arent always based on the faster car... If you can beat them, you win, simple as that.
Doesn't mean you HAVE to have a Supra or Z33 or R33 to conquer those areas.
If the crown was weak, or if the crown holder made mistakes, they can win..
Also, its not necessary for a Wangan crown to actually BE wangan.... I've tried a wangan crown where it just starts off on wangan, then goes into C1 within the first few K's...
its basically a C1 race. lol
Posted by: Death_B2KSJ Apr 1 2008, 06:18 AM
lol sweet. So doesnt tat mean you get two crowns or do you still just get the c1 crown. O and btw, do u only get the crown by beating the top hardest person's ghost on a level. Lik Hardest on 800HP on wangan to get the wangan crown?
Posted by: Dare Apr 1 2008, 09:28 AM
where it goes doesn't matter...
what i meant was:
Its a wangan crown, in that it starts on the wangan ramp. But, it forks into C1.. and ends there....
and you'll only ever get the crown by beating the crown holder. -.-"
Posted by: Death_B2KSJ Apr 1 2008, 05:55 PM
o alright then.... I want to try and beat <>ZON<>. He has most of the crowns at my arcade. I know he is here in this forum. His RX-8 is kinda kick ass but I think I can use my jza80 to beat it is wangan, c1 and yokohane.
Posted by: Kenji Apr 1 2008, 06:04 PM
One tip for you; TA linings aren't always the best to be used during crown battles. You need good cushioning skills to win too...
Imagine the amount of distance you can smoke your opponent if you pulled out from a red turn at 26x km/h instead of the usual speed of 22xkm/h...
Posted by: Death_B2KSJ Apr 1 2008, 06:09 PM

Posted by: battousaiii Apr 2 2008, 11:00 AM

Posted by: Dare Apr 3 2008, 02:55 AM

Posted by: Death_B2KSJ Apr 3 2008, 03:10 AM

Then you ask around, do your research and pick the parts that you need for what you want.

it doesn't work, trial and error is the right way to go.
Posted by: Dare Apr 3 2008, 07:59 AM
Its all down to the user.
Are we sure Aero B gives more acceleration than Aero A? Or Aero A has the highest top speed?
The only way anyone can find out what they like best of all in the car is by trial and error.
Posted by: ICEY Apr 3 2008, 08:28 PM
| can anyone share with me their toyota chaser. maybe possibly some pics and dress up set ups because im just ricing it all out i'd like to see other paint jobs on it
thanks in advance.
umm... okay is the chaser worth tuning? at all? i've always liked how it handles but i dont see ANYONE on the forum that owns one. everyone owns celsiors.
is the celsior better?
Posted by: Death_B2KSJ Apr 4 2008, 01:45 AM
Nope... aero A gives acceleration. I hav tried it all out. aero B gives a better top speed by a small amount but it still has the same acceleration.
Posted by: pimpmyride23 Apr 6 2008, 07:22 AM
Hey, guys can i have some advice with the JZA80? the best specs probably?
Posted by: Dare Apr 6 2008, 07:41 AM
read the discussion so far... lol
Posted by: xeoreg Apr 6 2008, 09:26 AM
I'm currently using Aero B.
Celsior is 4 gear, Chaser is 5 gear, depends what you like really.
Chaser is good on roads with fairly long straights, because of it's power and because it's a pretty long car.
NBLCW is one of the best course it's on.
Also good for battle, since it's so heavy.
I love the Chaser because barely anybody uses it...people see me using it and laugh. Then after they challenge me, they understand why I use it.
Posted by: pimpmyride23 Apr 6 2008, 07:39 PM
What specs will do best at Wangan? I heard that aero b is the best, i just wanna know what wing, rims, hood, mirror will do best at the WANGAN LINE. Thx.
Posted by: Dare Apr 6 2008, 08:24 PM
my personal best was with stock aero... then again i hated aero b and aero a, so never really TAed wangan with those... i guess i should try
Posted by: xeoreg Apr 6 2008, 09:29 PM
You can't go wrong.
Posted by: pimpmyride23 Apr 7 2008, 04:18 AM
So Stock is the fastest for a supra in Wangan Line? Other people said that other specs are the fastest?
Posted by: Dare Apr 7 2008, 04:20 AM
Considering my stock supra runs an average .5 of a second faster than my current setup...
even though that best time i set i didn't do as well as i would've liked on that last turn...
but... as i've said time and time agian... try it for yourself... find something you run well with overall.
Posted by: Death_B2KSJ Apr 7 2008, 05:54 AM
lol sorry I have to disagree with that. This stock supra vsed me on the wangan line. I had 720HP and he had 780HP. I still beat him. But I think cos he decided he would try and lose me on a bend route. Bad idea. My s30z is a heck of a car when it comes to turnin. He crashed out ALOT! But surprisingly he went all the way down to 660HP for Hakone and won. But Wangan with stock on 780HP is good if you choose the straight routes with minimal corners.
Posted by: Dare Apr 7 2008, 05:58 AM
Sigh, its the driver. not the car.... plus, i'm fairly sure thats on boost on.
Posted by: sway Apr 7 2008, 06:01 AM
racing people and TAing is alot different, cause of boost, so like, it could b osaka u race 760 and the other guy races 680, just cause u have recommended TA hp, doesnt mean u can beat him??? if that makes any sense, cause of boost and all? so having a faster car is completly different in battle then TA
Posted by: pimpmyride23 Apr 7 2008, 06:02 AM
So basically, to increase my top speed and maintain it at wangan line, i should go for all stock?
Posted by: Death_B2KSJ Apr 7 2008, 06:02 AM
yer I agree. I overtook him and beat him several times on osaka. Ive got fairly good acceleration with my car. I dunno if boost was on but when we did osaka we were on the same horsepower, 740HP. I still could overtake him and stuff. I think I knew how to line and turn my car more than him. He barely could control his supra. But yer... it was fully stock.
Posted by: Dare Apr 7 2008, 06:05 AM
its the DRIVER, not the car... and the way you're describing.. its boost on...
how can you compare how good a care is, stock or kitted... if you are comparing drivers...
so how can you say that you disagree with the fact that a stock supra is fastest in wangan, based ONLY on this observation?
Have you yourself run a supra on wangan, testing all the possibilities?
yes, thats what i've personally found... you might find something else works for you though.
Posted by: xeoreg Apr 7 2008, 06:06 AM
you can't go wrong with all stock
It really depends how the driver likes the car to be set up. Trial and error, my friend.

ok ok... since I got a full tuned supra, I will take it out onto wangan today. Unfortunately it has been dressed up fully. So I have to play ghost vs. alot to get rid of everything. But once I do undo everything. I will tell you how I am going.
Posted by: Spike Razzor Apr 7 2008, 05:37 PM
... So basically just use the official machine to TA on Wangan Line >_>...
Posted by: xeoreg Apr 7 2008, 05:57 PM
exactly, theres really no point to dress up a JZA80.
Posted by: pimpmyride23 Apr 7 2008, 06:35 PM
Really? but wait i should also go for the stock rims? it said on the other forum that there's a specified rims for a supra.
Posted by: Ramaj Apr 7 2008, 08:46 PM
| Hey guys, I got a chaser too. I transfered in one of my R34's but wanted to start a new car so made a chaser.
It's white. and I have Aero A, Volk TE37 whatevers, and a carbon fiber hood (got this all at 380 hp beating ghosts in the 400+ horsepower range, no counting for driving skill )
Right now it's unshaded and is 1 bar from 600 hp and 2 bars from finishing the basic handling stuff.
I know my setup isn't best, anyone know which wheels are best for it, or which aero or wings and stuff? I really like it on NBL because while I always get left behind a car length or so at the line, I am usually caught up and past very quickly and build my lead from there on out.
Posted by: Dare Apr 7 2008, 09:39 PM
Unless its your main car.
Posted by: XLiDoKrAzEeX Apr 8 2008, 12:39 AM
| i second on the complete stock on supra.. i just set the USA record for Wangan West (note USA only) but im sure there are faster times out there that someone hasnt posted.. but im up there for the time being
i had kit C, Car type wing, vented hood(non carbon), 3-clawed yokohama rims, and purple neons.. on this set-up i was running a 4'06'8xx consistently.. but it was a high '06'xxx, and when i used the official machine i was running consistent 06'5xx
which kinda proves that stock is faster.. since its all light and everything
but today i changed it, took off the body kit and changed to stock, kept the vent hood, GT 3D carbon wing, yokohama Advan RC2 rims, green neon..
and i broke my own record.. and now im running consistent 4'06'3xx which improved a lot.. the car kinda looks a bit ghetto like an unfinished ricermobile. but its fast
so this is kind of like a general idea.. maibe if you went all stock and changed the rims to something else and added the aero mirrors.. then just watch your baby go WOOSH
Posted by: Dare Apr 8 2008, 01:53 AM
warning: complete stock on supra only works on wangan.....
