Since the "buying a MT machine" thread is here, I decided to stick this question in this thread.

I heard that in places like Hong Kong you can rent a MT machine and do what you like.

Is there any place like that in the United States?

Ask your manager or something. Just ask around, that's the way to play it

I don't think much arcades in US will let you rent, maybe if you are tight with the owners ; )

hmm it will cost quite alot i think..

but in comparison if you are going to spend like everyday there and for a long time, i think it will be worth it ^ ^

renting machine really save money , but i think its confusing too if the arcade doesnt allow renting at first

need to sit at there lot of hours, if leaving for a toilet other people will juz sit on it.

this is juz in case for the arcades that do not provide renting machine imo.

You can try On Campus Entertainment. They provide services where you can rent for a day or more. You just have to contact them. They are the same company that provides machines for my school and for Anime Expo. Not sure where they're based though - all I remember is thinking it's somewhere North.

I DO NOT KNOW ABOUT THE USA BUT HERE IN CANADA THERE IS A PLAYDIUM STORE WHERE YOU COULD RENT OR BUY THE MACHINE LIKE FOR $20 A MONTH BUT YOU HAVE TO GIVE IT BACK IN 3 MONTHS.

In Singapore we can't even rent nor buy. So yeah. FORGET RENTING lol.

Well with MT4 released in Japan and hopefully coming soon to an arcade near you, maybe we should start asking our local arcades how much they would give their 3DX+ machines up for. I have many friends who play 3DX+ so if we all split the cost might be possible?

Dude these machines go for more than a mid priced car. I don't think splitting the cost is gonna make a difference unless you each drop like 5-10 grand. Even then it might not be enough, even if it was it would be for just one cab.

I'm in the same boat, even though besides Dave N Busters, the arcade scene is fairly dead in the greater NY area.

Lake George has a couple arcades as its a touristy town, but mostly ticket redemption junk.

I'm planning on something bigger perhaps, and if things go right, I'd like to rent these games from a local distributor first, and, maybe, just maybe open up a little arcade with a pizza place in it. (Kinda like a Chucky Cheese for grown ups)

It's still an idea for upstate NY but it's only in a design phase for now.

1 more thing too, the older WMMT machines (1-3dx+) should sell for a decent, but fair price.

The most I've seen for a Maxi Tune 3 machine was $3000 tops.

The first game that usually has a twin game set-up appears to sell for almost $2000.

If you find a single machine, they will probably sell for about $1000, or however much demand is asking at that time.

Then there is the issue of finding cards to use. Parts are even harder, and the space needed to fit them in your home can be tricky too.

I recently researched the cost of a Maxi Tune 5 with the kiosk, 4 machines linked too, sucker is selling for around $150,000. Namco is nuts, but they hold the copyright for this series.
