As for the D coins, I believe it is just the same mechanics as in IDAS4 and above. Just that they wanted to give it a name instead of just simply calling it "points" or "credits."
If anything, BaNam copied them with the Maxi Coins for MT5, what with us being able to just go farm for what we need instead of unlocking everything.
I would play again if they revert the physics back to IDAS5 (slowing down to 2nd or 3rd before every corner made sense, so does gripping through almost all corners). If not that, then at least improve upon the current physics, whatever they may be. And also? Local servers please... I mean come on! Every since IDAS5 took off, not many people are playing because we don't have stuff of our own. It's always centered around Japan, it's no surprise that the Export versions were neglected (although I did like the idea of "no card life" for 5).

Kyehehe~ My body...is READY for this! >;D Also, it seems we have the pleasure to make Iketani-senpai faint and learn to be as UNREALISTICALLY OP as Takumi by drifting through courses while try not to spill the water in the cup. And I just noticed...
You won't be able to see your rival's ADVANTAGE from here on.
And Gunma, before you pass judgment about Initial D rippin' off WMMT, let me elaborate as I understand Japanese more.
D Coins apparently - are real life money currency in exchange for insufficient tuning points in assisting to full tune a car faster (Think of it as Cash points or Riot Points from League of Legends). And you can keep top upping the coins as many times as you like until you FT a car like this video from Angelmix.
Skip to 4:50 and watch how it works.

QUOTE (Normalaatsra @ 15 minutes, 51 seconds ago) | Try MT where they've added Chevy just to attract ADM fans from Japan, and the RGT for EDM exotic fans, with one hardly having anything to do with MT. Even the new MT5 cars like the Ruf's 991, Toyobaru, Skyline RS-X, and Galant. It's just variety and attraction. Fan service is one thing Initial D has done, but they gotta add more. They even miss out on the ER34 to return, one of my favourite models in the IDAS series. They can return the CS14. But it's up to SEGA's mismanagement in the end. |
Actually the new chevys and the new RuFs ARE fanservice. Even the Toyobaru. The old Chevy's canon - it did mention Kitami working on muscle cars back in the day (and probably the new camaro is the modern interpretation of that). The RK maybe the modern interpretation of Yamamoto mentioning the Porsche Boxster (the RK's base model) in the ZERO for the roads story so it falls also on the same line as the camaro. And maybe even same case with the RGT. Galants are pretty rampant as traffic cars in other installments so that one is easy. DR30 may fall on the same line as during the Hako's era and maybe one of the models Kitami worked on too.
I'm also surprised they didn't mention the ER34.
inb4 they give Kawai a GT-R with the ER34 aero.
