Bought Persona 5 a week ago but I can't play it yet because of shipping delays.

Whatever though, I got interested in the game at first because of the memes and the waifus but reading the spoilers got me interested enough to buy a copy. Thought of playing Persona 3 or Persona 4 while waiting but ehh I'm pretty busy nowadays. I'll probably do that when I'm done with Persona 5.

So yeah, post Persona 5 memes, post your waifu of choice, or discuss useful shit for once, like Confidants/Social Links or combat.

Oh, also discussion about SMT is also welcome here.

I'll get the ball rolling:

A Shin Megami Tensei thread goin'. Good stuff.
I want to get on that Digital Devil Saga joint soon. I have the game, been having it for a while actually. Just haven't fired it up.
I played Persona 4. Fun game. Haven't finished it though. That's another one.
My brother also has Shin Megami Tensei IV. Don't know anything about that game.

Just finished NG+, lap 2 on Merciless (yes I'm bragging lel). Thought of stopping after winning the secret boss, but might as well finish it anyway. Also tuned some OP personas along the way, making Reaper and the secret boss my b*tches. I practically waltzed through the whole game solo, except in boss fights that require a teammate to finish.

P5 has been dumbed down a lot from P3 and P4. I was shocked but excited to find that we could choose what to inherit in fusions. That makes life so much more bearable! Maxing stats and links is also easier compared to the other two.

Wished they made the story darker and Yoko Taro-ish f*cked up, though. The ending was cheesy af. P3 ending and plot remains my favourite.

Futaba mai waifu. :3

The only significant DLC is the Japanese voiceover, which is available for Region 2 discs. But that's for PS4. Not sure for PS3 version.

P3 is a lot harder to play. Grinding sucks until you unlock something towards the end of the first playthrough. You should try to finish it because it's worth it. Ending was great in P3.

Persona 5 finally came, played it nonstop for 2 days.

Kind of kicking myself rn for wasting time during Kamoshida's Palace. Started the game in Hard then lowered difficulty to Normal because I got fed up of the RNGfest, and then right before the last battle before sending the calling card I lowered the difficulty AGAIN to easy.

Also it took me like 4-5 in-game days to complete the heist, excluding the days in between where I did social links or bought stuff.

So much wasted time, I could've used it on social links instead or improving social stats :|||

Just play Normal/Easy till you're around level 30+. Hard shouldn't be a problem after that, especially after you get Shiki-Ouji. Just figure out how to cover its weaknesses.

Protip for first playthrough:
1. Conserve SP whenever possible. Strategy.
2. Stock up SP (vending machines) and HP (clinic and bread) items.
3. Link up quick with Death S.Link to get discount for healing items. Buy the SP patch at 50,000 yen. It's worth the money.
4. Limit the same palace visit to twice max. Best if you can clear it in one shot. Most palaces after that will take up at least 3 days due to plot. I learned that the hard way with the second palace.
5. Don't go to work unnecessarily. There're plenty of lucrative ways to earn money.
6. Spam Big Bang Burger challenge to max out your stats.

S. Link is very lenient (more than P4's) in this version. I played blindly except for ideal S. Link answers, which needs FAQ and I still had about 10 days left.

Too godawful lazy (and busy) to play the third round, but has anyone tried fighting the secret boss with almighty orb on? Does the boss instakill 9999 like the previous secret bosses from P3 and P4?

Very curious about that.

I did reaper farming in normal difficulty during November in-game

it was pretty easy tbh. Thought you need to get it right at first encounter but eh turns out you can just keep escaping until the guy finally gets hit with despair

it spoiled the game for me a bit though because of Ryuji's ambush instakill ability lmao
