Nice 944 dude. I thought about getting a 951, but CA smog laws and finding my current Z for a better price than a nice 951 put me in a different direction. I'd still love to pick one up eventually. Probably a 944S2, rebuild the engine and then turbo it biggrin.gif

thanks laugh.gif

i was originally gonna get a 924S.. but an oppurtunity for this one came up.. was similar in price, so i took the slightly older 944 instead.

future plans for the car?

well, thinking about a turbo swap.. or perhaps put it up to spec mechanically to the 968...

3.0 DOHC motor.. then perhaps turbo it. suspension wise the car is almost done, so im just a motor and transmission away to a really awesome car.

time would tell, maybe i'd just smarten up and save some money for a 911.

Well, if you are going to be grabbing one of the 3.0s out of a S2 or 968, I'd say just go and rebuild it for a low comp, high boost turbo setup right off the bat, since it'll save you more time later that you otherwise would have to spend yanking the engine (Don't remember how easy that's supposed to be in a 944, but I don't *think* they were old enough to have lots of room around the engine to get it out).

Half of the reason I'd like to get a S2 later down the road and turbo it is so that I can have my three liter straight six in the Z (that by then will be SCed) and another three liter in the 944, though that'd be a four banger.

pretty much, since the engine is out.

would build the engine seperately first...

wondering what kind of piston kits out there.. that'll support turbocharging for the 3.0 motor.

oh hell, its not everyday you see a 3.0 4 banger anyways laugh.gif

Cool ass pix man

+1 on the cobalt.....

FF cars do very well in those comps FF cars in general are cast to the side. Although ill probably never race another FF car again, I built them and they can be very competitive.

FFs do very well. I mentioned the SE-R because the one we see regularly is driven so well, you'd think it was AWD.

So far, it's looking like I will be shooting the event tomorrow (weather permitting), and I'll get pics up over the week as I can. With finals next week, I won't be spending much time in the lounge at school so I won't have that bandwidth to use, so it'll likely be mid-week when I get them all up.

Probably going to have to go custom on the pistons if you want to use the stock rods (dunno how much they are good for though). Shouldn't be *that* hard to get a set with a nice dish to them, especially if you don't over bore to some wierd size (like I'm doing with my L30 stroker I'm planning. Nobody seems to only go 1.5mm over, it's all mostly 2.5mm over)

most likely...

makes me wonder if the earlier 928 bore size is the same... maybe i could use those pistons.. lots of researching to do ><

i do think the stock rods are able to support boost.. besides, the turbo car uses identical connecting rods i think. there is a local 951 with about 350whp zipping around town.. and its for sale! ahhaha laugh.gif (its guards red though)

the bore is actually quite big for the 3.0 motor.. went to a local porsche specialty shop and saw a cut through model of the motor.. my god those pistons were huge.

and for old times sake, i'll post a pic of my old car.

Holy crap, I didn't notice that until you mentioned it!

I'm not surprised, though. Honda guys love our old stock crap. You can usually sell it for more on Honda boards than anywhere else.

CL still needs a drop, a lip, and a '97 grill.

But other than that, it can't look any better. wink2.gif That Metallic green is the best color for them, hands down.
