My all time favourite cars are:
1. 1996-97 Toyota Corolla, because we (me & my dad own it) find this car very reliable, cheap to maintain because you can find and buy the parts anywhere, affordable, indeed very economical, not to mention its speed and power for a 1.3L engine is very excellent. I may include Toyota '86 Trueno (cause corolla and trueno are somewhat related)
2. 1992-2002 Mazda RX-7 FD, due to its sexy looks, for a 1.3L RE its surprisingly fast and has excellent clearance in cornering/turning, and its economical.
3. 1989-1994 Toyota Celsior, I don't really know why I like this luxury sedan? Maybe it's because it looks cool especially in black, has a V8 engine which makes it indeed powerful, comfort is great, and it looks like a mafia car which I dubbed "keep away from this car".

My only favourite car is RX-7 FD-3S [especial 02']
In fact I drive one of these back home and modified it to around 400 whp for mountain road racing. This car is so fast that you won't believe; once you ride on it, you will never forget that feeling. When the mighty 13B starts to boosts out power, unlike piston engings, the power of 13 is going up steady. Also, the 13B is well-known for easy to tune [modify friendly] if you know how the 13B works. Moreover, from my personal experience...if you drive a hot Japanese tuner in Jap such as Supras, GTRs, Zs, S13/14/15, EVOs, STIs, Civis [e.g. EGs, DCs], Intergras...etc. you are likely will tailgates by any of those or even Ferraris and Prosches; however, I never seen any RX-7s tailgates by anyone, not even try to because RX-7s is well-known for quickness.
Here's one little secert of the 13Bs or the RX-7 series, 13Bs are easy to modify to running beyound 10,000 rev. all you need to do is take the car to the manufator or whatever shop can works or rotarts [I don't know about America, but you can do that in some places]
Other than power, the RX-7 series is more famous for its amazing [superior] handling. Thanks to the small size of the rotarty engine, the RX-7 series is able to use the FMR formation which produce 50:50 weight rato. Becasue of the weight rato, the RX-7 series has [I would say] superior agility if compare to other Japanese cars. One might say the AWD cars such as EVOs, STis, and GTRs would have better handling a FR car. In fact, I believe that only have correct but not excatly... Ture, AWD or 4WD cars are able to attack a coner with a higher in-speed; however, the weakness of this cars is easy to cause a understeering situation while leaving the apex [which cause lost of speed and racing line to recover]. On the other hand, FR cars have higher leaving speed, acceleration, and control if enters the coner with a reasonable speed. Of crouse, you can trun in with higher speed with 4WD cars, but remember, you still have to leave the coner with a good speed to keep yourself in the competetion.
According to the designer of RX-7[chiff engineer of RX-7] from a Japanese automobile show [similar to Top Gear], the idea of RX-7 is coming from the Japanese Zero Type Fighter during WWII which known for light weight, handling, and agility. Therefore, I believe that's what RX-7 is making for.
That's only my opinion and sorry for bad English
