I like rpg's, but I'm more a fan of the old school and turn based. Graphics aren't my number one priority as long as the gameplay and story are good and had some thought put into them. I was really let down by FFXII, if I want to play a mmorpg I'd pick up FFXI or WoW and not this watered down single player clone. I love the Suikoden series as well, right now they are one of my favourite series. I tried out Magna Carta Tears of Blood, it was ok but I didn't care for the set amount of battles that force you to only level as much as they want you to (I want to grind!). I'm trying to find some good new ones to play now, really they've all just been "meh", tho.
I really enjoy racing games as well. I just beat Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero 100% the other day. I'm looking forward to Wangan Midnight on the ps3 so I can play it. I might have to give in and mod my ps2 so I can play Kaido Battle and the other Wangan Midnight game...Import Tuner Challenge was a joke, they totally disgraced Tokyo XTreme Racer with that. Need for Speed is the same ridiculous stories as ever and ugly ricer cars. The last "new" racer I played was Fast and Furious, that was decent. It was short as hell, tho. Drifting was really nicely done, they needed more course and more wangan races.
I love fighting games, Tekken and Soul Calibur maybe throw in some other random ones like DOA and KoF. Maybe even play some DBZ for a good laugh here and there, lol. I play mainly with friends, but I play for fun and my friends tend to play tournament style. So, at times it can get boring and stupid. They need to give Tekken a good fighter creator like Soul Calibur, that'd be the best ever! I'm really looking forward to that korean online fighting sim, making your own fighter and everything. Can't wait to get my hands on it.
Action games are ok, it just depends on my mood. Same with survival horror games. FPS's...I really could care less about them at all. They are boring as hell to me, and they are all the same just different graphics. The only reason people buy them anyways is to multiplayer, and that's the exact same boring repetative gameplay as ever. So, I don't go near those. I just remembered I had a DS the other day, so now I'm trying to find some fun games to play on it. I just want some fun quick games, tho. That I can sit down and play for like 15min. or less and enjoy myself and not have to put continuos effort into it and play it EVERY day.
G-T-R move your pinky over like an inch and press that caps lock button. Besides, why do you hate console games with a passion so much? You can get a really nice driving setup like I have, tear a seat out of an old crap car (tercel in my case lol) and rig the wheel and pedals up to it...BAM! You have an arcade setup in your house, now you can play Wangan Midnight/Initial D/Kaido Battle/Tokyo Xtreme Racer for totally FREE. Go get some guns (also like I have) and you can play Time Crisis or House of the Dead. My friend has a set of those metal dance pads for DDR, that light up and have the support bar on the back and everything. Same as the arcade with her big screen and her awesome sound system. Consoles aren't that different than arcade, especially when you can just invite a bunch of your gaming buddies over and play in the same atmosphere for FREE.

Wow. I read the whole thing!
I think the problem with Consoles with games like DDR, and other racing games in trying to achieve the arcade gameplay, it can be very expensive. Sure, it's possible to achieve the same result as in the arcade, but not many people can afford dance mats and racing seats. I think it's the convenience of the arcade which is appealing. You don't need to do anything, just rock up and put your coins in (in my case swipe your card) and you're ready to go. Sure, it's more expensive in the long run, but it's the convenience that matters. You don't have to ever think about where you're gunna store your massive dance stage or your racing setup. Both are good but different people prefer different things.
Personally, instead of saving up for a PS3 i'm saving up for a car. The way I see it is I'm only gunna buy racing games anyway. I'd rather drive fast in real life than on my TV

Lol, I doubted anyone would ever read the whole thing. I didn't mean for it to end up being that long...I just started typing and...it turned into that.
Yeah, convenience is another issue. For me, I had the old beat up Tercel I could just rip the seat out of before we scrapped it, and my brother had bought the force feedback digital wheel and everything last year and he never uses it anymore (too busy with his xbox 360). And, my friend is just a rich girl so she got the dance pads...she's spoiled, it bugs me. I can understand not everyone has the same resources. For me, it was just a matter of sitting down and rigging it together to work, and I like tinkering and making random things like that lol.
My money is going to my car right now, and to the essentials (food, toiletries, and the like). Although, this summer I am starting my new job at NASA. So, I'm excited for the surge of capital I'll have so I can finally go a little crazy and actually buy stuff that I don't need again.

It's hard to choose ;; Especially I like every games from different genre...I like driving but I love FPS(Black, Red faction 2, Killzone, Gears of War, Resistant: Fall of Man, CS, Doom...), TPS(Freedomfighters), RPG(Final Fantasy, Disgaea...), Aerial Combat Arcade(Ace Combat 4,5, zero - pround owner of all 3), fighting(Tekken tag, 4, 5, 5:dr, Soul Calibur 2,3, King of Fighters, Melty Blood, Guilty Gear - I'm a huge fan of this game. Already preordered Accent Core-) and so on...I just like them all. Every genre has something to give and I enjoy the difference between each genre...

Nowadays, I'm mostly into driving games like WMMT. Prior to that, I was into first person shooters. However, my first love in terms of games are flight simulators (like Lock-On or ATF) or flight shooters (Ace Combat anyone?). It's quite sad that few people appreciate this game category.

It's true that quite a lot of people enjoy online games nowadays. Call me weird but I do enjoy the feeling of spinning around inside a plane... maybe that's why I got stuck using the first-person view in Maximum Tune. Btw, for those who are interested, the Ace Combat series is on Playstations 1 and 2 and on the X-Box360 (Ace Combat 6).
