Hey, I was planning on running some MaxTune2 tournaments at a local arcade of mine, and I was wondering what the most popular formats are for running these. 4-man singles, 2-man teams, etc? Also, what the most popular tracks are, if they're 2 out of 3 races or a single race, etc.

They'll be at Family Fun Arcade in Granada Hills, CA, which just lowered the price of their MaxTune to 75 cents.

U LUCKY BASTARD!!!! so lucky u have 4 cabinets to play on, anyways, we did a 1v1 ladder tourney and it turned out pretty good. but if u have 4 cabinets u should definately try a 4 person battle ladder. and if theres enough people 2 do it have a 2v2 tourney as well.

a 1 on 1 format is better for a competition. Gives players a better chance at pulling a good time and makes the competition more exciting!

I held a tournament where I play a few months ago. The way I set it up was 1 on 1 (Best out of 3) and whoever was eliminated from that bracket ranking was decided by how many meters they lost by.

Say you had 6 people playing in a bracket, that's 3 races, 3 winners, 3 losers. Losers rankings were decided on how many meters they lost to their opponent by (The lower the higher of ranking).

Man... I used to be a fairly common regular at that arcade. You guys really need to fix up the cabinets before you even contemplate holding a tournament. Like 90% of the time at least 1 of the cabinets isn't working properly.

FYI - To maybe have SOME sort of reasonable say in this my previous name for that game was -XTC- (White R32 rank S5) if you've seen me play. I was also the one who brought the Gemballas over to FFA.

I haven't played the game in a while, but if you guys really do manage to fix the cabinets and get a good enough turn out I will love to join (given that I get some practice in and full tune a new card...)

Edit: Any clue on what the cost to enter would be?
Would we also have to play per game?
How much of the pot will the winner walk away with?
