I should really troll these forums more often.... Didnt know this thread existed Being in Australia, there are many common cars out there that people seem to drive eg. Commodores, Falcons & the many imports that are out ther (including the Silvia Series/Skylines/Supras). But im more of the euro fan; but not the overly exxy euros. Im a Holden/Opel Calibra Driver Its bacially a 96' Calibra Turbo 4WD. 6sp manual. A funky purple colour (in certain light, u can see green in it). Its mostly standard, I've only started to modify it. So far ive only got a K&N panel filter, some black lexus style tail lights (the orig ones were cracked) and also 2x12" Kenwood Subs running from a 800WRMS amp (came from my other car). It still retains its little KKK16 turbo and still makes around 200hp. I have just recently purchased a set of Lockheed Cross-Drilled & slotted rotors for some stopping power in the mountains. My next few purchases are some EBC Redstuff Brake pads all around & a set of Koni SSK sports suspension. Also when my other car gets sold, a new FMIC replaces the old side mounted job & a full custom radiator made to fill the void & replace the slightly corroded one thats there now. Rims & exhaust are also on the list, but not so necessary, coz what is power without control Ive wanted a Calibra for many years now & feel extremly happy to have one. This project for me is part restoration (its had a hard life from its previous owner), also part what i feel the calibra shouldve been like. So only time will tell how it goes. Hopefully within the next couple of years, ill be blasting down Queensland Raceway

the calibra turbo has a great engine and a very good drag coefficient the Turbo engine is pretty popular in germany because you can get 300HP+ out of it for almost no money but in recent years the calibras got pretty rare and there are reasons for that: the 4wd system cant really handle more power, the car starts to rust very easily and many are run down by young punks and/or riced up or they just crash it.
i wanted one once but than i gathered info about it and all its failures and one thing i totally hate is the dashboard its just horrible

Yeah, im well aware of all the problems associated with the good ole Cali. And I have been criticised for having the car for that reason. The rust issue I havnt come across with this one, seems pretty good when i went over it. And power for me, unlike a lot of fellow australians, power doesnt concern me, id rather hav 200hp with good response rather than 500hp with major lag. And if the calis are rare your way, imagine how rare they are over here, most of my parts are imported from the UK or Germany, not that is bothers me. Its part of the modifying experience. This is why im looking into the drivability side of things to begin with. But the project is only in the infancy stages at the moment. Cant wait til its done, should be good n reletivly unique (but just remember, jus coz ur unique, doesnt mean ur useful )
