i finally got mine. The game is really ugly but it's fun to play... The card list on the previous page is the only thing needed to play the game if you don't speak japanese. The first thing to do is to switch the accelerator from X to R2 or L2. Without that the game is really unplayable.

This game is really cool. I have to hold L2 every time on this game cause it is so dark.lol I like that if u push ur car too hard, the engine will blow out. I thank Genki very much for this game.

Sounds like you guys really like the game. This is a contrast from what other people have said about the game being terrible.

What about the online portion? I heard that it is very laggy in all respects, including the meters so that you never know when your engine is going to blow.

Just curious is all wink2.gif.

lol i'm a big fan of genki racing games, this game has massive graphic potential.. but still to me, card system and blowing engine meter? That just flat out killed the game for me, I'll keep the game I guess cause I like this series, but honestly, i'll just stick to Import tuner Challenge (Tokyo Extreme Racer) for 360.. Even though theyre both done by the same people, the old one is more hand on real racing approach. You can even buy the Devil Z at the end of the game

okay so i've cleared every chapter so far but akio's section. i'm stuck at chapter 5, at the part after the 4:20:000 time attack where your engine is going to blow before it starts. without more cards to get its hard as hell.

Well the consensus is that it still can't touch the arcade version by a long shot, even with the online play.

I will save my $700 (I figure thats what a decent model of the PS3 costs with tax) and put that into my engine overhauls :3.

no one answered my questions last time so I'm going to formulate them again

1. Is there some kind of career mode in the game ? Is it someting ala shutokou battle, in which you're given an initial amount of money to buy your first car with, before racing shuto hashiriyas ?

2. How are garages and car purchases handled in the game ? Can you just buy anything you want among the available cars and tune it up, or are their other conditions to meet beforehand ?

3. Related to question n.2, what cars can be bought in the game ?

thanks in advance

Nope

you dont buy you are given, good results get you nice cars and cards (proformace parts) read more about the Card System in this game.

Its different from how you are thinking completely. still a good game, but it pissed me off a bit and i am not playing it at the moment.

thank you for answering man !

I've read about the car system here and there, but actually thought money was still involved during a player's progression. Guess I was too much looking for a shuto-like ! Won't prevent me from buying the game in a soon future though.

Thanks again smile.gif

edit
forgot to ask couple things about online play smile.gif
Is it limited to one on one, no traffic races ?

I arrived in Japan on Sunday, so I decided on Tuesday to go pick this game up while I was here.

The card list is going to help, I'm sure. Thank you to whoever provided it. However, I would like to read the story and I was wondering if there was a script in english on the internet, of if there was a patch I could download to play the entire game in english.

Also, what is the limit of car customization on this game? All I have seen so far is Bonnet, Muffler, and Spoiler. Is there a wider range of customization as there was in the arcade game?

Thanks guys, hope to hear from you soon.

Hey, I read somewhere that only the 60GB PS3 would be able to play this.
Is that true?
Because I'm picking up a 80GB tomorrow or in the next couple of days and I really want to get this as one of my first games.

Received this game on saturday and it`s really fun.
Made good progress in the game but now I got a question that couldn`t be solved despite a japanese FAQ and a chinese and english part list.

My question is how do engine swaps work?

I got the card "077: VG30 Engine Level 1" but how do I install this engine?

Anyone managed to find a solution?

Thanks in advance!

I have a 80GB and it works fine..... seems that any PS3 works with it.

But for the Engine level cards..... that is unknown to me, any help should be appreciated.

For my home use I compiled a japanese FAQ with a chinese card list and a english brief card list from the GameFAQ`s boards.
So I can easily tick off what events and cards I won and what cards maybe useful for the next races.

This are the genuine FAQ`s

http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/genmessag...&topic=39370592
http://www37.atwiki.jp/wangan3/pages/1.html
http://www1.uwants.com/attachment.php?aid=2595988

For translating the japanese and chinese files I used this page:
http://translator.live.com

And now here`s my destilled version:

http://www.file-upload.net/download-629482...nglish.rtf.html

Without the whole card list at the end it`s 17 pages, complete I would guess up to 20 pages.

The brief card list which describes in the cards in general are on top and are colored to match the colors of the cards in the game for convenience.
If you got no color printer, select them all and change the color to black otherwise some lines are too faded out to read.
