hi everyone
2 weeks ago I ordered the game from hong kong and it cost me $46 including shipping. Today I received it this morning and im telling you this game is simply magnificent. I liked most the graphics and the story mode looks great (its only in japanese but somehow I managed to understand something from it). Im wondering how can I change the car colours and get more upgrades. Also im still new to this game until I get used to it. If you guys interested to buy this game ebay got plenty of it and yes there are many used games but I dont care at all. All
I care the disc doesnt got any scrathes or any damage on it and thats fine with me. I also found the initial d game for ps3 and looks fantastic. Still a bit more expensive at the moment but I wish someday get 1.
thx for reading

I played some guys from Japan, but they only somehow play the game on the weekends, Friday in the US, Saturday in Japan. The Japan players played the game on that kind of day in the afternoon. I have the game and got platinum in all scenarios. Every card is unlocked except card #102 and card #105. I like the game, but the handling is funny.

I'll give you tips about the game,

1. Please make sure you're playing with the game pad on scenario mode and keep it wired to prevent delays.

2. Set the gas function to R2 and set the brake function to L2, just to prevent your car from overheating.

3. If you can't get them all platinum, try doing different scenarios and drive as fast as possible.

4. Engine swaps are acquired after 15 platinums or more are done.

5. If you're going to play Survival mode in the monster class, you'll need different cards in one set. You'll need a RB26 or a 2JZ Lvl2 engine swap card, card #065 (Transmission and Suspension), card #043 (Weight Reduction), card #068 (Body Stiffness, Engine Durability and Life Gauge), card #054 (Tire Grip), card #010 (Engine Upgrade for the RB26 and the 2JZ), card #047 (ECU High Torque) and card #067 (Ghost Car Mode).

6. If you want to use a steering wheel, set the rotation to 200 degrees. 900 degrees makes it worst. The best steering wheel to use is the G25.

That's all you need from me.

Thanks very much for your tips GetMePower! I had a savegame with more than 15 Platinum medals, but that one is gone sad.gif Now I'm struggling to get EVEN ONE Platinum Medal. I guess I'm using the wrong cards, or should I disconnect the Wheel and use the Sixaxis-Controller therefor?
Do you have tips regarding Cards in Story-Mode? Any help would be appreciated smile.gif
ATM I'm using following cards:
004 - Engine upgrade for Blackbird and Devil-Z
043 - Weight Reduction Card
049 - ECU Card for High Power Output
054 - Tire Grip improvement

Greetings, Desune

You're very welcome, Desune. Make sure you have the weight reduction card, the highest engine tune card, the suspension card and the transmission card on the four slots. If it doesn't help, try to figure it out. Use the controller, not the wheel. Using the wheel will make your rank below S at some point. To get the S rank, please check out here, JP Wangan Midnight PS3 Guide and you'll see Story Mode on the left side. Click one of the links from the Story Mode section. This will show you the time and the S rank.

I updated the Wangan Midnight PS3 English wiki under the username "APR76". Speed King is added in the car list.

In the meantime I managed to get Platinum on some Stages, but thanks anyway. smile.gif
I just replaced 054 (Tire Grip) with 055 (Transmission upgrade) and with that card I won Gold on Tatsuya Series #5. In this series i did get 056 (Transmission 2). With that configuration i was able to get some Platinum Medals smile.gif smile.gif
And yes, I unplugged the Wheel as well and put acceleration to R2 and brakes on L2 ^^
You see, I just did what you wrote now. You should've answered earlier. tongue.gif biggrin.gif
Thanks as well for your work on wikipedia.org - looks nice!

not exactly sell as go for a gamestop and buy it. I buy it (PS3 game) from the internet.

If you find someone who wants it, sell it then.
hope it clears a little bit

Hi majik16106
To get the extra slots open, you have to earn Platinum medals (Rank S in the majority of races in a serie of story mode)

If you get 5 Platinum medals overall you will receive card #126 that unlocks a 5th card slot.

15 Platinum medals are needed for card #127
#127 will give you a 6th slot and the ability to use the "engine swap" cards (#69-#80)

25 Platinum medals are needed for card #128
#128 gives you the 7th and 8th slot and the ability to use 2 "tuner cards" (the green ones?) simultaneously

Tuner cards are the red cards. wink2.gif
