Three times, now. Guys, the second episode comes out THIS WEEKEND. The series will be released on a TWO EPISODES PER MONTH BASIS. Starting with this weekend and episodes 1 and 2. Version 2 of the subs will be much better, as I've also been shown a few other errors, hahaha. Stupid me and my speedsubbing, hitting the wrong keys. For Mac, I suggest using VLC Media Player. For Windows PC, I suggest installing CCCP ( http://cccp-project.net) and using Media Player Classic, and for Linux PC I suggest looking into mPlayer or ZoomPlayer. This is just a simple XviD encode... there shouldn't be any problems.

QUOTE | So far I really like it, but it does come with at least for me a few downsides. Although the engine noises are really loud and all, it's disappointing, because the engine sounds good, but I don't hear the sound of the turbo. The Blackbird is also missing the woosh of the turbo. As the engine becomes more powerful and gets bigger turbos that woosh becomes more prominent, and I'm not hearing it which disappoints me some.
I have mixed feelings on the music, I don't like the OP/ED songs as they just don't seem to fit with Wangan. The rest of the music is alright, some of it I don't like at all, it doesn't fit and isn't music I'd listen to, some of the other selections are really good and fit really well. So it's a mixed bag for me. |
Well my only answer for the first part is that it is the first episode and undoubtly there will be changes, minor ones, to certain aspects of the show. And as the series goes on, cars do get faster, so perhaps that certain "woosh" sound will appear.
As far as everything else goes I havent said much on the show yet since theres only one episode out and its quite hard to really look at a show with only so little out. Though I do enjoy the opening by TRF, I think it captures the "feel" for the show nicely. I was a bit worried that the music might include Eurobeat and try to be a Initial D spinoff; which it is not. For the rest of the music, it goes along well.
I hope though that this show isnt drawing the wrong crowd. By that I mean, people who watched Initial D and now that it isnt running are looking for another racing show. Not that WM isnt, its just that there is a lot more emphasis on characters, tuning, and lifestyle beyond racing.
Only time will tell I suppose.

I guess to back up AsakuraZ on this...Allow me to clear up some things I've deduced from reading the Manga and playing the arcade game religiously ;; Basically.... Akio JUST got the Z.. It's technically "un-tuned" and only has around 500HP right now. This is when Kochan had just fixed it up. That's why he has the old mirrors and the fog lights. Now...Later on in the series, just like Asakura says.. Is when they meet Jun Kitami. He basically gets his dirty hands in there and fixes up the Z. That's when we'll most likely hear the WHOOSH and see the Z much faster, along with the aero mirrors and the different front spoiler. If you're really good too, you'll notice the "final Z" also has straight silver wantanabes rather then the chrome and black finish. In the games he has Bronze but in the manga and now series (you'll notice in the intro if you look closely..because they switch Z's from first to second) he has silver rims. Also, the Black Bird will be faster and tuned by Kitami, and also get a different front spoiler with the large fog lights. Take a look too, in the anime he only has single exhaust, so he has to get the duals too. If you remember in..I think race 67 or something of WMMT2 where you race blackbird and Kitami, that's where Blackbird gets tuned by Kitami. So we have a ways to go before we see the final Z variant and the final Black Bird variant. Keep in mind..Akio has a few crashes too go. Now I have a question for everyone.... Anyone know where the heck we can get the music? I want it on my iPod so I can play the game with that music... :x Good stuff. This post has been edited by Zelse on Jun 12 2007, 05:01 PM

I think it has 620hp, but otherwise your point is valid.
@Alice_Z: Listen to Nomake_Wan and grab CCCP. I used Winamp to watch it, personally.

QUOTE | Gotcha. Asakura, do you agree with some of the info I provided above after your post? just curious on your two cents on that. Also, I PM'd Hara regarding volunteering to help out on the forums and all that..should I have PM'd you? Just quick question on that.

Your information sounds accurate. I have many mangas of WM on hand but my lack of knowledge of the japanese language hinders me at times. I do have the Index and Super Tuning books, which list specifics specs and upgrades done to the cars and in the future I wish to get that translated and have a thread that lists the cars and there upgrades.
As far as PMing goes, either or both is fine. We both moderate and do equal work. Im usually on the forums M-F 7AM-4PM mainly because at work Im on a computer and the site is usually up in the backround. And from there I can answer any direct questions members have and get back in a timely manner.
On another note, an interesting fact is that after the Blackbird is in a crash, they practically rebuild the car from the ground up, including a new body, engine, larger turbo and many other parts to list. Its nice to see that Akio also helps with its rebuilding. A nod that even though Tatsuya and Akio are rivals, they wish to see each other get faster.
