Looks like a really nice project. It's always fun to see projects coming together slowly, gives you a nice sense of accomplishment. 170 shouldn't be that hard in any turbo Supra, I've buried the needle in stock Integras at around 125, and I've gone 165 in a near stock e34 525i. Lightening is the key. How much hp are you shooting for?

Out of curiousity, will the problem be going 170 mph or keeping some degree of control over what the car is doing or might do at 170?

Build the head! The 7M is pretty much limited to around 140-150 because the valves overlap around 6.5k. Trust me, I've hit that limit many, many times in my N/A. Of course at that point you can't feel the front wheels anymore. Good luck with the build!

Ill retain the stock head being the valves and the head are slightly diffrent on the turbo 7M's which is why the Turbo A could do 170+ easily which uses the same engine. But I will change the head gasket haha

Any updates on this?

For what its worth- if you go through the shinanigans of rebuilding the engine, do yoruself a good favor and O-ring that block- Then sigh with relief as the fear of headgasket problems goes out the window smile.gif

Big update plus some carnage.

Well i got into an accident not a big one but an old lady decide her eclipse was small enough to park beside me even though a F150 was less than 2 ft away!

Long story short she realized this and back out in the process hitting my driver side quater panel.

Damage was minimum for me but her door was FUBARD

On the way to TX2K8 Supra Nationals i blew and intercooler hose and if anyone has done this running an AFM knows what a pain it is. I went through 2 sets of spark plugs just to make it back home a 60mile trip, though the 7M took it like a champ.

Beautiful car JDMMA70!

I must say, I particularly love the two-tone paint job. It looks very unique. If you dont mind me asking, what do you plan on using this car for? Keep me and the other WM members posted, I would love to see the cars progress.

Stock they can hit speeds up to 145-150mph minor mods and a long stretch of road and it will get there, now when i said that i did not mean in a matter of seconds may take 20 seconds to get there who knows.

By minor i mean
Intake
Intercooler
Full Exhaust
Boost Controller set to 12psi

Few guys ive seen hit 155-165+ (just ran out of road)

very nice supra..

i believe that stainless steel turns that way just because of heat. my stainless steel headers turnt into that within a day of running.

their a different in minor mods compare na and fi(mainly turbo). na gets the header, turbo gets the boost controller.
