I agree. I have 5 years of my life into my Z. No free rides for me. If I was the writer, I'd find a way to have him earn it.

Didn't they say he earned it by working all the time instead of going to school in the first couple eps?

The car was partly a gift (Ko-chan told Akio he'd buy him a first-gen Z), and partly selling the Z31. The first two crashes, Akio fixed the car up himself, and did rebuild the engine. But everything after that (complete rebuild of the frame from scratch, complete re-tune of the engine from scratch) was for free and those things are what would cost the most if he had to pay.

Any updates on subs for these two episodes?

im sorry if i sound rude... however, im curious why people keep asking when the subs come out? i just think its kind of stupid to ask. it also makes it seem as tho you cant read or understand english. If there was an update or a release dont you think it would be posted?? sorry if i sound like a douche, but its just kinda funny/frustrating to me

More than that, with sites like Dattebayo turning around an episode in a matter of hours from airing in Japan, people set that sort of subbing time as the speed with which all anime can be subbed at.... And there's not even that much talking in WM compared to others... I've tried to outsource a fansubber to do WM, but the only person I found who'd be capable of doing it only fansubs into Russian.

Oh well, at least Nomake Wan is a cool guy, that makes the wait more tolerable.

Dattebayo is a massive team, and they're all F**King assholes. I'm sorry, but I just can't stand the way they treat their fans. It's sickening and despicable.

All the subbers so far (with the exception of FLOMP... I think...) have been one person. You can't compare that to Dattebayo.

That's my point, most people pushing for the completed subbed episodes are spoiled and probably don't make the distinction between a giant team of arseholes and one guy trying to balance between work, and hobbies that eat up your free time.

I definitely understand what you're saying, but there's 8 pages of posts and from everything I read I didnt really see much about anyone really making headway on translations. I know that if they were done somebody would have posted them by now. Since I hadnt seen anything I assumed that they werent complete.

I'm more curious if there is anyone currently working on them, which I'm sure someone is, who the translators are, and of there was any update from said translators.

I understand that the translations are complicated, and I am not trying to be annoying by simply asking, "hey does anyone know what is going on?" It's not the speed of translation I'm really concerned with, anybody that vaugely knows Japanese can watch a raw and say "well I think that's what he said.... well, I'll just add that." bad translations arent fun when you have to try and do your own translation from broken english into real english. It takes a lot of time and skill to do a really good job of translating and that's what I am hoping/waiting for.

Again, I appologise if I sounded stupid and impatient, but I am eager to hear about updates on the new episodes.

I would like to thank those people who do take the time to sub these shows for all the rest of us to enjoy.

I don't understand why people are so impatient to watch eps 7 and 8 with subs.. It will come out when it comes out!

It will be 6 months until the whole series has been released in Japan, So you just have to wait basically.

Dattebayo may be a group of assholes but at least they work quickly. I couldn't care less about their attitude. Once they continue providing quality quick releases thats all that matters.

okerampa, I only upload to a direct download server (Mcfly's or Perry's depending on bandwidth), and to bittorrent, and occasionally upon request I do sendspace. If my episodes make it onto any other sites, it was not by my hand.

I think its pretty decent, well for the sake of just having it subbed, not bad at all. If you don't care bout much quality

Hm, alot of the translations are questionable from what I can make out of what they're saying. But after 4,500 hours of waiting for this episode to be translated, it is nice to have close to 8 minutes of show to watch.

Not been on here for a while but nice to see people are still patiently waiting for the urban myth that is episode 7 to get subbed. Well good people have no fear; it'll have all been worth it. I have got a copy of episodes 7-12 that have been subbed (badly). As I now have the transcripts for these bad boys i'll be subbing them myself over the next week or so (tidying them up and improving the grammer a little). I would post the copies i've got but they are sh*te quality and it wouldn't do any justice to this great anime. Get ready peeps... It's now actually gonna happen.

I'll probably get shouted at for not doing a search but has anyone seen the pics of the new live action version that they are doing at the moment? They have storyboard pics of Manga > Anime > Live Action for reference and they look like they are doing a great job of it.

At this point, I'll believe it when I see it I think if you don't watch any of the new episodes that are coming out it'll motivate you to work faster cause you'll be suffering like the rest of us

Right peeps... I have got the most awesome copy of episode 7 & 8 (in uber resolution) and i've timed and formatted the subs (which look the t*ts!) in AEGISUB. As soon as I can work out how to hardcode them in, i'll post them up (it's beginning to flummox me a bit at the moment. I desperately want to keep the formatting that I have as a .ass file). I'll keep thee all posted as soon as...
