I'm a little lost as well, can anyone explain what happening with the guy that has the pregnant wife, and what exactly is going on?

My wife was confused as well. Im not a fan of how they went about the Z getting wrecked in the episode. It's one thing to tell something via flashbacks, but when you throw in a brand new character that looks similar to Akio right in the middle of the whole event, then start flashing back to when Koichi was a racer 3 years prior, THEN flashing back again to the night before showing the accident, things get all muddled.

This is how it went down

-Akio was racing with Reina, Ishida, and Tetsuya right before the midway mark of the episode. You HEAR the crash ONLY before the break.

-Cut to the NEXT morning where Koichi is reading about the accident (they didn't show it yet) in the newspaper. Koichi was a street racer a few years back, but gave it up because his wife was having a baby. During this sequence we (flash back 3 years ago) see that she lost their first baby and was rushed to the hospital. Koichi was out racing when it happened.

-finally they show what happened to the Z as Reina tells her co-anchor about the Z's accident over a cup of coffee.

-Later we see Akio on the rooftop at school reflecting on the night before and how the Z seemed to change direction on him while he tried to overtake the truck. The Z got crushed against the median and burst into flames

-Meanwhile Koichi after driving his friends car is starting to get the feel the tuning bug again. He sees Reina and Blackbird making their way to Kitami's shop and he follows them there.

In the Manga the accident just happens chronologically, so it's not that confusing I guess. Also having only the sound of the crash during the "commerical" sequence could have been misconstrued as just a sound effect, so when you finally see the Z in flames you're like, "What?! When did that happen!?"

Well I'm not trying to be rude, but if english/japanese is your first language it should be obvious.

Z, Testa and Porshe go out for a race which the anime does not show. The Z got in an accident with a truck and caught fire. The dude and pregnant chic are new characters and we find out about the accident when he (the dude) reads the paper. The subs for that scene are in the upper left hand corner and go by kinda quick so u may have to pause to read em. Anyway the dude, as explained in this episode (7) is a former street racer who is by all indications becoming obsessed with the Devil Z.
The chic was pregnant at one point in time, lost the baby and now she's preggy again.
She fears that racing, which once took up so much of his time will return to being his number 1 priority.

I guess KSC beat me to it blink.gif

The only thing that was really confusing me was how much he looked like Akio, makes perfect since now. I was like well either its 3 years after the devil z wrecked and Akio got married, or it's a new character. Koichi honestly looks like Akio had aged 3 years.

Just read the manga.

Or in the anime you'll notice right away that they has an accident cause on Harada's story, Akio stands near burning Z

The satory is kinda differs from the manga, but it's okay

Is there any news on the episode 8, Jakko?

What about episode 7, did you make an improvement on it? If it is, I want to download it again

I've uploaded it so now it's a case of waiting for the link to be posted. If I post the link myself there is a good chance that Nomake Wan will not be able to access the thing himself (and as the eyes of the world are on us at the moment I'd rather wait and make sure that everyone got it rather than a few lucky peeps who've Googled the episode and jumped the queue above everyone here). I personally can't wait for you guys to see it as it's actually a marked improvement over my first effort (which coincidentally was the first feature I'd ever subbed). So much so that I'll be re-doing and re-posting that when I get a chance. The next one (episode 9) will be started on tonight and probably ready (after checking) by the end of this weekend, and then episode 10 the week after that. It's the testing that takes the time. I'd rather the finished product be exactly that (a finished product) then there's no need to fart around with it (other than to whack it on DVD to watch on your DVD player). Peace!

File has been received and is uploading to the FTP as we speak. About two hours and thirty minutes remain in the upload. Once it's on our FTP I'll make a torrent.

EDIT!

File has been uploaded to our FTP, and torrent has been created! Check the first post for links to both!!

There is no new episode 7 done by myself yet and it'll be a while before there is one. The problems with the audio are only suffered by people using a pc and a poor sound system in order to watch them. Stick them onto DVD and watch them properly and you'll have no such problems. There are enough people out there who are just happy to have the episode subbed in the first place to start getting crabby about the quality. My versions are the highest resolution of all the fan-subbed versions out there so I'm not gonna apologise for any quality issues with anyone who's not watching them how they were intended to be viewed. In a world where you can pick up a DVD player for £10/$20 there is no excuse really.

Had no problems downloading directly, averaged out 200-300kBps. The way you are routed to the site might be a problem for you, so it could be fixed soon, unless if it's ATT switch/router, then might take a while. You can also try using a download accelerator to ensure that even if your link to the site gets dropped, then at least it will resume where it left off.

Edit: Just noticed that your location is "Indonesia", if that's the case then there could be a whole new set of problems for you. smile.gif

This is untrue, and I'm somewhat offended you would suggest such a thing. The fact that you can put your encode onto your Xbox360 and use your nice surround system to enjoy it does not mean that doing so magically corrects the mistake you made in the encoder on episode 7. The amp I'm assuming you're using for surround, like any surround amp, has the ability to "expand stereo" to make a 2-channel audio stream into pseudo-surround.

This is not the same as episode 8, which you correctly encoded to 6-channel WMA.

Blaming hardware for a mistake you made in software isn't the way to go.

I don't think there is anything "incorrect" about the encoding. The reason it's like it is on episode 7 is because the presets built in to encode 360 are set to change the audio (quite why i'll never know) to 2 channel. It wasn't 'til I started playing with the software that I realised quite what you could do with it (including the screen aspect which was slightly different for ep7 because I used a built in preset that was as close to the original source as possible). I meant no offence by my comments but I stand by my point that unless you've got a big speaker set-up on you pc it's gonna be quieter than on your TV. Encode 360 is a pretty basic bit of kit at best and as it came with no documentation I think I did pretty well to have it licked by the second attempt. It doesn't tell you anywhere that you can turn off certain properties (so that it doesn't alter anything) and if you change some of the elements you have to quit and reload it in order for it to "forget" them. We're getting there but I'm working on 9 at the moment so going back to iron out ep7 is not high on my priorities (and it takes ages to encode it too as I have a pretty old pc!)
