is the audio in your files encoded with wma pro?
ffdshow doesnt really like it so it falls back to the default windows decoder where i cant downmix the 6channel audio to 2channel. i cant really tell who is talking, the voices are almost silent.
wmv and streaming to your xbawks and surround system is nice and good but you should think about ppl who watch anime on their pc with a headphone too
i will now proceed to get raws and mux ac3 audio or even rip the sub and make a softsubbed .mkv of the raws.

Question: Can I update your releases onto Anime-Source. By releases, I mean the BT links that can be found on page 1. They don't accept direct downloads and accept only BT links.

Yes episodes 7 and 8 are both subbed.

@ Jakko. I found a few spelling mistakes and stuff on episode 7, but great work. I have yet to watch episode 8 though.

No problems with audio here. I use MPC w/ CCC to play it. If I use WMP, speech is a little soft, which I guess is what you guys are talking about.

I watched episode 7 again last night (it's been a couple of weeks because I've been doing the later episodes as you guys know) and there are a few things i'll change when I go back and do it i.e. the newspaper, narrated section. It plays though a bit too quick. The way the camera pans quickly by the paper and give you lots to look at I think i'll do in a more 'headline' format so it just gives small sound bites rather than lots and lots of text to read. I'd animate them (because I can!) but when I encode them it just goes crappy, so it'll have to remain static too until I figure that out.

As a sideline to this, how are people watching them? On my pc when I check them I use mplayer (it's free and I can check the sub before I encode them). This does seem louder than Window Media Player. Also VLC player (which plays anything!) is another good choice as it handles the huge amount of rogue obscure codecs that get used by all and sundry to rip stuff better than W.M.P. It is worth (if you have 10 minutes) getting hold of mplayer though. It looks the business too! Make sure also that you download the Combined Community Codec Pack too (CCCP). It's free and will almost certainly sort out the volume issues.

Hahaha...it would sort out the volume issues if it were AC3, but it's WMA. Since you encoded to WMV files, I played them in WMP as they were designed to be played. If I play it in MPC, then FFDshow takes over the audio decoding. I can then set FFDShow to normalize the audio, which returns it to a more "proper" volume level.

Sorry if I come off harshly, but I'm just sayin'. My offer to send over the 2.0ch AC3 audio from the DVDs still stands.

I view episodes on my PC in Windows' Media Player with surround sound/card and speakers. I've had no problem with volume levels.

I wouldn't know what to do with it if you did dude. In the settings in Encode360 under the sound output box it says that i'll leave it untouched (like the screen res. which are set to 'from input' / no change). I only use Encode360 as i'm not at all clued-up on running scripts to hardcode them in. If I could it'd be better as I could keep the animation in the subs. I've taken it out simply because it's not that important (just moving for the sake of it really).

I watched it on the XBOX360, worked fine with no problems,...sound was no problem either

Wha? You got an error? Why is that? I have no problem watch it on Windows Media Player. It is soft on episode 7, but not in 8

Do you use a codec? I use Combined Community ones...

His spelling of the word chassis was closer than yours, thats all I meant

With regards to spelling errors, don't forget that there is a difference between UK English and US English. In the UK there are words that end on "our" that in the US (and I'm guessing Canada too) that would be spelt "or" ie flavour (UK) flavor (US), harbour (UK) harbor (US) etc. I have done them in the UK English format because I am English and when I show them to my kids I don't want them to see that I've made spelling errors! I'm not criticising (probably spelt with a z in US/Canada) any language barriers by the way because it's just the natural way things develop (diversity being a good thing) so don't leap on me for that. I could go on but it'd probably get boring. If anyone spots anything though feel free to PM me as when i've finally finished up to 12 I'm gonna make a DVD of it with a proper box and inlay (I work in a printers so they'll look pretty special) and it would be nice to iron out any bugs. Sorry, I meant spelling errors and stuff. I don't think the errors were because you used UK English and not Canada/US English.

I'm using CCCP as well, so I dunno why the sound is really soft in WMP.

Hm, I only remember one time, and then, only cause I spent like 30 minutes trying to figure out what the heck "chases" were . It was in Ep. 3@17:00 approx. when Reina goes to Yamamoto to have her GT-R tuned and you put "change the chases"...which I think means "change the suspension"?

Oops... sorry for the accusation.

did anyone one else have and issue with Ep8 if it was pulled from BT. The direct download version seems fine but the file i got from BT wouldn't play in any of my players (Winamp MPC WMP) i got sound and no video.
