QUOTE (MaxX @ Today at 9:20 PM) | No, he's not. And I don't get why you're challenging me to race someone other than yourself.
That's like "hey, my big brother can beat you up, just give me a time and I'll go tell him".
He has a face with a mouth, right? He can probably talk for himself, you don't need to talk for him.
Why do that anyway and not challenge me directly if you have a problem? Afraid to get your words shoved back down your throat?
I don't get why you're talking shit to me and calling me out as if I was calling people out first or something. I didn't mention names, nor did I complain about people winning or losing. Because the fact is that I still won alot of those matches, which I already mentionned before, I just didn't see why they had to be raced the way they were.
I find the idea of undercutting HP just to be compensation for either low skill or low confidence in your ability to win. You shouldn't need to undercut people to gain an advantage if you think you can win, right? You must not be confident enough that you can beat your opponent to have to abuse game mechanics.
I don't think you know the difference between shit-talking and having a complaint.
You clearly think I'm wrong though, and obviously you think that disagreeing with an opinion = a race in MT to see who's right for whatever reason. So don't hide behind someone's back and point to him and say he can beat me. Please, for the sake of being a man, challenge me straight-up. |
hey man dont worry, velocity didnt challenge u to play himself mainly prolly because u can never see his tail lights even with boost on, so..u know what, before u come onto forums and complain about boost advantage, strengthen ur skills first

I still don't see his reasoning for wanting to race me. It's not like I said "this fag 9LEI uses low HP, what a scrub", I don't even know the guy, and I don't know if I've ever seen his car, ever.
You guys have a funny way of trying to pick fights.
I live in sauga, I'm not wasting the $25 in gas to come race someone I've never met. I'm usually at orbit on saturdays during midday. If you're there at the same time and want to race, great. If not, who cares?
I also still fail to see how racing me at the SAME HP = a counterargument to me having a problem with people who constantly UNDERCUT HP....that makes no sense at all. You guys really have no points to prove here at all, you're just picking fights for reasons beyond me.

What he is pointing out is that since you are complaining that people are only winning because they use lower hp (catching up to you due to boost), he would be more than happy to demonstrate to you that his friend can still beat you using the same hp, hence making your assumption that they are only winning through using a lower hp, false.
Point out where I say "these people are only winning because they're using lower hp", please.
Also, why would his friend have to beat me if I never called him out specifically? Was I assuming that a person whom I've never seen before is only beating me because he uses a lower HP? I've never raced/seen this guy, how could him beating me at the same HP prove anything?
It'd prove that someone can beat me at the same HP settings....whoopee, that's not exactly news.
I don't mention wins or losses anywhere, nor do I mention names, I just say what I think of the idea. In those kinds of races, sometimes I lose, sometimes I win. Just the same as if it was a match with everyone at the same HP. The main difference obviously being that when racing at the same HP, you're on a level playing field, more or less.
I'm also not talking about Yoko specifically, I'm talking about almost every course, which I've mentionned before. I realize that Yoko down ends that way, you don't have to explain that to me, I've experienced a last-second loss because of that turn enough times.
Undercutting to me isn't someone going 740 on C1 and someone else going 720, or 820/800 on yoko, or something small. I know that there are just HP preferences and some people race at different settings, that's fine.
What I don't see as perticularly fair is when, for example, a Yoko UP race happens and there are four different HP settings ranging from 740-820, picked in succession for highest to lowest.
Player 1 chooses 820, player 2 then chooses 800, player 3 then chooses 760, etc. This isn't HP choice based on preference, it's HP choice based on who'll have the highest handling advantage in a boost on match, which I personally see as unnecessary.
I don't know why I'm explaining myself again, I've said it so much. I'll also reiterate that I still don't see why I'm being challenged, after explaining and throwing out your notion that I'm cocky enough to say that I only lose to undercutters.....I don't think anyone in their right mind would have the gall to say something to that effect. If they do, THEN that person needs to be challenged and put in his place.
I just had an opinion, not an axe to grind with anyone. That's obviously saying more than some people here though.

I don't play much at P-mall, but I've seen MaxX play before and vice versa. You all have a point in my opinion.
Trying not to be off topic of anything, but my way of play is that I can choose whatever HP. HK's style of play is really interesting and I'd like to try that one day. But if I win and people start complaining how I'm taking advantage of boost, handling, etc. then there's no fun in doing that. You go there to have fun. That's it.
I believe there's a reason why the game has so many power and handling settings, ranging from HG to DG. I don't think anyone made a rule where you have to play 820hp in Wangan or Yokohane or use 740/760 in Osaka. I believe it's a trend, and people like me will try to follow that because all my opponents are doing it.
When I play C1 in story mode and in Hakone, sometimes I have a hard time with 720HP on Balance. Like that time it was a 4-way battle in Hakone, I really wanted to choose HG. Why? Because I've never played Hakone. But I sticked with like whatever everyone chose. Why? So people won't complain.
Oh btw. This is probably the only post I'm gonna make bout undercutting HP and w/e here. If you don't like my opinion, then I'm sorry. If it doesn't make sense, then I'm sorry. If people like what I think about this, then yay.

I can go to PD on friday, but it'd have to be in the evening because I work until 9, so I'd get there at about 9:20-9:30.
Nobody in my area plays that I know of, the only people that I race with are all markham-based. So it'll just be me and my gf, who also plays MT anyway.
If you guys stay there until those kinds of hours, or can, then you'll see me there this friday.
Minnie: Now that you mention it, Ninja raced once, and then like, he got up so fast that I didn't even see him leave the machine. So he might've gotten up in a fit of rage, I don't know.

QUOTE (Veloxity @ Yesterday at 3:01 AM) | lol ninja use to always love to challenge me on osaka 1on1, because thats the only map he picks so i pick that map since he doesnt know how to play any other map it wouldnt be fair since he cant even catch up with boost for other maps. then after he only challenges me or the okay players if there are at least 3 or more players in total. |
I was curious about where NINJA plays... I was thinking he was a Gety player... Now that MaxX and cocolate mention PD and Pacific Mall, and his arrogance, I want to have another race with him!
The first time I saw him was at Funland two months ago. I was usually doing story mode waiting for a challenge, then finally NINJA shows up. Thinking he can defeat me in Osaka, since I was so lazy in trying to race Eiji, he lost to me in the same course 7 times. I was not sure what he was trying to prove, but anyways, after losing the 7th time, he TA'ed out the door.
Erm... he nearly forgot his card and huge glasses...
BACK ON TOPIC: Anyways some of you know me as KI of Team Kanto from FL, who knows "the puppy"... (TPM know him)
It's been a two weeks since I've played; maybe I'll drop by at Pacific Mall on Friday. Hope to see some TPM people there! =D
